Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(07):-
Levels of serum leptin were measured in 150 healthy, 50 PIH pregnant women before the delivery time and their newborns by Immuno radioassay(RIA) method. Serum leptin concentrations were correlated with body weight, body mass index, blood pressure, height of uterus bottom, waist circumference. Results were as follows: ① The serum leptin levels of PIH pregnant women (25 53?1 49?g/L) were significantly higher than those of the normal preghant women (21 13?4 08?g/L). ②The cord serum leptin levels of PIH pregnant women (12 23?4 39?g/L) were significantly higher than those of the normal preghant women (10 29?3 08?g/L). ③The leptin concentrations were positively correlated with body weight, body mass index, height of uterus bottom, waist circumference in the normal pregnant women, but not in the the PIH pregnant women. ④The correlations between leptin concentrations and systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, medium artery blood pressure in the PIH pregnant women were more obviously significant than those in the normal pregnant women. ⑤The correlations between the maternal serum leptin concentrations and newborns'body weight, body mass index were not significant both in the normal pregnant women and in the PIH pregnant women, however, the maternal serum leptin levels were positively correlated with the cord serum leptin levels in the PIH pregnant women, but not in the normal pregnant women. ⑥The correlations between the leptin levels of umbilical blood and newborns'body weight, body mass index were significant. It is suggested that ①Serum leptin levels of the PIH pregnant women and the neonatal are much higher than those of the normal pregnant women. ②The leptin concentrations of the maternal and the newborn are more correlated with themselves′ fat mass accumulation in the normal pregnant women. ③The cord serum leptin level is regarded as a reliable parameter for evaluating the fetal intrauterine growth. ④The maternal serum leptin level may serve as a marker for monitoring PIH.

Objective:To observe the effect of pioglitazone on carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT) and plaque-positive rate in patients with metabolic syndrome, and to ifnd a new way to improve arterial remodeling in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods:Patients with metabolic syndrome were randomly divided into a control group (n=60) and a pioglitazone group (n=61). All subjects received basic therapeutic measures, i.e, appropriate medication to control blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. Pioglitazone (15 mg/d) was given to patients in the pioglitazone group, and placebo (vitamin C) in the control group for 24 weeks. Color doppler ultrasound was used to measure carotid artery IMT and plaque-positive rate of patients in the 2 groups atfer the intervention. Japan’s Hitachi 7600-020 automatic biochemical analyzer was used to measure fasting serumal triglycerides, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, free fatty acids, fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial glucose and liver and kidney function, etc. The differences between groups after the intervention were analyzed and compared in IMT, plaque-positive rate and all blood biochemical indicators. Results:Atfer the intervention, compared with the control group, carotid artery plaque-positive rate and the levels of triglyceride and free fatty acid decreased in the pioglitazone group (P<0.05), but there was no difference in IMT of carotid artery and other blood biochemical indicators between the 2 groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Pioglitazone intervention can significantly improve pathologic artery remodeling, and it can more effectively inhibit the arterial plaque-formation than basic therapeutic measures in patients with metabolic syndrome.

China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2011;24(5):366-369
OBJECTIVETo compare the therapeutic effectiveness of inverted less invasive stabilization system (LISS) and proximal femoral nail anlirotafion (PFNA) in treatment of complex unstable intertrochanteric fracture in aged, and to investigate the selective strategy of the internal fixation.
METHODSFrom February 2007 to June 2009, 47 senior patients with complex and unstable intertrochanteric fractures (Evans IV, V, R-type) were treated. Among them 23 patients were treated by inverted LISS, including 7 males and 16 females, aged from 76 to 97 years; 24 patients were treated by PFNA, including 9 males and 15 females, aged from 73 to 90 years old. The mean operating time, blood loss, intraoperative photographs frequency, incision length, length of stay, bone healing, hip function were analyzed and compared.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 8 to 18 months (averaged 13.1 months). All fractures got bone healing. No complications such as wound infection, varus and internal fixation cut out occurred. The operative time, incision length, in PFNA group had a slight ascendant than that in LISS inversion group, but there were no significant differences. According to postoperative Harris hip score outcome of LISS inversion group compared with the PFNA group, there was no significant difference.
CONCLUSIONBoth of PFNA and LISS have ideal effect in treatment of complex unstable intertrochanteric fracture in aged, and are good internal fixations.

4.Design and accuracy analysis of upper slicing system of MSCT.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2013;37(3):226-231
The upper slicing system is the main components of the optical system in MSCT. This paper focuses on the design of upper slicing system and its accuracy analysis to improve the accuracy of imaging. The error of slice thickness and ray center by bearings, screw and control system were analyzed and tested. In fact, the accumulated error measured is less than 1 microm, absolute error measured is less than 10 microm. Improving the accuracy of the upper slicing system contributes to the appropriate treatment methods and success rate of treatment.

Objectives To detect the expression of STAT3 in children with FCD (focal cortical dysplasias) type IIIa. Methods The expression of STAT3 and P-STAT3 (ser727) were determined in temporal lobe specimens from 26 children with FCD type IIIa and from 5 normal control by immunohistochemistry, immunolfuorescence and Western blot. Results The expression of P-STAT3 (ser727) was obviously higher in FCD type IIIa than in control group. P-STAT3 (ser727) was located mainly in the nucleus of astrocytes. Conclusions Activated STAT3 might contribute to the patholgenesis of FCD type IIIa by mediating proliferation of astrocytes.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between variable influence factors and postoperative 2 week hospital special surgery (HSS) of knee joint, thus offer the treatment suggestion to patients with osteoarthritis, and judge the comprehensive effective prognosis to the clinical patient.
METHODSFrom March 2008 to August 2010, 72 patients with 72 knees were treated with TKA (treatment group), including 30 males and 42 females with a mean age of (71.9 +/- 6.2) years (ranged, 60 to 86 years). Twenty-two patients with HoldenIV OA treated by arthroscopy were in the control group, including 10 males and 12 females with a mean age of (70.5 +/- 5.9) years. The index including height, weight, BMI, muscle strength, knee joint HSS score and ROM were evaluated before operation and at 1st, 2nd weeks after operation.
RESULTSThe HSS knee score and ROMs of patients in the treatment group improved. The pre-operative ROM, HSS score, knee pain, continous passive motion (CPM) at different level (i.e.CPM initial angle) had a prominent positive correlation with HSS score in postoperative 2 weeks. The factors such as patients' age, height, weight, BMI, muscular strength, etc. had no obvious relevant to HSS score in postoperative 2 weeks.
CONCLUSIONThe pre-operative HSS score, knee pain, knee ROM, perioperative severe complications, and postoperative CPM initial angle have a positive correlation with the postoperative effects.
