Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(26):4258-4264
BACKGROUND: In recent years, increasing studies focus on digital complete denture. Digital complete denture has many advantages such as reducing patient visit times, saving chairside time, improving manufacturing precision in comparison with traditional complete denture.OBJECTIVE: To review the development of technology and clinical application of digital complete denture, and to analyze the existing insufficiencies.words were CAD/CAM complete dentures, digital complete dentures, rapid prototyping dentures, manufactured dentures, computer dentures, machined dentures, designed dentures, milled dentures, artificial tooth, 3D scanning, 3D printing in English and Chinese, respectively.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Currently, the production of complete denture using digital technology cannot be fully realized. During digital impression, to scan the traditional dental casts is still the mainstream technology for data acquisition technology. Future investigations on scanning the patient alveolar ridge and its surrounding soft tissue directly and digitally recording the jaw relation directly are warranted. To develop 3D-printed artificial teeth and base materials with proper strength, aesthetics, comfort levels as well as 3D printing of the artificial tooth and the base as the final denture will make digital denture technology more mature.

To explore the anti-atherosclerotic mechanism of estrogen and especially observe the effect of estradiol on the content of cholesterol in J774a.1 mouse mononuclear/macrophage-derived foam cells which were incubated with oxidized low-density lipoproteins (ox-LDL). J774a.1 mouse mononuclear/macrophages were incubated with ox-LDL or with both ox-LDL and estradiol (1, 0.1 or 0.01 micromol x L(-1)). Oil red O staining was used to observe the formation of foam cells, and cholesterol oxidase fluorometric was used to determine the content of cellular cholesterol content. Western blotting and RTFQ-PCR were used to observe the expressions of scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-B I ) in J774a.1 foam cells. Compared with the control cells, J774a.1 mouse mononuclear/macrophage-derived foam cells showed significantly increased contents of total cholesterol and cholesterol ester (P < 0.001) and decreased SR-B I mRNA expression (P < 0.01). Estradiol treatment significantly lowered the contents of total cholesterol and cholesterol ester (P < 0.05), and increased SR-B I protein and mRNA expression (P < 0.01) in the foam cells in a dose-dependent manner. Estradiol can inhibit the formation of mononuclear/macrophage-derived foam cells by decreasing the contents of total cholesterol and cholesterol ester and up-regulating the expression of SR-B I in the foam cells.

Objective To study the effect of lung cancer prevention in Baoji city, one of the cities with high lung cancer morbidity in China. Methods To investigate the mortality of lung cancer from 1992 to 1996 in Baoji and compare it with the data of Baoji in 1970s and the current data in whole China. Information of lung cancer pa- tients was collected from the Malignant Tunout Monitoring Station in Baoji. To investigate by sampling survey the status of smoking of Baoji population based on the principle of clustering random sampling. Information about air pollution in 1980s and 1990s was obtained from the Environmental Monitoring Station in Baoji. ResultsComparing with 1970s, the crude mortality rates of lung cancer in Baoji in 1992~ 1996 increased both in males and females, but the range was narrower than that in whole China. Ajusted mortality rates of lung cancer didn't change in females but decreased in males. However, either crude or adjusted mortality rate was lower than the average level of the whole country. The status of air pollution has been improved dramatically since the early 1980s in Baoji. So far, except to- tal suspended particles (TSP), NOx and SO2 levels have reached the Criteria of Air Quality of China. But the smoking rate was still higher. ConclusionThe prevention of lung cancer in Baoji is effective, but the role of measures needs further study. Baoji should not be considered as a city with high lung cancer morbidity in our country at present.

Objective:To expound the pathogenesis relationship between Yunnan unexplained sudden death (YUSD) and desmosomal protein gene mutations of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC).Methods:Four YUSD cases families by ARVC pathological diagnosis were selected, to collect heart blood samples of YUSD cases by ARVC pathological diagnosis( n=3), venous blood samples of immediate relatives with genetic relationship (case relatives, n=4) and control population without genetic relationship ( n=7). DNA was extracted for PCR amplification and sequencing of a total of 97 exons of the ARVC desmosomal protein genes plakophilin 2 (PKP2), desmoplakin (DSP), desmoglein 2 (DSG2), desmocollin 2 (DSC2), and junction plakoglobin (JUP), and the mutations of the 5 genes were analyzed in combination with the genetic family. Results:DSP gene mutations were found in all YUSD cases by ARVC pathological diagnosis and case relatives, and PKP2, DSG2, DSC2 and JUP genes mutations were found in 1 person each. The same person carried 1-3 genes mutations. DSP gene existed 4 exon mutation sites, and 1 of which was a newly discovered heterozygous synonymous mutation c.4014 C>A (p.A1338A). PKP2 gene existed 2 exon missense mutation sites in 1 YUSD case by ARVC pathological diagnosis, and 1 of which was a newly discovered heterozygous mutation c.739 G>C (p.G247R). One heterozygous missense mutation site c.799 G>A (p.A267T) of JUP gene was newly discovered, and the predictive value of protein function was 0.963, the possibility of abnormal changes in protein function was high. DSG2 and DSC2 genes each had one mutation site. However, no mutation was found in control population. Conclusions:Both YUSD cases by ARVC pathological diagnosis and case relatives carry ARVC desmosomal protein genes DSP, PKP2, DSG2, DSC2 and JUP mutations. There may be a certain pathogenesis relationship between YUSD and ARVC desmosomal protein gene mutations.
