Acute undifferentiated leukemia (AUL) is a clinically rare subtype of acute leukemia (AL). AUL lacks the serial specific antigen expressions, and the blasts have no morphological features of myeloid differentiation. Due to the rarity of AUL in clinic, there is no unified understanding of clinical and biological characteristics. It′s difficult to diagnose and choose the optimal treatment for AUL patients. And the prognosis of patients with AUL is poorer compared with other types of AL. Thanks to the big development of biotechnology in recent years, the related researchers have a better understanding of this rare disease. This article reviews the progress of diagnosis and treatment in AUL.

ObjectiveIn order to compare the alteration of reelin-immunoreactive Cajal-Retzius cells (CR cells) in molecular layer of dentate gyrus of APPswe transgenic mice with wild type, the histochemical and developmental characteristics of CR cells were studied, therefore, the roles of CR cells in Alzheimer's disease would be revealed further. Methods The Thioflavine S staining, reelin immunofluorescence with or without reelin/glutamate and reelin/GABA immuno-double staining were carried out in the study. In the meantime, Western blotting was used to study the expression of reelin in hippocampi of the both wild type and transgenic mice. Results Reelin positive CR cells could be double-labeled with either glutamate or GABA immunostaining. Caspase-3 immunofluorescence demonstrated that some CR cells went through apoptosis during their development. Compared with wild type, CR cells in APPswe transgenic mice had significantly decreased in the molecular layer of the dentate gyrus. The result was supported with Western blotting analysis of reelin expression in hippocampus. Conclusion Reelin could be co-expressed with either glutamate or GABA, suggesting CR cells would be glutamatergic exciting neurons and GABAergic interneurons. The loss of CR cells during development probably was caused by the neuroapoptosis. Significant decrease of CR cells in hippocampus of APPswe transgenic mice indicated reelin may play an important role in AD pathological alterations.

Journal of International Oncology 2021;48(10):627-630
An effective, reliable and practical staging is of great help to the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors. Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor using clinical stage in gynecological tumors, but staging lacks objectivity in judging the tumor size, para-uterine invasion, vaginal margin, vascular invasion and so on. By October 2018, the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FIGO) had revised the 2009 FIGO cervical cancer staging that had been used before. However, the changed points of the 2018 FIGO cervical cancer staging are controversial.

Objective To investigate the expression of programmed death ligand 1(PD-L1) in primary tumor cells(TCs) and tumor-infiltrating immune cells(TICs) in patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer(CRC) and determine its predictive value for recurrence after microwave ablation(MWA) of liver metastases. Methods The paraffin-embedded specimens of 28 patients with CRC liver metastasis were collected retrospectively. The expression of PD-L1 in the primary lesions was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the relationship between PD-L1 and clinical features was analyzed. Recurrence-free survival(RFS) was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method and Log rank test. Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to analyze the factors influencing recurrence. Results The positive rates of PD-L1 in TCs and TICs in primary CRC were 14.3%(4/28) and 46.4%(13/28), respectively. PD-L1 expression in primary TICs of CRC patients with liver metastases was significantly correlated with the largest hepatic tumor diameter (

Macrophages have strong plasticity and heterogeneity, and can undergo functional transformation in response to different signal stimuli, such as classical activation of M1 type(M1 type polarization)and selective activation of M2 type(M2 type polarization). The pathways of macrophage M1/M2 polarization are quite extensive, involving nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)/mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling pathway,interleukin-4(IL-4)/signal transduction and activator of transcription 6(STAT6)signaling pathway,Notch signaling pathway,Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, etc. At the same time,M1/M2 polarization of macrophages is also regulated by exosomes,metabolites,non-coding RNA,electrical stimulation, probiotics, etc.,and its imbalance is closely related to the occurrence and development of different types of liver disease. In this paper, the mechanism of its polarization was reviewed, and it was found that M1 polarization of macrophages played a promoting role in the process of liver tissue injury, inflammation and fibrosis, while M2 polarization of macrophages played the opposite role.Among them, hepatocellular carcinoma,as the advanced stage of chronic liver disease, was characterized by increased M2 polarization and impaired M1 polarization of macrophages. Therefore, this paper pays attention to the role of M1/M2 polarization of macrophages in different types of liver diseases,in order to better establish the targeted therapy of macrophage subsets.

Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2022;30(7):763-769
Objective:To analyze the trend of liver cancer morbidity and mortality among residents with household registration in certain District, 2017 to 2019.Methods:The crude morbidity and mortality rate of males and females in the whole population were calculated by using the relevant data from the certain District Cancer Registry and Report System and the Cause of Death Surveillance System. The standardized morbidity and mortality rate were calculated according to the age structure of 2000 National Demographic Census and Segi's world population, respectively. Trend in liver cancer morbidity and mortality were evaluated using percent change (PC), annual percentage change, and case-number-weighted annual percent change. Age-specific rates were used to analyze the epidemic trend of liver cancer with age. Results:The crude morbidity rate of liver cancer in the whole population (male and female) of the certain district from 2017 to 2019 were 18.86/100 000, 26.05/100 000 and 11.90/100 000 respectively, and the crude mortality rates were 21.20/100 000, 29.29/100 000 and 13.38/100 000 respectively. The crude morbidity and mortality rate of liver cancer among male showed a downward trend (PC=-16.77% and -20.15% respectively). The crude morbidity and mortality rate of liver cancer among female showed inconsistent changes; however, the crude morbidity rate showed a downward trend, and the crude mortality rate first increased and then decreased (PC=-19.42% and -0.30% respectively). Liver cancer morbidity and mortality rate in male after the age of 30 were increased with age. The two key points of accelerated growth were around the age of 65 and 75, and the peak of morbidity (130.78/100 000) and mortality (201.96/100 000) were after the age of 80. The morbidity and mortality rate were significantly lower in female than those of male aged 60; however, after the age of 65, the morbidity rate was increased rapidly and gradually approached as that of male. After the age of 80 (the peak morbidity and mortality were 104.40/100,000 and 132.87/100,000, respectively), male were about twice as high as those female aged between 75 and 79.Conclusion:Morbidity and mortality rate of liver cancer in the certain District showed an overall downward trend from 2017 to 2019, but it increased with age, and the disease burden was relatively high among the elderly population. Liver cancer mostly occurred in male, so the prevention and control of liver cancer epidemics in middle-aged and elderly should be actively monitored.
