1.Microencapsulated pancreatic B cell line as a bioartificial pancreas in agarose/PSSa microbcads

Presented in this study was the report of microencapsulated pancreatic B cell line MIN6 in agarose/polystyrene sulfonic acid (PSSa) microbeads as a bioartificial pancreas. One week after subcutaneous xenotransplantation to Lewis rats without use of any immunosup-pressants, the microbeads microencapsulated MIN6 cells were retrieved. The retrieved microbeads were perfectly intact, spherical, smooth and contained viable MIN6 cells. Fibrotic overgrowth and adhesions were rarely observed. The results of the static incubation study revealed that the secretion of insulin from the retrieved microbeads in response to a low glucose concentration was 19.20 ± 1.35μU·100 microbeads-1 /h ; In response to a high glucose stimulation, secretion of insulin was significantly and prominently increased to 51.47±3.82μU·100 microbeads-1/h. The results suggested that this agarose/PSSa microbeads microencapsulated MIN6 cells as a bioartificial pancreas possessed not only an excellent efficacy of immunoisolation, but also a good responsibility of insulin secretion to glucose stimulation.
2.The clinical study of red blood cell distribution width in patients with chronic heart failure

Objective To investigate the association between red blood cell distribution width (RDW) level and the change of cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and explore its possible mechanism by studying the correlation between RDW and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDD),and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP),and uric acid(UA) in patients with chronic heart failure.Methods Two hundred and eighty patients were included in our study.Each patient received the examinations of echocardiography,electrocar diogram (ECG),blood routine,and blood biochemistry.According to the different LVEF,LVEDD and RDW,the patients were divided into groups A,B,C,and D,respectively.The groups were compared with each other.Results According to the different LVEF,from group A to group D,with a progressive decrease in LVEF,RDW level were increased gradually [(13.48 ± 0.85) %,(14.10 ± 1.46) %,(14.59 ±1.59)%,(14.75±1.42)%,F =12.698,P <0.01].There was significant difference among the four groups (P <0.01).RDW level correlated inversely with LVEF(r =-0.538,P <0.01).According to the different LVEDD,from group A to group D,with a progressive increase in LVEDD,RDW level increased gradually [(13.53 ±0.91)%,(14.12±1.42)%,(14.60±1.68)%,(14.76±1.39)%,F =12.276,P <0.01].There was significant difference among the four groups (P <0.01).RDW level correlated positively with LVEDD (r =0.343,P <0.01).In chronic heart failure patients,there were significant linear correlation between RDW and hs-CRP,LgUA (r =0.486,0.513,P <0.05).Conclusions RDW correlated with the change of cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure.With a progressive decrease in LVEF and a progressive increase in LVEDD,RDW level increased gradually.RDW had a strong correlation with hs-CRP,LgUA.This indicates that RDW level increase may be related to the inflammation and oxidative reaction in patients with chronic heart failure.
3.ClinicalObservation of Superficial Needling for Intractable Constipation in the Elderly

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of superficial needling in treating senile intractable constipation.Method The recruited patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 40 in each group. The treatment group was intervenedby superficial needling, while the control group was by oral administration of Phenolphthalein tablets. The two groups both received the treatments for 4 weeks.ResultThe therapeutic efficacy increased with the treatment; patients showed improvements indefecation frequency, stool constitution, and effort in defecation (P<0.05); there was a significant difference between the treatment group and the control group (P<0.05); the residual marker counts of 48 h and 72 h after treatment were significantly lowered in both groups compared to that before treatment (P<0.05).ConclusionSuperficial needling can obviously improve the symptoms of senile intractable constipation, promoting the gastrointestinal transit motility.
4.Curative efficacy of safflower yellow sodium chloride in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction and its effects on cardiac function and oxidative stress

Objective To investigate the curative efficacy of safflower yellow sodium chloride in the treat-ment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI)and its effects on cardiac function and oxidative stress.Methods 110 cases of AMI meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups equally.The control group was given conventional drug treatment and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI),while the observation group was given con-ventional drug treatment and PCI in combination with safflower yellow sodium chloride.Then,the curative efficacy, indices of cardiac function and oxidative stress were observed and compared.Results The observation group had a total effective rate of 94.5%,which was significantly higher than 81.8% in the control group (χ2 =4.94,P =0.026).After the treatment,SV (t =3.23,P =0.002),CO(t =3.82,P =0.000)and LVEF (t =3.14,P =0.002) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (all P <0.05 ).As to oxidative stress,in comparison with the control group,SOD (t =8.42,P =0.000)was significantly higher and MDA (t =3.99, P =0.000)was significantly lower in the observation group (all P <0.05 ).Conclusion Adjuvant treatment of safflower yellow sodium chloride for AMI was effective,which could significantly increase curative efficacy,improve cardiac function and alleviate oxidative stress.
5.Supernumerary teeth in the premolar area:A case report

A case of several ambushed bicuspoid supernumerary teeth in the premolar area was reported.The size,shape and the ratio of crown to root of the supernumerary teeth are similar to those of the premolar.The abnormity of tooth germ division and proliferation may lead the supernumerary teeth.
6.Relationship between serum specific IgE and allergen skin test in allergic patients of Wuhan area.

In order to study the relationship between serum specific IgE (sIgE) and allergen skin test, allergen skin tests and detections of sIgE in 220 allergic patients of Wuhan area were analyzed. The coherent rate of the two methods was beyond 70% (P < 0.01). It was concluded that the in vitro and in vivo detection methods of allergens have a high coherence and can be used as the effective ways to diagnose the allergic diseases in clinical practice.

7.Effect of miR-211 on proliferation and cell cycle related proteins of epithelial ovarian cancer cell line HO8910

Objective:To investigate the relationship between miR-211 and the occurrence of epithelial ovarian cancer,and its influence on the proliferation of ovarian cancer cells. Methods:To analyze the expression miR-211,CDK6 and Cyclin D1 of 30 cases of ovarian cancer and ovarian cancer cell lines,and 30 cases of non-ovarian cancer tissues and the normal ovarian epithelial cells were selected as the control group,and to analyze effects of miR-211 on the proliferation of ovarian cancer cells,as well as the Cyclin D1 and CDK6. Results:miR-211 relative expression level of ovarian cancer tissue was significantly lower than that in the normal group ( P<0. 05). Relative expression level of miR-211 of ovarian cancer cells was significantly lower than that in normal ovarian epithelial cells (P< 0. 05);in epithelial ovarian cancer cell line HO8910,cell number of miR-211 on the 3-day and the 4-day was significantly lower than that of miR-Ctrl group (P<0. 05);relative expression levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK6 in epithelial ovarian cancer were significantly higher than those in normal ovarian epithelial tissues (P<0. 05);miR-211 of epithelial ovarian cancer cell lines significantly inhibited Cyclin D1 and CDK6 expression;in ovarian cancer tissues,Spearman correlation analysis results showed that relative expression levels of miR-211 and Cyclin D1 and CDK6 was negatively correlated ( r=-0. 583, P= 0. 010 ) . Conclusion: miR-211 can inhibit the proliferation of ovarian cancer cells,and inhibit the expression of Cyclin D1 and CDK6;miR-211,Cyclin D1 and CDK6 in ovarian cancer may be involved in the regulation of ovarian cancer.
8.The effects of spironolactone on cardiovascular function in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis

Objective To explore the effects of spironolactone on cardiovascular function in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis .Methods According to the random number table ,80 cases of patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis in blood purification center of our hospital from December 2013 to June 2015 were randomly divided into the observation group and control group ,40 cases in each group .In the observation group ,patients were treated with spironolactone therapy ,while patients in the con‐trol group took a placebo .The cardiovascular function and related indexes were compared between the two groups .Results After 6 months of treatment ,the HR and BNP were decreased ,and CO ,SV ,SI and CI were increased in the observation group ,statistically significant differences were found in these indexes when compared with the control group (P<0 .05);there was no statistically sig‐nificant difference in HOI between the two groups(P>0 .05) .The PP ,MSP ,MDP ,MAP and ET‐1 in the observation group were significantly decreased after 6 months of treatment ,which were statistically different with those in the control group (P<0 .05) . Conclusion Spironolactone contributes to improving cardiovascular function of patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis ,it is worthy of clinical application .

Lung cancer is one of the malignant tumors with a high morbitity and mortality in the world.During its neoplastic development, a set of changes in protein expression occurs.The changed proteomic profile of cancers—tumor biomarkers could guide clinical decision-making.Proteomic methods are widely used in identification of tumor biomarkers.To reduce the mortality of lung cancer and improve its therapy,many studies on the identification of this tumor biomarker are being carried out.This review summarizes the main strategies and technology in proteomics and its application in identification of lung cancer biomarkers.
10.A review of the expression and activity of drug metabolism enzymes in tumorous cells.

Tumorous cells are characterized by distinctive metabolic reprogramming and living conditions. Understanding drug metabolizing features in tumor cells will not only favor the estimation of metabolic rate, elimination half life and the assessment of potency, but also facilitate the optimal design of anti-tumor drugs/prodrugs. This article reviewed the expression and activity features of major drug metabolizing enzymes (DMEs) in solid tumorous tissues, such as liver, intestine, breast and lung, and the difference from the correspondingly normal tissues, exemplified by the metabolic properties of some classic antitumor-agents in tumorous tissues. In combination with the data retrieved in vitro tumor cell lines, we discussed the similarities and differences of DMEs expression and function between tumor tissues (in vivo) and tumor cells (in vitro), and proposed the possible factors that cause the differences.
