1.Study on multiple stem cell sources for mature vascular endothelial cells
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2008;31(4):201-205
Stem cells offer considerable promise in the repair or replacement of damaged tissue in the body.Mature and functional endothelial cells play a pivotal role in neovascularization and maintenance of blood vessel integrity.Although being the best choice for transplantation endothelial, cells isolated from autologous vessels have been heavily obstacled in medical application due to poor resources and limitted proliferation potential in culture. Thus, stem cells have been the focus of the studies soareh for suitable cell sources.Several types of stem cells have been reported to possess endothelial cell differentiation potential. This article summarized the recent study on the sources,distribution,features-differentiation,animal experiments and clinical use of stem cells.Advantages and disadvantages are compared to provide a reference for the choice of evdothelial celia source.

BACKGROUND: The effect of cognitive therapy on psychological stress is not remarkable and optimal. Some psychocatharsis through physical activities cannot be accepted by many clients.OBJECTIVE: To explore an effective method to treat and relieve psychological stress.DESIGN: A controlled (the blank control and the self-control) observation study and single blind trial.SETTING: Department of Preventive Medicine, Medical College of Jinagsu University.PARTICIPANTS: Clients who suffered from emotional suppression or nervous stress would be tested with "psychological stress test". Forty clients, with scores over 5, were selected as the subjects. They were randomly divided into two groups matching of ages and scores: control group (n=20) and experimental group (n=20).METHODS: Clients in the control group were treated with common cognitive therapy by means of talking, and those in the experimental group accepted a sing a song loudly therapy. The song named as Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was selected for the treatment. The clients were requested to sing the song loudly in order to release their stress and vent their repression. The psychologist used the language introduction by background music to make a client under a special kind of psychological situation and emotional state when the music was played for one to two times. Then the psychologist would turn up gradually the volume of sound to the maximum when the music was played for the third time. The volume from the VCD would overwhelm that from the client's voice in order to cover up the singer's shyness. The client sung the song of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau loudly for four to five times. The therapeutic room was required to have a blanch curtain. The sound insulation also was required. The soundscape of the loudspeakers should be wide. The power magnifier should be strong. The loudspeaker should be high fidelity. The questionnaire of psychological stress test was adopted in both groups before and after therapy respectively. It had 30 items for the self-diagnosis of symptoms. The client was diagnosed as a low stress if his or her score reached 5, 11-20 as sever stress, and above 21 as adaptability disorder.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Scores of stress level were observed before and after therapy in both groups.RESULTS: The scores in the control group before and after therapy were approximately the same (15.6±5.3 vs 14.7±4.8, t=1.739, P > 0.05). The scores in the experimental group after therapy was significantly lower than those before therapy (11.6±5.8 vs 15.5±6.1, t=9.863, P < 0.05). After therapy, the scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (11.6±5.8 vs 14.7±4.8, t=4.811, P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: Sing a song loudly is an effective method that is easy to operate in treating psychological stress.

Objective:To investigate the effect of the BmK-9-(2) on the sodium current in guinea-pigventricular myocytes. Methods:The whole cell patch-clamp technique was used. Results:The BmK-9-(2)increased the magnitude of the peak inward sodium current (27 %) ,peak sodium conductace (17 %) and theprolong time course of sodium channel inactivation (8%) and there was no effects on calcium channels.Conclusion:BmK-9-(2) can activate sodium channel and prolong the inactivated course of myocytes.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(05):-
Objectives: To inveatigate Helicobacter pylo r i (Hp) in dental plaque and its relevance to gastric disease. Methods: 40 physical examination subjects were recruited. Subgingival plaque and gastric biopsy samples were respectively collected for detection of Hpby in vitroculture. Results: Hpwas identified in gastric biopsy from ten of thirty-seven (27.03%) subjects with proven chronic gastric disease. From five of the ten, Hpwas isolated in their dental plaque. None of three subjects without chronic gastric disease had Hpin their gastric bi opsy. However, Hpwas found in dental plaque from one of the three.C onclusion: The results suggest that dental plaque is an ecological niche of Hp. Oral Hpmay be related to chronic gastric disease.

Objective: To explore the correlation regarding the prognostic influence between multiple lung lobe lesions and acquired pneumonia in hospitalized elderly patients by a Meta-analysis. Methods: We collected all studies which investigated the correlation regarding the prognostic effect between multiple lung lobe lesions and acquired pneumonia by searching China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database, Chinese Biological Medical Literature Database, PubMed, and EMBase in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. hTe retrieval limit time of searches was from databases establishment to July 2014. hTe Meta-analysis was performed by using RevMan5.2 sotfware. We calculated the odds ratio (OR) and 95% conifdence interval (95% CI) by using heterogeneous tests.Publication bias was assessed by Egger’s test and funnel plot, and the sensitivity was analyzed. Results: Ten studies involving 1 836 patients were ifnally included, with 487 cases (the dead group) and 1 349 controls (the survival group). The Meta-analysis demonstrated that multiple lung lobe lesions was highly correlated with the prognosis for the aged acquired pneumonia (OR=3.22, 95% CI 1.84 to 5.63). Conclusion: Multiple lung lobe lesions increase the risk of death in the prognosis of the aged patients with acquired pneumonia.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the high incision infection rate in abdominal operation in order to take effective preventive measures.METHODS Totally 2302 cases of abdominal operation in general surgery were investigated retrospectively from Jan 2005 to May 2007.The diagnosis standard was based on the Diagnosis Standard of Hospital Infection(Draft) published by Ministry of Health of the People′s Republic of China in Jan 2001.RESULTS From them 113 cases suffered incision infection. The infection rate was 4.85%,accounted for 81.54% of all surgical operation incision infections. The pathogenic bacteria in the samples taken during the operation were the same as those in the secretion of postoperative incision in terms of species and source.CONCLUSIONS The key points of prevention of incision infection are sterile operation, flushing of abdominal cavity and enhanced detection of environment hygiene in operating room. The infection rate could be lowered through observation and nursing care of postoperative incision and proper use of antibiotics.
