Objective:Effects of oxymatrine on the sodium current were studied .Methods:The whole cell voltage clamp technique was used in isolated ventricular cells of guinea-pig.Results:Oxymatrine (0.1,0.3 and 1 mmol/L) showed inhibition to the sodium current in dose-dependence.Conclusion:These results indicate that inhibition of oxymatrine to the sodium current may be one of mechanisms of its antiarrhythmic action.

Objective To investigate the antitumor effects of phycoerythrin from Gracilaria lemaneiftheormis. Methods The coarse phycoerythrin(CPE) was ig administered to sarcoma180 mice, then the antitumor effect of CPE in vivo was evaluated by the inhibition rate, thymus and spleen indexes. The growth inhibitory effect of phycoerythrin(PE) on cell lines HeLa,EC109,and vascular endothelial in vitro was examined with MTT assay.Influences on HeLa cell cycle and apoptosis of PE were observed by flow cytometry and annexin v-fitc/PI fluorescence staining. Results CPE exhibited inhibitory effect against sarcoma180 growth in mice at the dosage of 100~300 mg?kg-1with a fair dose-effect relationship, and the inhibitory rate was 49.23% at the dosage of 300 mg? kg-1.CPE could also obviously increase the weight of thymus;PE could obviously inhibit the growth of HeLa cell in a dose-effect relationship, the inhibitory rate could reach more than 70%.It could prevent the transforming of HeLa cell cycle from G2/M to S phase to cause apoptosis. But PE couldn't inhibit the growth of EC109 cell, while some growth stimulating effects of PE on vascular endothelial cell were observed. Conclusion The PE from Gracilaria lemaneiftheormis could observably inhibit sarcoma180 growth in vivo.Effects of PE on different cells in vitro were differ, but showed potent inhibitory effect to HeLa cell.

Objective To observe the effects of eluting stents coated with arsenic trioxide(As2O3)and suspended in poly-L-lactic acid(PLLA)on expression of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1)and interleukin-6(IL-6)and to assess the effects of As2O3 eluting stents on local inflammatory reaction in injured coronary arteries in pigs. Methods Bare metal stents, rapamycin eluting stents and As2O3-eluting stents were randomly and double-blindly implanted into the anterior descending branches, circumflex branches and right coronary arteries in eight pigs.Animals were sacrificed and coronary arteries were isolated 7 days after stents implantation. The expression levels of protein and mRNA of MCP-1 and IL-6 were determined by Western blot analysis and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),and the inflammatory cell infiltration was observed by HE staining and immunohistochemistry. Results Compared to bare metal stents,As2O3-eluting stents and rapamycin-eluting stents identically and markedly inhibited the protein expression level of MCP-1(0.421±0.055 and 0.406±0.042 vs.0.857±0.053,P<0.01)and IL-6(0.151±0.032 and 0.146±0.051 vs.0.551±0.032,P<0.01)and correspondingly lowered the mRNA expression level of MCP-1(0.338±0.047 and 0.327±0.051 vs.0.724±0.027,P<0.01)and IL-6(0.531±0.052 and 0.523±0.061 vs.1.015±0.041,P<0.01),and significantly reduced the inflammatory cell infiltration of injured coronary arteries in pigs. Conclusions As2O3-eluting stents can effectively inhibit the expressions of MCp-1 and IL-6 and reduce the inflammatory cell infiltration of injured coronary arteries in pigs.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of fecal incontinence (FI) among adult women in Beijing area, and to analysis risk factors associated with FI. Methods A stratified multiple-cluster systemic method was used to recruit women ≥ 20 years old in 6 districts of Beijing. A self-administrated questionnaire was used to collect information about Fl and possible risk factors. Results There were three thousand and 58 women participated in the survey, the average age was (48 ± 16 ) years (range 20 -79 years). The prevalence of FI was 1.28% ( 39/3058 ), which was related to age. There were five factors entered the logistic regress model, which were included age ≥40 years old ( OR = 3.3, 95% CI: 1.7 -6. 8), urinary incontinence ( OR = 3.0, 95% CI: 1.5 - 6. 1 ), vaginal delivery ( OR = 2.4, 95% CI:1.2 -4. 9), household per capita income ≤2000 RMB per month ( OR = 3. 3, 95 % CI: 1.6 - 6. 5 ), and feeling fatigue ( OR = 3.0, 95% CI: 1.5 - 5.8). Conclusion Prevalence of FI is low among adult women in Beijing area, while risk factors associated with Fl are complicated and further studies are necessary to be conducted.

BACKGROUND:Osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease, is not only a result from the breakdown of joint cartilage and underlying bone, but also an imbalance of bone remodeling and crosstalk among tissues in the joints. OBJECTIVE: To review the effect of bone-cartilage crosstalk in the progression of osteoarthritis and its new treatment strategy. METHODS: A computer-based search of PubMed and CNKI databases was performed for relevant literatures about the relationship between the progress of osteoarthritis and the bone-cartilage crosstalk published from 2007 to 2017. The keywords were cartilage, interaction, osteoarthritis, pathogenesis, cytokines, signaling pathway in English and Chinese, respectively. The relationship between the progress of osteoarthritis and the bone-cartilage crosstalk was summarized in views of cytokines, signaling pathway, and new treatment strategy. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 169 articles were retrieved, and finally 54 eligible papers were enrolled based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. There is a close physical association between subchondral bone and cartilage, and the bone-cartilage interface is a functioning synergistic unit. Increased vascularization, micro-crack formation and abnormal bone remodeling may accelerate the molecules transporting from cartilage to bone in osteoarthritis. Therefore, the bone-cartilage crosstalk plays a pivotal role in the occurrence and development of osteoarthritis.
