OBJECTIVE: To investigate the expression of Dickkopf-1 and GATA-6 in laryngeal carcinoma and to discuss their relevance and the roles in carcinogenesis and development of laryngeal carcinoma. METHOD: Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expression of Dickkopf-1 and GATA-6 protein in 48 tissues of larynge al carcinoma, 48 para-carcinoma tissues and 20 normal laryngeal mucosal tissues. RESULT: (1) The expression of Dick kopf-1 protein in laryngeal cancer is significantly lower than in para-carcinoma tissues and normal laryngeal mucosa tissues (P < 0.05). (2) The expression of GATA-6 protein in laryngeal cancer is significantly higher than in para-carcinoma tissues and normal laryngeal mucosa tissues (P < 0.05). (3) The expression of Dickkopf-1 and GATA-6 protein in laryngeal cancer is correlated with lymph node metastasis, clinical stage, histological grade (P < 0.05). (4) The expression of Dickkopf-1 and GATA-6 are negatively correlated in laryngeal cancer. CONCLUSION The expression of Dickkopf-1 and GATA-6 may contribute to the carcinogenesis and development of laryngeal carcinoma.

Objective To investigate effects of hormone replacement therapy with conjugated equine estrogen (CEE) in different doses combined with medroxyprogesterone acetate ( MPA) on mammographic density among postmenopausal women and its clinical significance. Methods Ninety eligible postmenopausal women were randomized into three groups with varied treatment continuously for one year, Croup A receiving 0.3 mg CEE with 2 mg MPA and caltrate 600 mg and vitamin D 125 U daily; Group B receiving 0. 625 mg CEE combined with 2 mg MPA and caltrate 600 mg with vitamin D 125 U daily; and Group C receiving caltrate 600 mg and vitamin D 125 U daily. Mammographic density was analyzed using Wolfe and semi-quantitative methods for all of them and compared each other one year after treatment, as well as mammographic density before and after treatment in Groups A and B. Results One year after treatment, mammogrphic density reached the highest in postmenopausal woman of Group B and the lowest in those of Group C, with significant difference among the three groups (P ＜ 0. 01) and between Groups A and C (P ＜ 0. 01) and between Groups B and C ( P ＜ 0. 05 ). Mammogrphic density with semi-quantitative method increased significantly in Group A ( P ＜ 0. 05 ) and Group B ( P ＜ 0. 01 ), respectively, after treatment as compared with that before it. Change in mammografic density before and after treatment was greater in Group B than that in Group A, but not reaching statistically significant level (P ＞ 0. 05). Conclusions Hormone replacement therapy can cause the increase of mammographic density in postmenopausal women, possibly in a dose-dependent pattern, which suggest that HRT has side effect on breast tissue and the lowest effective dose of estrogen should be selected in HRT. Mammographic density can be used as an indicator to monitor side effect of HRT on breast.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Orem self-care nursing for patients with liver cirrhosis according to the comprehensive evaluation software system of organ function.Methods 80 patients with hepatitis B cirrhosis in our hospital were enrolled.The patients' condition was evaluated with comprehensive evaluation software system of organ function.According to the severity of the disease,Orem self-care option was taken.Chronic liver disease questionnaire(CLDQ) was used to evaluate the quality of life if the patients' condition permitted.Liver health knowledge questionnaire was used to evaluate the awareness rate of liver disease.1 month after discharge,the patients' quality of life and health knowledge were measured.Results Patients were discharged after 1 month in the average quality of life score of abdominal symptoms,systemic symptoms,fatigue,activity ability,emotion and anxiety respectively (5.74±1.52)points,(5.47±1.36) points,(5.83±1.57) points,(5.90±1.22) points,(5.79±1.67)points and (5.10±1.23)points,which were significantly higher than the first score (4.52±1.31)points,(4.17±1.48)points,(4.18±1.75)points,(4.26±0.98)points,(4.40±1.32)points and (4.35±1.08)points,the differences were statistically significant(t=-3.107,-3.527,-4.875,-4.963,-3.670,-2.805,all P<0.05).Patients were discharged from the hospital 1 month after liver disease knowledge rate was evaluated for the first time increased significantly(all P<0.05).Conclusion On the basis of patients' Organ function evaluation carried out for patients with liver cirrhosis Orem self-care care,the clinical effect is good,it is worthy of promotion.

Objective To explore the expression and significance of Dickkopf-1 (Dkk-1) and cell lymphoma/leukemia-2 (Bcl-2) protein in sinonasal squamoucell carcinoma(SNSCC) .MethodThe immunohistochemical SP method and Western blomethod were adopted to determine the expression of Dkk-1 and Bcl-2 in 30 specimenof SNSC(SNSCgroup) ,38 specimenof sinonasal inverted papillomas(SNIP group) and 20 specimenof middle turbinate mucosa(control group) .ResultThe expression of DKK-1 protein in the SNSCgroup wasignificantly down-regulated compared with the SNIP group and the control group ,while the expression of Bcl-2 protein in the SNSCgroup wasignificantly up-regulated compared with the SNIP group and the control group;in the SNSCgroup ,the positive rateof DKK-1 protein and Bcl-2 protein in the high and middle differentiation group and the low differentiation group were 100 .00% ,68 .75% ,33 .33% and 50 .00% ,62 .50% ,100 .00% respectively ,the differencewere statistically significan(P＜0 .05) .Conclusion Dkk-1 protein may play an importanpromoting role in the developmenand pro-gression procesof SNSC,the expression of Dkk-1 protein hanegative correlation with the expression of Bcl-2 protein in SNSC,which may become new targespoof SNSCgene therapy .

ObjectiveTo explore the role of CXCL16/CXCR6 axis on the metastasis of human lung cancer.MethodsImmunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry analysis were performed to detect the expression of CXCL16/CXCR6 in human lung cancer samples as well as A549,95D and H292 cell lines,respectively.The effects of CXCL16 on the viability and invasiveness of the three lung cancer cell lines were examined by MTT and in vitro invasion assay,respectively.ResultsHuman native lung cancer cells co-expressed CXCR6 and CXCL16 protein.Compared to the normal lung tissues,there was a stronger specific staining for both CXC16 and CXCR6 protein in the lung cancer tissues.Three kinds of lung cancer cell lines,including A549,95D and H292,all expressed CXCL16 and CXCR6 protein.Furthermore,human recombinant CXCL16 significantly promoted the viability and invasiveness of A549,95D and H292 cells.The stimulated action of CXCL16 on lung cancer cell lines could be effectively blocked by CXCL16 neutralizing antibody.Conclusion CXCL16 and CXCR6 protein are co-expressed in human native lung cancer.CXCL16 is able to promote the viability and invasiveness of lung cancer cell lines,which might be the molecular mechanisms on the metastasis of lung cancer.

OBJECTIVE: To summarize the clinical effect of TPF regimen in the treatment of hypopharyngeal carcinoma and explore various clinical factors affecting treatment efficacy. METHOD: The clinical data of 20 cases with hypopharyngeal carcinoma, who received TPF treatment, were analyzed retrospectively. After two courses of chemotherapy, based on radiographic outcomes, next treatment plan was developed. To sum up the clinical information, including the clinical type, patterns of tumor growth, pathologic type, tumor stage, lymph node metastasis, age and so on. To analyze possible influencing factors affecting curative effect. RESULT: (1) After 20 cases with hypopharyngeal carcinoma received two courses of TPF treatment, the effect was evaluated. Objective response rate was 65%. (2) In patients with hypopharyngeal carcinoma, the efficacy of TPF therapy was significantly related to the clinical type, patterns of tumor growth and pathologic type; there was no statistical significance in tumor stage, lymph node metastasis and age. CONCLUSION According to the clinical type, patterns of tumor growth and pathologic type of hypopharyngeal carcinoma, resistance to chemotherapy in hypopharyngeal carcinoma can be assessed, which provides important basis for designing individualized treatment plan.

Objective:To establish the quality control of Zhiqikang capsules. Methods:TLC was used to identify Gastrodia tuder halimasch, rhubarb and Astragalus mongholicus in the preparations. A spectrophotometry method with 3, 5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) was used to measure the polysaccharide content in Zhiqikang capsules. A spectrophotometry method with Forint phenol method ( Low-ry) was used to measure the peptide content in the capsules. Results:The linear range of polysaccharide was obtained between 6. 412 and 32. 060μg·ml-1(r=0. 999 5), the average recovery was 95. 86% and RSD was 0. 86%. The linear range of peptide was ob-tained between 0.059 7 and 0.298 4 mg·ml-1(r=0.999 0), the average recovery was 100.3% and RSD was 1.88%(n=6). Conclusion:The assay method is simple and accurate in the quality control of the preparations.

Objective To study the correlations of pelvic endometriosis cysts with pain and infertility according to the revised American Fertility Society (r-AFS) staging of endometriosis.Methods We retrospectively studied the clinical information of 258 cases patients with the ovarian endometriosis cysts who undergoing laparoscopic ovarian endometriosis cysts excision from January 2007 to December 2013.In accordance with the r-AFS,the correlation between pelvic adhesions and pain symptoms or infertility was evaluated.Results Among 258 cases with ovarian endometriosis cysts,there were 72.09％ (186/258) of patients presented pelvic pain and 16.28％ of patients presented infertility.The stages of r-AFS were that 16 cases in stage I,80 cases in stage Ⅱ,108 cases of in stage Ⅲ and 54 cases of stage Ⅳ.Also,186 cases with pain symptom,77.42％ (144/186) of patients were in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ,which was remarkably higher than that of no symptom group (25.00％ (18/72),x2 =64.017,P ＜ 0.05).Among 42 cases with infertility,there were 85.71％ (36/42) of patients were in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ,remarkably higher than of no infertility group (58.33％ (126/216),x2 =11.283,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The r-AFS stage of pelvic distribution in ovarian endometriosis cyst is closely correlated with pain symptoms and infertility.Patients in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ with pain and infertility are more significant.

Five field strains of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) were isolated from suspected flocks from different time and different regions of Shanxi province,respectively,and characterized by a series of systematic identification assays,such as morphological observation by electron-microscope,interfering with the propagation of NDV,virus pathological role to chicken embryo,virus pathological role to SPF chickens,hemagglutination activity,physiscochemical,and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The results showed:The typical coronavirus which the spherical virions 60-120 nm in diameter and surface covered with spike like corona were observed under electron-microscope)The propagation of NDV strain was seriously interfered by the 5 isolates respectively;The embryonated chicken egg passages of the 5 isolates could dwarf with chicken embryos;The five isolates had no hemagglutination activity,but after treatment with 1% trypsin,it can agglutinate chicken red blood cell.The strains are sensitive to chloroform and ethyl ether.The SPF chickens which inoculated with the 5 isolates showed clinical sign and result in respiratory and kidney diseases,flower-steak,and swollen with severe urate deposition.The specific fragments of N gene of the 5 isolates were amplified by RT-PCR,respectiveiy.On the basis of all above mentioned results,the 5 isolates were classified as IBV.The study got a good preparedness for further study on molecular epidemioogy of the 5 IBV isolates.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic values of MSCT for detecting atherosclerotic plaques on New Zealand rabbits models in comparison with pathologic results. Methods Fifteen New Zealand rabbits were enrolled in this study, including 5 with balloon injury and high-fat diet ( group A), 5 with high-fat diet only (group B) and 5 with regular feed (group C). 16th week late, contrast-enhanced MSCT scan was performed in all rabbits with 16 slice MSCT (16-MSCT) in group A and 64 slice MSCT (64-MSCT) in group B and C. The CT and pathological findings were compared in a double-blind manner. The sensitivities and specificities of 16-MSCT and 64-MSCT for detecting atherosclerotic plaques were evaluated by using Fisher test and x2 test. Results Sixty and seventy-five images on 16-MSCT and 64-MSCT had corresponding pathological slices. The sensitivities for the detection of plaques on 16-MSCT and 64-MSCT were 41.5% (22/53) and 64. 9% (24/37), and spocificities of 85. 7% (6/7) and 89. 5% (34/38), respectively. Conclusions 64-MSCT has a higher sensitivity in the detection of atherosclerotic plaques than 16-MSCT. Both scanners can be used to preclude the diagnosis of atherosclerosis.
