4.Efficiency of hypertonic saline hydroxyethyl starch versus mannitol in the treatment of increased intracranial pressure in neurosurgical patients -a randomized clinical trial
Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2015;37(4):122-125
Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of 7.2%hypertonic saline hydroxyethyl starch 200/0.5(HES) and 15% mannitol in the treatment of increased intracranial pressure( ICP) .Methods 112 neurosurgical patients at risk of increased ICP were randomized divided into 2 group to receive either HES or 15% mannitol at a defined infusion rate, which was stopped when ICP was<15 mmHg.Results Of the 112 patients, 58 patients received HES and 54 received mannitol 15%.In eight patients, ICP did not exceed 20 mmHg in treatment was not necessary. Both drugs decreased ICP below 15 mmHg (P<0.0001);HES within 6.0(1.2~15.0) min(all results are presented as median (minimum-maximum range) and mannitol within 8.7(4.2~19.9) min(P<0.0002).HES caused a greater decrease in ICP than mannitol (57% vs 48%; P<0.01).The cerebral perfusion pressure was increased from 60 (39~78) mmHg to 72 (54 ~85) mmHg by infusion with HES (P<0.0001) and from 61(47 ~71) mmHg to 70(50 ~79) mmHg with mannitol ( P <0.0001 ).The mean arterial pressure was increased by 3.7% during the infusion of HES but was not altered by mannitol. There were no clinically relevant effects on electrolyte concentrations and osmolarity in the blood. The mean effective dose to achieve an ICP below 15 mmHg was 1.4 (0.3~3.1) mL/kg for HES and 1.8(0.45~6.5) mL/kg for mannitol (P<0.05).Conclusion HES is more effective than mannitol 15% in the treatment of increased ICP.A dose of 1.4 mL/kg of HES can be recommended as effective and safe. The advantage of HES might be explained by local osmotic effects, because there are no clinically relevant differences in hemodynamic clinical chemistry parameters;efficacy.

OBJECTIVE: To review research advances of Mitsugumin-29 (MG29) protein and its relationship with skeletal muscle aging. DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search of CNKI (http://www.chkd.cnki.net), Duxiu (http://edu.duxiu.com) and SSReader (http://edu.sslibrary.com) with key words of MG29 and skeletal muscle aging in Chinese; Elsevier SD (http:llwww.sciencedirect.com) and Springer Link (http:llspringer.metapress.comlhomelmain.mpx) with key words of MG29, aging skeletal muscle, sarcopenia. In addition, related articles were manually searched.DATA SELECTION: Inclusion criteria: location, structure and function of MG29; MG29 and skeletal muscle aging; MG29 and exercise; related articles aimed to the content with large impact factor. Exclusion criteria: repetitive studies or Meta analysis.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: MG29 has close relationship with skeletal muscle aging.RESULTS: In recent years, extensive researches have been conducted to discover the mechanisms underlying skeletal muscle aging by investigators home and abroad from histology, biochemistry and molecular biology. It is universally accepted that the changes in the cellular homeostatic capacity for Ca~(2+) is a core factor in regulating excitation contraction coupling, and it dynamic balance is the major cause of skeletal muscle aging. MG29, which is located in the membrane of transverse tubule, is a protein that is newly found to modulate Ca~(2+) signal resembling the synaptophysins. Studies have shown that the level of MG29 reduced 50% in old skeletal muscle. Similar phenotypes to aging skeletal muscles have been observed in adolescent muscle null for MG29 which is involved in muscle weakness, increased susceptibility to muscle fatigue, fragmented sarcoplasmic reticulum networks, swollen transverse tubule system, altered calcium sparks, segregated Ca~(2+) reserve and so on. These suggest that MG29 and aging skeletal muscle are closely related.CONCLUSION: It has been confirmed that MG29 is highly correlated with aging skeletal muscle. However, studies concerning MG29 improvement to delay skeletal muscle aging should be conducted subsequently.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To investigate Chlamydia trachomatis infection and gene variants in child- bearing women in Beijing. Methods Endocervical samples were collected from 177 patients in a family planning clinic and a gynecologic clinic. C.trachomatis infection was screened with a fast diagnostic kit .Major outer membrane protein(MOMP) gene was amplified by a nested PCR . A 1.1kb amplified product was obtained and studied by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis(RFLP). Variant domains of MOMP gene VS1,VS2,VS3,VS4 were sequenced with 373A automated sequencing system. Results C. trachomatis was found in 9 of 177 samples. Four samples were identified as F genotype, 3 E genotype and 2 D genotype. Variant domains of MOMP gene, VS1, VS2, VS3, VS4 were sequenced and the results were consistent with those of RFLP, however, mutations were found in MOMP gene in 4 samples. Conclusion C.trachomatis urogenital infection has been identified in a portion of child- bearing women in Beijing. C.trachomatis can be well genotyped with RFLP or gene sequencing of MOMP gene.

Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 1998;0(03):-
Objective To compare the histological fates and the effects of autologous fat and fascia used as augmentative materials to treat unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP). Methods Vocal fold augmentation with autologous fat and fascia was performed on 2 dogs (group A) to cure glottic insufficiency caused by left vocal fold paralysis. Autologous fat and fascia 0.4 ml were injected respectively into left and right vocal folds of 9 dogs (group B). The dogs of group B were killed after 1,3 and 5 months and the dogs of group A were killed after 8 months. The histology of both substances and the effect of treatment were evaluated. Results Surviving autologous fat grafts was found in the canine vocal fold after 8 months, but the absorption was too rapid to maintain the bulk of grafts, the effect could last no more than 5 months. Autologous fascia also survived after 8 months, Conclusion The results showed that these two augmentative materials were both effective in the treatment of IJVFP. Autologous fat can only be used as short - term augmentative material. However, autologous fascia has a potential use for long - term application to correct glottic insufficiency caused by UVFP and other diseases.
