Objective To investigate the clinical effects of mucosolvan on the respiratory tract in elderly patients with long-time tracheal intubation for upper abdominal operation. Methods A total of 88 elderly patients to receive upper abdominal surgery were randomly divided into 2 groups:the treatment group (n=41,treated with antibiotics and mucosolvan 90 mg,iv,bid, for 7 consecutive days) and the control group (n=39,with the same antibiotics but without mucosolvan).Patients indwelling endotracheal tube≤3 hours were excluded.Lung function [forced vital capacity (FVC),forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1),FEV1/FVC ratios (FEV1%)],blood gas analysis (pH,PaCO2,PaO2) and lung condition changes were compared between the two groups before and after surgery. Results There was a significant difference in blood gas analysis between the two groups 3 days after surgery (P<0.05).There were differences in FEV1 and FEV1% between the two groups 5 days after surgery (P<0.05),but no differences were found in FVC in the two groups before versus after surgery. There were significant differences in the incidences of pulmonary infection and atelectasis between the treatment group and the control group [4.9 % vs.23.1% (2 cases vs.9 cases),0% vs.10.3% (0 cases vs.4 cases),respectively, both P<0.05].Conclusions Mucosolvan has a better protective effect on the respiratory tract in elderly patients undergoing upper abdominal surgery and the synergies can be achieved in combination with antibiotics.

Objective To establish a canine model of fulminate hepatic failure ( FHF) and study the treatment of FHF by partial orthotopic liver transplatation(POLT).Methods Carbon tetrachloride (CCL4) mixed with the same amount of peanut oil in the dosage of 0.9 ml per kilogram of body weight was injected intraperitoneally to canines. ALT,tolal bilirubine(TB), PT, NH 4,and blood suger(BG) were monitored. The pathological changes were observed when the canine died, remain alived animal were killed on 7th day and 14th day respectively. EEG was performed on 3rd day after the model eslablished. Results After CCl 4 was injected, the canine showed progressive hepatic failure, ALT, TB and NH rose persistantly, PT prolonged, and BG decreased (P

Objective To explore the significance of palpation-negative breast tumor resection with ultrasound-guided methylene blue labeling and percutaneous suture traction. Methods 46 cases of small breast tumors with the diameter from 0.5 cm to 1.0 cm were double labeled with methylene blue under the guide of ultrasound l hour preoperatively. The tumors were fixed, drew outward with percutaneous suture and resected accurately. All the 46 cases were rechecked by ultrasound to verify whether residual or false resection occurred 1 month later. Results All the 58 tumors of the 46 patients were accurately resected. No residue or false resection occurred. The average operation duration was 10 min to 20 min. Conclusion Palpable-negative breast tumor resection with ultrasound-guided methylene blue labeling and percutaneous suture traction has the advantages of small invasion, accurate positioning and short operation duration.
