The crystal structural data of TACE, MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9 were obtained from PDB database, and then their catalytic domains' properties including conformation, molecular surface hydrophobicity and electrostatic potential were analyzed and compared by using Insight II molecular modeling software. It was found that the conformation and molecular surface hydrophobicity of catalytic domains of TACE and MMPs were not obviously different, but the molecular surface electrostatic potential of catalytic domain of TACE and MMPs had obvious differences. The findings are helpful in the Rational Drug Design of TACE selective inhibitor.

Objective To assess the application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in evaluation of the renal cortical and medullary perfusion changes before and after acute renal failure (ARF) in rabbits. Methods Rabbit ARF models were established with intramuscular 50% glycerin (12-15 ml/kg) injection into rabbits' thighs. One day before and after ARF models establishment, CEUS was performed on each rabbit. The renal perfusion time-intensity curve (TIC) was analyzed, including parameters like AT (arrival time), TTP (time to peak intensity), A (amplitude of peak intensity), AUC (area under the curve), β (slope rate of TIC) of renal cortex and medulla. Results The value of A and β before model establishment was (17.36±13.73) dB and (5.38±2.08) dB/s, respectively, both was significantly higher than those after glycerin injection ([6.59±4.25] dB and [1.58±1.41] dB/s, respectively) (P<0.05). The value of TTP and AUC before model establishment was (2.46±1.76) s and (329.31±171.70) dBs, both was significantly lower than those after injection ([5.93±4.80] s and [722.28±354.14] dBs, respectively) (P<0.05). No significant difference was found in AT of renal cortex and AT, A, TTP, AUC, β of renal medulla, nor in SCr or BUN. Conclusion CEUS can display the changes of perfusion image of the renal cortex of the ARF earlier than SCr and BUN.

Objective To interpret the clinicopathological features and the key factors for diagnosis of polyomavirus-associated nephropathy (PVAN).Methods Clinicopathological data of 13casesof polyomavirus-associatednephropathyduring2008-2011inour hospitalwere retrospectively analyzed.Three cases received repeat biopsy. The clinicopathological features were analyzed according to thelight microscopicsceneandSV40-Timmunochemicalexpression.Results Recipients had a peak incidence of PVAN in 12 to 18 months period after renal transplantation, accompanied by elevated serum creatinine.Due to the progression of the disease,3patterns of histological findings could be identified. The early lesion was confined to the collected ducts, with slightly inflammatory infiltration in medullary interstitium, viral inclusions were not necessarily seen. The only findings could be enlarged nuclear and irregular arrangement of the tubular epithelial cells. At the developing stage, prominent tubulointerstitial nephritis was detected, and the involved tubules extended to other segments of renal tubule, even the parietal epithelial cells of Bowman's capsule could be compromised. The epithelial cells shed off, leading the tubular basement membrane exposed.Typical intra-nuclear inclusions as well as variable nuclear changes were found. At the end stage, the allograft showed notable chronic tubulointersititial change, with diffuse tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis.Although in this period, typical viral inclusions were rare, stillIHCshowedpositiveexpression of SV40-T. After immunosuppressantreductionor exchange,2 cases developed renal failure,4 cases showed sustained increment in serum creatinine, while 7 cases had a stabilized serum creatinine level. Conclusions Polyomavirus-associated nephropathy can display uneven pathological changes,as well as the morphology of the infected epithelial cells.Segments of the involved tubule are associated with the course of disease.Reduction of immunosuppressant at the early stage has a favorable effect.A prompt renal biopsy should be done in renal transplant recipient if who shows increased serum creatinine, and a routine polyomavirus immunohistochemical staining should be applied as well.

BACKGROUND: There are less researches on the relationship of parents'feeding behavior with nourishing and developing status of infants.OBJECTIVE: To study the relationship between the parents' feeding behavior and the nourishing and developing status of infants.DESIGN: A cross-sectional study.SETTING: Center of Maternal and Children' s Health, the First Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.PARTICIPANTS: The study was carried out during January to December in 2002,at the Center of Maternal and Children' s Health,The First Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. A total of 346 infants, aged 0 to 18 months old, were selected from the Fuping county and Chengcheng county of Weinan area by using the stratified duster sampline method. Inclusive criteria: infants with the gestation period between 37 to 42 weeks, without obvious diseases,no congenital abnormality; Exclusive criteria: infants with congenital disease or abnormality. Totally 324 infants, who were in accordance with the above criteria, were divided into 5 groups according to their month age.METHODS: The nursing persons of the infants were called at their houses, and the self-designed "Investigation Tables on Infant's Nutrition"were filled out.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Status of slight malnutrition of infants of different month ages; ② Status of nutrition and development of infants, within 4 months, with different feeding behaviors; ③ Effects of beginning time, quality and frequency of complementary food on the nourishing and developing status of infants.RESULTS: In the first 4 months after birth, the rate of breast-feeding was high and the nourishing status of the infants was good. But the nourishing and developing status of infants became comparatively worse after 4 months age, because of inappropriate complementary food. As compared the slight malnutrition infants with normal infants, there were significant differences in the beginning time and kinds of complementary food(P<0.01).CONCLUSION: There is close relationship of the feeding behaviors with the nourishing and developing status of the infants.
