Objective To present the changing of the parameters of orbital volume after endoscopic transethmoid medial orbital wall decompression combined with the endoscopic transethmoid intraconal fat-removal orbital decompression in thyroid associated ophthalmopathy (TAO).Methods A retrospective chart was reviewed in 11 patients (20 eyes) receiving orbital decompression for the treatment of exophthalmos secondary to TAO from September 2014 to August 2015. All patients diagnosed TAO were in stable and inactive phase at least for 6 months. High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scan were performed in all patients before and 3-month after surgery. CT scan of orbit and computer-aided measurement software were used to measure the exophthalmos. Changing of the parameters of orbital volume were recorded for analysis its relationship with the amount of proptosis reduction. Results The exophthalmos was signiifcantly decreased after surgery. Medial rectus volume, fat volume and orbital volume were larger postoperatively. The changing of rectus volume and fat volume both had negative correlationship with the amount of proptosis. Conclusions The thickening of medial rectus 3-month postoperative may due to the removing of medial wall of orbit during the surgery. The stimulation of the surgery may be another reason. The changing of rectus volume and fat volume both had negative correlationship with the amount of proptosis.

Objective:
To track and investigate the changes in visual acuity of primary and secondary school students in Henan Province during the COVID-19 pandemic home confinement, so as to provide theoretical basis for the prevention and control of myopia.
Methods:
A cohort study design was employed for this research. In September 2019, visual acuity tests were conducted among 2 222 primary and secondary school students by Multi stage random cluster sampling method from four cities in Henan Province, including Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, Zhoukou, and Pingdingshan. A follow up study was conducted in June 2020, with on site visual acuity tests and questionnaire surveys. Wilcoxon rank sum test, Kruskal Wallis rank sum test, Chi square test, one way analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression model were used to analyze the changes in visual acuity of primary and secondary school students and the influencing factors from 2019 to 2020.
Results:
Compared with 2019, the overall myopia rate of students increased in 2020, and the difference was statistically significant (55.7%, 64.9%, χ 2=1 035.91, P <0.01), and the difference between mild, moderate and severe myopia rates occurred at 2 years (2019:32.4%, 18.8%, 4.4%, 2020:36.7%, 22.5%, 5.7%, χ 2= 8.43, 9.23, 3.94, P <0.05). The myopia incidence rate of primary and secondary school students in 2020 was 28.3%. As presented in multiple linear regression analysis, middle school, grade 4th-6th and grade 1st-3rd of primary school, low economic level, using television for online classes, the study desk being not bright on sunny days, without looking far away during breaks, the brightness of the study desk and desktop which was average on sunny days, and using roof lamp only when studying at night were associated with myopia progression among students ( B=-0.16, -0.18, -0.20, -0.06, -0.21, -0.13, -0.11, -0.40, P <0.05).
Conclusions
During 2019-2020, primary and secondary school students in Henan Province experience a progression towards myopia, which is comprehensively influenced by education stage, economic level, the habit of using eyes, and visual environment. Myopia prevention and control should be actively intervened and strengthened to improve the eye environment for primary and secondary school students, in order to slow down the development of myopia.

The prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in China is now at a key stage. The tasks faced by the medical organs are fighting against the COVID-19 while providing the medical services orderly. As a Specialist medical institution nationwide, ophthalmic hospitals are resuming receiving patients and performing operations gradually, including precision interruption of the epidemic, prevention of the secondary virus transmission, and avoidance of nosocomial cross infection among health care providers are required. We explored a multifaceted management for the prevention and control of epidemic, with a special focus on the individual protection for patients and medical staffs. A preliminary positive effect can be observed as a result. The main measures taken cover two aspects. On the one hand, 2019-nCoV ribonucleic acid (RNA) detection and hematological indices inspection including C-reactive protein (CRP) and serum amyloid A (SAA) are listed as routine tests of preoperative screening for ocular surgical patients. These tests are required to be completed upon the admission to avoid the possibility of accepting any asymptomatic infected individual and to reduce the risk of nosocomial cross infection. On the other hand, the 2019-nCoV RNA detection is also provided to high-risk employees who visited affected area recently. This assists in obtaining guarantee in both safety and quality of medical services provided, but also helps in lessening the mental and spiritual stress for medical staffs. It is expected that these measures can contribute to the work of our peers of ophthalmology in the prevention and control of COVID-19 and to the safe environment where the medical services are provided, and provide a reference for other outbreak of virus-causing disease.

Objective:To evaluate the roles between two different HIV self-testing models in promoting HIV-testing among men who have sex with men (MSM).Methods:This paper focuses on two HIV self-testing service models. The first; is the online self-testing model (HIV self-testing conventional model) with the sexual health promotion network platform. The other one is an innovative HIV self-testing model (secondary distribution model), based on the previous program. The two different self-testing models, including the number of indexes and alters, the positive rate, and the demographics of indexes and alters, are compared. The influence of volunteers with or without leadership on the number of HIV self-test kits distributed or self-use is analyzed through the leadership survey scale. Results:The return rates of HIV self-testing results in the two models are 94.7%(323/341) and 99.2%(1 141/1 150), respectively, within 30 days. The proportion of alters in the secondary distribution is significantly higher (45.9%,281/612) than the conventional HIV self-testing (6.3%,20/318). In the secondary distribution model, the difference between the number of indexes and alters indicators including age, marital status, residence, sex orientation, anal sex with men in the past six months, and HIV test are statistically significant ( χ 2 test, all P<0.05). The opinion leader of MSM has significantly impacted the promotion of HIV self-testing ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Both models can promote HIV self-testing, result return, and HIV positive detection among MSM. In terms of expanding the testing and detection of HIV positive, the secondary distribution mode shows more obvious advantages, which significantly promotes a large number of MSM who have never been tested for HIV to undergo HIV testing. Influential indexes have a significant effect on increasing the HIV testing rate and promoting HIV testing among MSM.
