Objective To study the efficacy and safety of intracavitary injection of endostar combined with chemotherapy of malignant pleural effusion.Methods 46 cases with malignant pleural effusion were divided into groups of intracavitary injection of endostar combined with chemotherapy of malignant pleural effusion (treatment group)and groups of intracavitary chemotherpy(control group)randomly,pleural effusion of the patients from the two groups were injected cisplatin(DDP)60mg into the thorax and 45mg of endostar,The same therapy applied to the control group except adding endostar,twice a week,in 2 -4 rounds,the efficacy and safety of the two groups were studied.Results The effective rate of the treatment groups was 58.3%,which was higher than 31.8%of the control group (χ2 =4.547,P<0.05).The improvement rate of quality of life was 75.0% in the treatment group,which was higher than 59.1% in the control group (χ2 =5.371,P<0.05).The toxicities of the treatment group were not increased significantly.Conclusion The therapy of intracavitary injection of endostar combined with chemotherapy of malignant pleural effusion is effective and secure.

Objective To discuss the clinical effect of using autologous quadriceps tendon fixed by a patellar block as the graft to reconstruct posterior cruciate ligament (PCL ) under arthroscopy on a single-bundle way .Methods We treated 21 patients with damaged PCL using autologous quadriceps tendon fixed by a patellar block as the graft and absorbable interference screw fixation to reconstruct PCL under arthroscopy on a single-bundle way .Their functional recovery was evaluated by Lysholm scoring ,Tegner scoring and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) criteria .Results All 21 patients got successful surgery on PCL reconstruction and multiple trauma ,no patients lost to follow-up .The subjective symptoms were improved after operation ,the post-operative Lysholm score and Tegner score were both significantly enhanced and showed statistical significance compared with the preoperative scores(P<0 .01) .Conclusion Using autologous quadriceps tendon fixed by a patellar block as the graft to reconstruct PCL on a single-bundle way leads to satisfactory short term clinical effects ,however ,the long term clinical effects remain to be eval-uated .

Objective To determine whether attention allocation deficits contribute to nonfluent aphasia during orthography, phonology, and semantic processing with Chinese characters. Methods Sixteen patients and sixteen controls participated in single and dual tasks. In the single task participants were required to read Chinese characters silently and to make radical, semantic, and final sound judgments (for example, whether the charactersincluded the sound 'ang' ) simultaneously. During the dual task the only difference was that the participants wereasked to read the presented characters aloud and make the same three judgments. Reaction time and error rate were recorded and analysed. Results Reaction times in orthographic judgment were significantly longer for patients than for controls in both task setups. The error rate was also significantly higher. The patients' reaction times in makingphonological judgments in the dual task were significantly longer than in the single task, but there was no significantdifference in error rates between the patients and the controls. In making semantic judgments, neither reaction times nor error rates differed significantly with either the single or dual task protocol. Conclusion Attention allocation deficits play a key role in Chinese character orthographic and phonological processing for nonfluent aphasia sufferers.

BACKGROUND: Cervical orthosis is one of the non-surgical therapeutic methods for the remedy of cervical deformities. Return visits were made afterwards for the evaluation of the treatment effects of MCO.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Resutls of therapeutic effectiveness evaluation.RESULTS: All nineteen patients with cervical deformities due to burn reached the effects of correcting cervical flexion and restoring cervical functions through wearing orthosis. The cervical functions restored entirely in seven cases, almost restored in eight cases and improved in four cases.CONCLUSION: MCO can be clinically used on cervical deformities resulted by burn and provide good effects on remedy and rehabilitation.

After HRP was injected into the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral segments of the spinal cord of the rat, the spinal projections of the locus coeruleus were studied by means of fluorescence histochemistry. The NAergic fibers arising from the locus coeruleus (LC) projected to the various levels of the spinal cord, and the topographical organization was observed, the neurons of the LC-spinal projections were located predominantly in the ventral part of the LC, but a few cells were also found in the dorsal part which projected to the cervical cord. The neurons projecting to the cervical cord from the LC were mainly located in the caudal part of the LC and the neurons projecting to the sacral cord were mainly located in the rostral part of the LC, but some overlapping existed.

A retrospective clinical study of 121 cases and a prospective one of 21 cases of acute cholargitis of severe type(ACST)were carried out in order to probe the optimal time of emergency operation for those patients with ACST.The results indicated that the principle of clinical management for ACST is a combination of emergency operation and energetic active conservation therapy.Conservative treatment is practically qualified for the majority of ACST,especially,those cases with short history and a few complication.The survival prediction mathematical model reported previously is helpful to select the optimal time for an emergency operation.The regression value 0.40 of the model can be a reference of the predictive critical point for an operation.The mathematical model possesses more advantage than the traditional method.

Fifty-one cases of menopause syndrome were randomly divided into three groups, 21 cases in the acupuncture and cupping group, 10 cases in the acupuncture group, and 20 cases in the ear acupuncture group, and were respectively treated by acupuncture plus cupping therapy, acupuncture,and ear acupuncture. The total effective rate was respectively 80.9%, 20.0% and 80.0%. The therapeutic effect was better in the treatment of menopause syndrome by acupuncture plus cupping therapy than by single acupuncture treatment or ear acupuncture (P＜0.05).

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of intensity modulated radio-therapy(IMRT)syn -chronization TP chemotherapy combined with afterloading radiotherapy for advanced cervical cancer.Methods 58 cases of advanced cervical cancer patients were randomly divided into the chemotherapy combi-nation with radiotherapy(observation group,30cases)and radiotherapy alone(control group,28cases),Both groups were treated with external IMRT combined with afterloading radiotherapy,patients of the observation group were accepted concurrent chemoradiotherapy for TP regimen,and the patents of the control group were only accepted radio-therapy,the short -term curative effect,adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results The effective rate of the control group was 71.4%,which of the observation group was 83.3%.the observation group short -term curative effect was better than that of control group,with a significant difference(χ2 =4.247,P <0.05),whereas the incidence rates of radiation cystitis,radiation proctitis,myelosuppresson and digestive tract reaction were not signifi-cantly different between two groups(P >0.05)no serious.Conclusion It can allow the patients with advanced cervi-cal cancer to benefit from the concurrent chemoradiotherapy.
