Through several thousand years’ inheritance and development by Chinese people, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has formed its unique theoretic system, whose efficacy has been widely accepted. However, because TCM theory focuses on the relationships among syndromes, treatment and efficacy, instead of the cause-and-effect relationship explored by modern natural science, the scientificity of TCM has always been questioned. In recent years, because virtual-world clinical research mode and the concept of “big data” were emphasized, increasing researchers began to put their research emphasis on the correlativity between intervening measures of diseases and outcome indicators. This change and the advancement of computer data mining and analysis technology, bring great opportunities for the further development of TCM theory and practice. This article concluded data mining technology used in TCM diagnosis and treatment in recent years, such as clustering analysis, decision tree, Bayesian network, neural network and multi-instance learning, which showed how to apply these methods to reveal rules of TCM diagnosis and treatment from a large number of TCM syndrome data, find knowledge hidden in data, and show TCM effectiveness supported by data.

The publication of the scientific theses and their management are significant for the development of technology and science in the hospital.Therefore.they play an important role iU the hospital management. The retrospective analysis on the theses that published in the last 5 years and embodied by SCI was conducted using the statistics method and analyzed the first 10 departments in the published theses in this paper. The specialty of our hospital and the shortcoming in the scientific research was concluded from the analysis result. The amount of the theses increased steadily, and the research capability of the key subjects and key departments were promoted. The amount and the quality of the theses reflected an important indicator of the development strategy that means to develop the hospital through science.technology and education. Therefore, these conclusions could offer some valuable information to the manage department of t}le hospital.

As the spreading of AIDS over the world, to research effective anti-HIV drugs is required. The review contains the process of discovering targets for anti-HIV especially entry/infuse, reverse transcriptase, protease and integrase, and describes the effective component of traditional Chinese drugs for these targets and the anti-HIV drugs being researched or used in clinic.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Yangxue Qingnao Granule (YQG) on the expression of CD11b in CA1 region of hippocampus of vascular dementia rats, and to explore its regulation on microglias.
METHODSTotally 144 SD rats were randomly divided into the sham-operation group, the vascular dementia model group (model), and the YQG treated group (treated). The vascular dementia rat model was prepared by modified Pulsinelli's four-vessel occlusion. Rats in the sham-operation group and the model group were administered with normal saline -(at the daily dose of 10 mL/kg) by gastrogavage, while those in the treated group were administered with YQG (0.32 g/mL, at the daily dose of 10 mL/kg) by gastrogavage. All administration was performed once per day for 8 successive weeks. The expression of CD11b in CA1 region of hippocampus of vascular dementia rats was detected at week 1, 2, 4, and 8, respectively.
RESULTSCompared with the sham-operation group, the expression of CD11b in CA1 region of hippocampus of vascular dementia rats were significantly enhanced in the model group at each time point (P < 0.01). Compared with the model group, the expression of CD11b in CA1 region of hippocampus of vascular dementia rats significantly decreased in the treated group at each time point (P < 0.01), especially at week 2.
CONCLUSIONObvious activation and proliferation of microglias could be seen in CA1 region of hippocampus of vascular dementia rats, and YQG could inhibit activation and proliferation of microglias.

Journal of China Medical University 2010;(2):92-94
Objective To compare the two ways of twice irradiation on the rabbit liver VX2 tumor using high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU).Methods Totally 45 tumor-bearing rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups:group A(one-time irradiation group) received a one-time ablation;group B and C(twice irradiation group) firstly received a low-dose irradiation(without ablation),then group B received ablation on the next day while group C received it 2 days later. Results Compared with one-time irradiation group, the total treatment time of twice irradiation group was not significantly different, but the time of each irradiation, the incidence of skin erythema and the energy efficiency factor(EEF)were less, and that of group B were the least. After ablation, the typical coagulation necrosis in tumor tissues occurred, and the recurrence and metastasis were effectively controlled in all the three groups. Conclusion The total treatment time and efficacy of twice irradiation were same as one-time ablation, but the time and dose of each irradiation significantly decreased, the damage efficiency was enhanced and the complications were reduced. The way of continuous two-days twice irradiation was the most effective, which would be a safe and effective method of HIFU treatment.

The functional framework of information management system for regional medical and health institutions was established according to the 5 application systems (public health, medical service, medical support, drug supply support and general management ) and the target to develop 2 databases ( a resident electronic health records data-base and a resident electronic medical records database ) and an operational network put forward in the overall framework of health information construction during The National Twelfth-5 Year Plan Period, based on the functional position of health institutions at different levels. The difficulties to realize the target of the national 3521 project and its prospects were pointed out.
