Objective To observe the influence of Dunhuang Nourishing Cream on the contents of SOD, GSH-PX and MDA in skin of aged rats. Methods Female SD rats of SPF level were divided into 6 groups:high, moderate and low dose groups of Dunhuang Nourishing Cream, model contrasting group, positive contrasting group and blank contrasting group. After removed the hair on the back, the drug groups were applied with Dunhuang Nourishing Cream, the model group was applied with the matrix of Dunhuang Nourishing Cream and the positive group was applied with vitamin E. This paper analyzed the problems in eight-year program medical education including vertical curriculum design,traditional teaching model and written test-based evaluation system based on the theory of translational medicine and evidence-based medicine.With the social progress,these old systems are not helpful to produce innovative thinking,mobilize students'subjective initiative and cultivate self learning capacity.Finally,this paper proposed measures for curriculum reform from the aspects of curriculum design,teaching mode transformation and evaluation optimization aiming at reaching the educational goal of eight-year program.

OBJECTIVETo study the relationship between the protection of Ginsenoside(GS) for spinal cells and nitric oxide (NO).

METHODSpinal cells were cultured in vitro, the model of peripheral nerve was established by scarifying the cells, and NO was measured by Griess method.

RESULTNO in injury group was high than that in noninjury group and NO in group cultured by GS was less than that in group cultured by common medium.

CONCLUSIONNO increases when peripheral nerve is injuried, and the protective effect of GS on spinal cells may be through inhibiting NO release.

Background During the past two decades, a number of rating scales were developed to facilitate diagnosis and assessment of subjects with social anxiety disorder. One of the most commonly used scales for the assessment of social anxiety disorder is the Liebowitz social anxiety scale (LSAS). The LSAS is widely used in epidemiologic investigations and clinical researches,and its assessment in the pharmacotherapy efficacy for social anxiety disorder is superior to any other scale. So we designed this study to explore the validity and reliability of the LSAS in Chinese patients with social anxiety disorder and normal control, and to find the difference of the scores between the patients self -report version and clinician-administered version. Methods Fifty five patients meeting the DSM-Ⅳ diagnostic criteria for social anxiety disorder and 168 normal controls who were screened from 222 college students were rated by LSAS, social phobia scale and self-made General Information Forms. Results The Cronbath α of LSAS for the patients and the normal controls was 0.83 and 0.77, respectively. The 4-week test-retest reliability for total scores and its factors scores of LSAS in 31 normal controls were ranging from 0.68 to 0.79. The ROC area under curve value in discriminating the patients from normal controls was 0.87±0.03; the total score of 35 was considered to be the best cut-off score for LSAS, then its sensitivity was 0.77 and its specificity was 0.81; and no significant difference between the self-report version and clinician-administered version. Conclusions The LSAS is good in internal consistency and test-retest reliability, and has high sensitivity and specificity in discriminating the patients and the controls. There is no significant difference in the total score and each factor scores of LSAS between self-report version and clinician-administered version.

Aimed at feasibility of microbiological control of Chironomidae larvae in sourcewater, Shenzhen, China, the functional characters of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Iaraelensis to Chironomus kiiensis tokunaga were studied for the first time. In this study, bioassays were carried out with third-instar larvae, results showed that the LC 50 s(24h) were 24.2 and 32.6 mg/L for Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Iaraelensis IPS82 and 187 respectively. Tests in fermentation of IPS82 show good correlations between toxicity, cell density, dissolved oxygen and spore-forming phase. The tests on environmental factors influencing toxicity to Chironomus kiiensis tokunaga showed that sunlight is the most important factor, shortening the half life of Bti from 21 days in dark to 10 days; temperature variations(15～30℃) caused no impact on toxicity, but 35℃ increases 16% of larvae mortality. The toxicity of IPS82 is relatively insensitive to change pH deviated from 7 to 11, due to drop of larvae mortality from 66.7 to 40%, at pH of 3, to 16%; its toxicity is stable in low larva density (

Conclusion Fluid sign is characteristic in acute,subacute and early chronic trauma vertebral compression fracture for bone marrow edema,while it is rare in metastatic tumor vertebral compression fracture.It may paly a role in the differentiation of benign and malignant vertebral compression fracture.

To investigate the influence of Anxin granules combined with tirofiban on acute myocardial infarction (AMI) Patients after elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). One hundred and twenty AMI patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The patients in the two groups were all given Tirofiban 30mins before PCI . The treatment group was added Anxin granules 30 mins before and after PCI. Tissue factor (TF) and von willebrand factor (vWF) were tested at 6 hours after operation. Syndromatology alteration of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and bleeding complications were observed at 4 weeks after operation. Both TF and vWF at 6 hours after operation of the treatment group was lower than the control group significantly (P < 0.01), while the condition of myocardial ischemia at 90 mins after operation of the treatment group was better than control group with significance. The syndromatology alteration of TCM especially spontaneous perspiration and hypodynamia of the treatment group were improved significantly compared to control group 4 weeks after operation. All patients in both groups had no bleeding complications and thrombopenia. The study suggests that Anxin granules combined with tirofiba can improve the clinical efficacy and the endothelial function of AMI patients after PCI with no increase in bleeding events.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Qiling Decoction (QD) combined highly active antiretroviral treatment (HAART) on expression levels of peripheral blood Th17 and Treg cells in HIV/AIDS patients.

METHODSTotally 55 HIV/AIDS patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group (28 cases) and the combination group (27 cases). Besides, 21 HIV negative patients were recruited as the healthy control group. Those in the treatment group received HARRT alone, while those in the combination group received HAART combined QD. The observation lasted for 24 weeks. Meanwhile, according to peripheral blood CD4+ T cell counts before treatment, HIV/AIDS patients were assigned to three subgroups. For patients in subgroup 1, 1 cells/microL < CD4+ T cell counts < or = 100 cells/microL; For patients in subgroup 2, 101 cells/microL < CD4+ T cell counts < or = 200 cells/lL; For patients in subgroup 3, 201 cells/microL < CD4+ T cell counts < or = 350 cells/microL. Expression of peripheral blood Th17 and Treg cells, and number of CD4+ T cell counts were detected using flow cytometry (FCM)in HIV/AIDS patients at the pre-treatment baseline, week 4, 12, and 24, as well as those in the healthy control group.

RESULTSCompared with the healthy control group, CD4+ T cell counts and the baseline expression level of Th17 cells in the peripheral blood of HIV/AIDS patients significantly decreased, the expression level of Treg cells significantly increased P < 0.01). Compared with before treatment in the same group, CD4+ T cell counts all increased at week 4, 12, and 24 in the two treatment groups, showing statistical difference (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). There was no statistical difference in the effective rate at various CD4+ T cell levels between the two groups (P > 0.05). There was no statistical difference in expression levels of Th17 and Treg cells between the combination group and the treatment group at any time point (all P >0.05). The Th17/Treg ration significantly increased in the combination group after 24 weeks of treatment, showing statistical difference when compared with the treatment group (U = 2.135, P = 0.038).

CONCLUSIONQD could improve the immune balance of Th17/Treg cells, which might be one of its mechanisms for improving HIV/AIDS patients' immunity.

Background TLR-4 is a natural immunity receptors in immunity,and it plays an important role in the repair of central nervous system damage.But its effect in glaucoma optic nerve injury is unclear.Objective This study was to investigate the expression of TLR-4 in retina with high intraocular pressure(IOP)in genetic and Drotein level and therefore explore the mechanism of TLR-4 on retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)injury. Methods Chronic ocular hypertension models were established in the right eyes of 150 clean purebred Sprague-Dawley rats by cauterizing the 3 sallow sclera veins.IOP was measured before and after 2 h,1 day,3,7,14,28,56 days after operation by PEN Ⅱ TONO-type pen tonometer.The expression of TLR-4 protein in rat retina was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot,and expression of TLR-4 mRNA was assayed by real time-PCR.This experimental procedure foliowed the Statement of Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Results The IOP was elevated in various time points after operation in experimental group,showing significant differences in comparison with control group(P<0.01).The immunohistochemistry revealed that the expression of TLR-4 protein in rat retina with chronic hypertension in 2 h,1 day,3,7,14,28,56 days after operation with the high A298 values in comparison with control eyes(P<0.05-0.01).Increased levels of TLR-4 mRNA in rat retinas were detected by RTPCR in high IOP eyes compared with control eyes in all time points after operation,presenting statistically significant differences between two groups(P<0.05-0.01).Western blot detection displayed the high expression of TLR-4 in retina in high IOP eyes early after operation with statistically significant results between model group and control group (P<0.05-0. 01). Conclusion TLR-4 is up-regulated in rat retina with chronic high IOP,suggesting that TLR-4 plays an immunoregulatory effect in glaucomatous eye.
