1.Serum 1,5-anhydroglucitol in pregnant women with different glucose tolerance status

Objective To explore the diagnosing value of serum 1,5-anhydroglucitol(1,5-AG)for gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)by determining 1,5-AG in pregnant women with different glucose tolerance status.Methods The levels of serum 1,5-AG,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),1 hour plasma glucose(1hPG)and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)were determined in 30 cases GDM(GDM group),32 cases gestational impair glucose tolerance(GIGT group)and 43 cases gestational normal glucose tolerance (GNGT group).Results The level of serum 1,5-AG in GDM group[(11.69 ± 3.92)mg/L]was obviously lower than that in GIGT group[(20.93 ± 3.43)mg/L]and GNGT group[(27.83 ± 4.03)mg/L](P < 0.01),GIGT group was obviously lower than that in GNGT group(P <0.05).The level of serum 1,5-AG had significantly negative correlation with FPG,1hPG and HbA1c respectively(P< 0.01).Conclusion The level of serum 1,5-AG has significantly correlation with glucose tolerance,1,5-AG can be used as useful indicator in the diagnosis of GDM.
2.The hemodynamic effects of hypotension induced by PGE_1.

The hemodynamic effects of deliberated hypotension induced by PGE1 or SNP on 14 dogs anesthetized by ketamine were studied separately.MAP was decreased by 30%~40% after infusing PGE,or SNP Hemodynamic variables were measured before and 15 min 30 min after hypotension and 15 min after the discontinuation of infusion.The results indicated that SVRI, PVRI, MPAP, LVSWI and RVSWI all decreased significantly during PGE1-or SNP-induced hypotension. CVP decreased and HR increased significantly during SNP-induced hypotension, but with no significant change during PGE1-induced hypotension and with SVI. CI. PCWP remained unchanged in these two groups throughout the experiments.

The Baculoviridae are a large family of enveloped DNA viruses exclusively pathogenic to arthropods. Baculoviruses have been extensively used in insect cell-based recombinant protein expression system and as biological pesticides. They have been deomostrated to be safe to mammals, birds and fish. Recently, baculoviruses has been shown to transduce different mammalian cells in spite of the fact that they cannot replicate in mammalian cells (11, 73, 76). This has resulted in the development of baculoviruses as mammalian expression systems and even as vestors for gene therapy.

6.Role of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 in the lung injury caused by mechanical ventilation

ve To investigate the possible role of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) in the lung injury induced by mechanical ventilation. Methods Twenty-four healthy small pigs of either sex, weighing (17.5?2.5) kg were randomly divided into four groups according to the tida volume of mechanical ventilation: control group without mechanical ventilation; low tidal volume group (A) VT=6 ml?kg-1; normal tidal volume group (B) VT=12ml?kg-1; high tidal volume group (C) VT =25ml?kg-1. The animals were anesthetized with intramuscular ketamine 15-20mg?kg-1 and diazepam 1.5-2.0mg?kg-1 and intubated and mechanically ventilated. Anesthesia was maintained with infusion of ketamine, procaine and succinylcholine. Respiratory rate was set at 18 bpm, I:E=1:2 and FiO2=35% , Femoral artery and vein were cannulated for intra-arterial pressure monitoring, blood sampling and infusion of fluid and anesthetics. ECG, rectal temperature and urine output were monitored. Venous blood samples and lung tissue from right lower lobe were obtained on 1st, 3rd and 7th day of mechanical ventilation for determination of serum and lung myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities, expression of PECAM-1 protein on pulmonary vascular endothelium cells and electron microscopic examination. 8.Experiment of the Photostability of the Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Injection

OBJECTIVE: To study the photostability of the levofloxacin hydrochloride injection. METHODS: The content of levofloxacin hydrochloride was determined and its UV spectra changes were observed after being lighted by three different light sources-the UV light, the sunlight and the natural light for different periods of time. Whether there is any decomposed product or not was determined by TLC. RESULTS: There were decompositions of levofloxacin hydrochloride injection subjected to illumination from three light resources, with that under the sunlight decomposed faster; Rf value under TLC of the decomposed product was found to be 0.72. CONCLUSION: Levofloxacin hydrochloride injection should be kept away from UV light, the sunlight and the natural light.
9.Irbesartan suppresses expression of VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion areas in rabbits

AIM: To investigate the effects of irbesartan on acute myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and on expression of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion areas in rabbits. METHODS: Anterior descending branch of left coronary artery (LAD) was ligated in ischemia-reperfusion (IR) group but not in the sham group. Rabbits of IR group were subjected to 60 min of LAD occlusion, and 360 min of reperfusion. In the treated group, the rabbits were given irbesartan until the trial ended. Then, all rabbits were killed and tissue samples were removed from IR areas. After disposed with routine histological methods and stained with hematoxylin and eosin (HE), these samples were examined by light microscopy. The expression of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 were also investigated by employing immunohistochemical SP method in the tissue samples. 10.Microanatomy study and clinical application of superficial palmar digital veins in fingertip replantation

Objective To study the anatomy of superficial palmar digital veins in fingertip,and explore the clinical application of superficial palmar digital veins as venous drainage in fingertip replantation.Methods One hundred fingers were studied with three methods: microanatomy,sectional anatomy,and X-ray.According to microanatomical observation,thirteen fingers in 10 cases with fingertip amputations and dorsal veins defect were replanted by anastomosis of palmar digital veins to reconstruct the venous drainage of the amputated digits. Results ( 1 ) 1 to 3 tiny superficial palmar digital veins can be found at the level of the onychorrhiza.The average diameters of the superficial palmar digital veins were 0.2-0.5 mm.(2)In clinical practice,13 replanted fingers were survived.After 3-18 months following-up,the appearance and function were satisfactory. Conclusion The distribution of the palmar digital veins was in some pattern.Anastomosis of the superficial palmar digital veins can not only improve the success rate of the fingertip replantation,but also avoid the complications of the other venous drainage methods.
