Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2014;(2):133-136
Objective To observe the protective effect of erythropoietin (EPO) on anoxia of motoneurons after spinal cord injury in rats. Methods The motoneuron was dissociated from neonate Wistar rats and cultivated in vitro with deprivation of oxygen in the medium. The changes of morphology were observed by phase-contrast microscopy, and the expression of EPO receptor (EPOR) was detected with Western blotting. The survival rate of motoneuron was measured with methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay, and the level of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was observed. Results Compared with the control group, the expression of EPOR and the level of LDH increased (P<0.01),and the survival rate of motoneuron decreased (P<0.01) in the anoxia group. Compared with the anoxia group, the expression of EPOR and the level of LDH decreased (P<0.05), and the survival rate of motoneuron increased (P<0.01) in the EPO group, which was related with the level of EPO. Conclusion EPO could relieve the damage of motoneuron caused by anoxia, especially by upregulating EPOR.

Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of vaginal paravaginal repair(VPVR) plus vaginal bridge repair in the treatment of female pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Methods Sixty-five patients with different defects of pelvic floor underwent VPVR or plus vaginal bridge repair for posterior vaginal wall. Patients were followed up after operation. The cure rate was estimated subjectively and objectively. The patients' quality of life was evaluated by the pelvic floor distress inventory short form 20 (PFDI-20). Results All 65 cases were treated by vaginal hysterectomy and anterior vaginal repair, in which there were 33 cases underwent VPVR while 32 cases underwent VPVR plus middle area repair. Forty concomitant procedures for vaginal bridge repair were also performed. The average operative time was (110.00±20.12) min and blood loss was (119.52±45.33) ml. The symptom of stress urinary incontinence of 25 cases significantly released after operation. Four incision recovery delayed and there were no other complicatious occurred. Patients were followed up for 6-29 months, the objective cure rate was 100.00% (65/65) and subjective cure rate was 92.31%(60/65), and 58 cases (89.23%)improved significantly with the quality of life comparing with that of pre-operation by completing PFDI-20 (P<0.01). Conclusions It is an effective and safe procedure for VPVR plus vaginal bridge repair to correct median to severe anterior vaginal prolapse and posterior vaginal wall prolapse. More clinical trials are needed to evaluate their long-term outcome.

Objective To explore the prognostic value of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) for 28-day mortality of elderly patients with non-cardiac critical ill in emergency intensive care unit (EICU). Methods A total of 70 elderly non-cardiac critically ill patients (age≥60 years) in EICU were enrolled, and the blood samples were collected to detect BNP level after the patients' admission to EICU. After 28 days, the mortality was assessed. Results Twenty-two patients (31.4 %) died during 28 days observation, whose BNP levels were significantly higher than that of the survivors [ln BNP: (6.4 ± 1.2) ng/L vs. ( 5. 1 ± 1.5 ) ng/L, P< 0. 05] ; BNP level had an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0. 759 (95% CI: 0. 636-0. 882, P<0.05) for predicting mortality, and the optimal cut point of BNP was 342 ng/L (sensitivity 77.3%, specificity 68.7%).Conclusions BNP level could be a predictor for 28-days mortality for elderly non-cardiac critically ill patients.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(8):1624-1629
In this paper, based on the special influence of supramolecular chemistry on the basic theory of Chinese medicines ( CM) , the authors further analyzed the history of meridian tropism and natural origins of CM organisms and explained CM ingredients and the universal regularity of the automatic action of the supramolecular "imprinting templates" hole channel structure. After entering human bodies, CMs, as the aggregation of supramolecular "imprinting templates" , automatically seek supramolecular subjects that are matched with their "imprinting templates" in human meridians and organs for the purpose of self-recognition, self-organization, self-assembly and self-replication, so as to generate specific efficacy in meridians and organs, which is reflected as the meridian tropism phenomena at macro level. This regularity can be studied by in vitro and in vivo experimental studies. In vitro methods are mostly supra molecular structure analysis and kinetic and thermodynamic parameter calculation; Whereas in vivo methods are dominated by the analysis on object component distribution, chromatopharmacodynamic parameters and network chromatopharmacodynamic parameters; Particularly, the acupoint-medicine method can simplify to study the supramolecular subject-object relations. Consequently, CM's'meridian tropism reveals the universal regularity for interactions of macromolecular and micromolecular "imprinting templates" of subjects and objects in natural organisms. As the first barrier for the material base of the CM theory and breakthrough in the modernization of the basic CM theory, meridian tropism plays an important role in studies on basic theories of the basic CM theory.
