Human adenovirus (HAdV) is one of the most important pathogens in infants and young children with acute respiratory infections and other diseases. This article reviews the literature on HAdV, including its molecular biological characteristics, detection and typing, and pathogenic mechanism, the clinical features and epidemiological characteristics of HAdV-related diseases, and the prevention and control of HAdV infections. So far, 67 types of HAdV have been identified, including recombinant variants discovered in recent years. The major epidemic strains that cause acute respiratory infections are HAdV-3 and HAdV-7, both of which belong to the subgroup B. HAdV often leads to acute respiratory infections, but it also causes diseases of other systems. HAdV-related diseases have similar clinical manifestations as those caused by other respiratory viruses, but often accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms. The pathogenic mechanism of HAdV remains unclear, especially for the new recombinant variants, due to few studies on their association with diseases. Because there are no prospective, large randomized controlled trials of HAdV infections, the treatment of HAdV infections is controversial. Vaccine is the most effective measure to reduce respiratory HAdV infections, but it is still not commercially available.

OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and safety of alprostadil combined with salvia ligustrazine in the treat-ment of aged patrents with unstable angina pectoris. METHODS:A total of 150 patients with unstable angina pectoris department of our hospital during Oct. 2011-Mar. 2015 were randomly divided into alprostadil group, salvia ligustrazine group and combination group according to random number table, with 50 cases in each group. Three groups received routine treatment. Alprostadil group additionally received Alprostadil injection 100 μg added into 0.9% Sodium chloride injection 250 mL,ivgtt,qd,on the basis of routine treatment. Salvia ligustrazine group additionally received Salvia ligustrazine injection 10 mL added into 0.9% Sodium chlo-ride injection 250 mL,ivgtt,qd,on the basis of routine treatment. Combination group additionally received constant dose of Al-prostadil injection and Salvia ligustrazine injection. Hemorheological indexes (high shear whole blood viscosity, low shear whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematocrit, fibrinogen),cardiac function indexes(LVEF,SV,LVEFD,LVST),serum CRP, NO,ET,SOD and clinical efficacies were observed in 2 groups before and after treatment;the occurrence of ADR was compared between 2 groups. RESULTS:Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in hemorheological indexes, cardiac function indexes or serum CRP,NO,ET,SOD level between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment, plasma viscosity, the whole blood high and low shear viscosity, hematocrit, fibrinogen, serum CRP and ET levels of 3 groups were decreased significantly, while LVEF,SV,serum levels of NO and SOD were increased significantly, combination group was significantly better than alprostadil group and salvia ligustrazine group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in above indexes between alprostadil group and salvia ligustrazine group (P<0.05). Total response rate of combination group was 90.00%,which was significantly higher than 74.00%of alprostadil group and 72.00%of salvia ligustrazine group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Alprostadil combined with salvia ligustrazine can effectively reduce the blood viscosity of patients with unstable angina pectoris, improve cardi-ac function and endothelial function, reduce myocardial ischemia injury and show significant therapeutic efficacy and safety without increasing the incidence of ADR.

Objective Gastrointestinal rehydration is a simple and effective method in treatment of burn shock during war-time, fire disaster and other harsh conditions , and practice has proved the exact curative effect of HCO 3 salt sugar liquid .This article was to investigate the effect of pyruvate-enriched oral rehydration solution ( Pyr-ORS ) on intestinal mucosal blood flow ( IMBF ) , activity of Na +-K+-ATPase and intestinal absorption rate during en-teral resuscitation of a 35% TBSA third-degree scald in rats . Methods 90 male rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: scald without fluid resuscitation ( S group ); sham scald resuscitated with HCO3 salt sugar liquid ( SS HCO3 group ); sham scald resuscitated with Pyr-ORS ( SS Pyr-ORS group ); scald resuscitated with HCO 3 salt sugar liquid (S HCO3 group); scald resuscitated with Pyr-ORS (S Pyr-ORS group) (n=18).Each group was divided into 2 subgroups of 1.5 and 4.5 h after scald injury.Intestinal absorption rate of water and Na +, IMBF and activity of Na +-K+-ATPase were detected on each group . Results Compared with shame scald groups , the intestinal absorption rates of water and Na +decreased ob-viously in scald groups with fluid resuscitation (P<0.05);at 1 h after scald injury, the intestinal absorption rates of water and Na +in S Pyr-ORS groups were both higher than those in S HCO 3 groups(P<0.05).Compared with shame scald groups , IMBF and activity of Na+-K+-ATPase at 1.5 and 4.5 h after scald injury decreased obviously in scald groups with fluid resuscitation (P<0.05); at 1.5 and 4.5 h after scald injury, IMBF in S Pyr-ORS groups (95.250 ±5.096/112.765 ±7.215) were greater than those in S HCO3 group (80.764 ±7.852/94.671 ±8.469), which was of statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion Pyr-ORS is a simple and effec-tive method in treatment of burn shock during wartime , fire disaster and other harsh conditions .

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(22):4448-4452
Previous studies have shown that ginsenoside Rb1 (Rb1), one of active components in ginseng, can activate insulin signaling pathway and promote translocation of glucose transporters (GLUTs) to increase glucose uptake in adipocytes. However, the effect of Rb1 on the expressions of GLUTs remains unknown. In this study, the effects of Rb1 on GLUT1 and GLUT4 were observed in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and epididymal adipose tissue of db/db obese diabetic mice. Male db/db mice were treated with Rb1 by intraperitoneal injection at the dosage of 20 mg x kg(-1) for 14 d. Rb1 reduced HOMA-IR significantly (P < 0.05, n = 5), and FBG and FINS sowed declining trend after treatment with Rb1. Rb1 recovered the expressions of GLUT1 and GLUT4 and phosphorylation of AKT in adipose tissue of db/db mice. In vitro, glucose consumption in 3T3-L1 adipocytes treated with 10 micromol x L(-1) Rb1 for 24 h was elevated (P < 0.05, n=3), and mRNA of GLUT1 and GLUT4 were up-regulated (P < 0.05, n=3) and proteins of GLUT1 and GLUT4 were also increased. AKT was activated in adipocytes treated with Rb1 for 3 h. It can be concluded that ginsenoside Rb1 can up-regulate the expression of GLUTs in adipose tissue, in addition to activate insulin signalling pathway, which may partially account for its insulin sensitizing activity and regulating effect of glucose metabolism.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2013;38(23):4119-4123
Ginsenoside Rb1 is an active component in ginseng. Previous in vitro experiments showed that ginsenoside Rb1, could inhibit lipolysis and promote glucose transporter in adipocytes. This study focused on the effect of ginsenoside Rb1 in insulin resistance and ectopic fat deposit in obese mice induced by high fat diet and its molecular mechanism. Obese male C57/L mice induced by high fat diet were randomly divided into the diet-induced obesity group (DIO group), the ginsenoside Rb1 group (Rb1 group) and the rosiglitazone group (Rog group), and continuously fed with high fat diet. In addition, male C57/L mice fed with normal diet were selected as the normal group (NC group). Mice in Rb1 group and Rog groups were intraperitoneally injected with ginsenoside Rb1 and rosiglitazone with the dosage of 20 mg x kg(-1) and 10 mg x kg(-1), respectively. NC and DIO groups were intraperitoneally injected with the same amount of saline. Two weeks later, the intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test (IPGTT) was performed. Three days later, the mice were killed, and their serum samples were collected to detect insulin and free fatty acid (FFA). Their livers were weighed to examine the triglyceride content, and a pathological detection was performed. Epididymal adipose tissues were weighed, and PDE3B, HSL and perilipin were detected by Western blotting. The results showed that the treatment with ginsenoside Rb1 for two weeks could improve the glucose tolerance of obese mice. Except for 0-120 min, the areas under the glucose tolerance curve (0-30 min, 0-60 min and 0-90 min) in the Rb1 group were less than that in the DIO group (P < 0.05, n = 5), with a much lower HOMA-IR (P < 0.05, n = 5). The fat level of obese mice was significantly reduced by Rbl (P < 0.05, n = 5), and so were liver weight/weight (P < 0.05, n = 8). The increased serum FFA of obese mice declined after the treatment of Rb1 (P < 0.05, n = 8). Rb1 could partially recover the expression of perilipin in adipose tissues, but without obvious change in the expressions of PDE3B and HSL and the phosphorylated activation. The above findings indicated that ginsenoside Rb1 could reduce the release of FFA and alleviate the ectopic deposit of triglyceride by up-regulating the expression of perilipin in adipose tissue, which may be one of its mechanisms for improving the insulin resistance and abnormal glucose metabolism of organisms.
