Objective To study the effect of adenovirus type 3I,7b on the expressions of mRNA and protein of transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-?1) in human embryonic lung fibroblast cells.Method The expression of mRNA and protein of TGF-?1 were determined in human embryonic lung fibroblast cells before and after being infected by adenovirus type 3I,7b and in normal fibroblast cells with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and in situ hybridization.Results The mRNA and protein of TGF-?1 expression in human embryonic lung fibroblast cells increased siginificantly after being infected by adenovirous type 3I,7b compared with those in normal fibroblast cells(Pa0.05).Conclusion Lung fibroblast cells and TGF-?1 may play some roles in pathophysiological processes of viral pneumonia.
2.The combination of orthodontics and fixed denture renovation in treating consecutive teeth loss

To study the therapeutic effect of the combination of orthodontics and fixed denture renovation preliminary in treating consecutive teeth loss. Before the fixing denture renovation,12 cases of consecutive teeth loss were treated to become interval teeth loss by using the orthodontic treatment. All patients received simultaneous functional and cosmetic restoration. The abutment teeth were healthy and the renovational teeth were stable. The combination of orthodontics and fixed denture renovation showed good effect in treating the consecutive teeth loss. It is a good clinical renovation. It is worthy to apply in clinic.
4.Correlation between MR amide proton transfer signal intensity and pathologic features in brain glioma

Objective To investigate the probable pathologic basis of amido proton transfer(APT) imaging by analysing APT signal intensity and pathologic features of different grades of glioma.Methods Twenty-eight patients with glioma confirmed by postoperative pathology underwent APT scan.All the patients were divided into two groups,including 11 cases in low grade (WHO Ⅰ and Ⅱ) and 17 cases in high grade (WHO Ⅲ and Ⅳ) group.The APT rate of tumor core was measured.The specimens were processed with routine hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and immunohistochemistry of Ki-67 and CD34.Independent-samples t test was used to detect the difference of APT rate,cellularity,microvessel density and Ki-67 labeling indices of tumor core between low grade and high grade group.Pearson correlation analysis and multi-variable linear regression analysis were used to detect the relationship of APT rate with cellularity,microvessel density and Ki-67 labeling indices of the tumor core.Results The APT rate,cellularity and proliferation index were (2.3±0.6) %,(9.4±2.4) % and (14.2±5.4) % in low grade group,while (3.6±0.7) %,(18.4±4.7) % and (31.7±4.5) % in high grade group,respectively.Microvessel density was (19.0±7.4) per high-power field in low grade group and (38.9±11.3) in high grade group.There were statistical differences of the APT rate,cellularity,microvessel density and proliferation index between the low grade group and the high grade group (t=-4.94,-5.89,-5.13,and-9.28,respectively,P<0.01).The APT rate was positive correlated with cellularity,microvessel density and proliferation index.The coefficient of correlation were 0.904,0.598,and 0.750,respectively,(P<0.01).Multiple linear correlative analysis showed that increasing cellularity (X1),microvessel density (X2) and proliferation index (X3) were the main factors for increasing APT rate,and the correlation equation was Y=0.801 + 0.12X1-0.003X2 + 0.026X3 (F=46.437,P<0.01,R2=0.853).Conclusions The APT signal intensity of the tumor core could reflect the pathologic features of glioma.The APT rate was positive correlated with cellularity,microvessel density and proliferation index,which indicate the higher APT rate the higher grade tumor.
5.Analysis on Cost-Effect of Three TCM Injections for the Treatment of Stroke

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and carry out analysis on pharmacoeconomic cost-effect of three therapeutic schemes in the treatment for stroke. Methods Through a retrospective survey method, 115 stroke patients, based on different treatment methods, were divided into 3 groups:Xuesaitong group (A), carthamin yellow group (B), and Xueshuantong group (C). An analysis on pharmacoeconomic cost-effect was conducted. Results The costs of three therapeutic schemes were 1030.4 yuan, 1876 yuan, and 1545.6 yuan, respectively. The total effective rates of stroke patients in groups A, B and C were 85.37%, 88.57% and 90.04%, respectively. The cost-effect ratios of groups A, B and C were 12.07, 21.18, and 17.17. The added cost-effect ratios of groups B and C compared with group A were 264.25 and 110.32, respectively. Conclusion Xueshuantong Injection has more pharmacoeconomic advantage than Xuesaitong and carthamin yellow Injections in treating stroke.
6.Magnetic resonance imaging of patients with polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection for facial plasty

Objective To investigate MRI signal features and MRI appearances of patients with advanced stage in polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection for facial plasty.Methods In this study,MRI of 11 cases with 23 polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection of facial plasty for 6 to 10 years were retrospectively reviewed.All images were acquired with GE 3.0T MR imaging unit.MR sequences,including FSE T1WI,FSE FS T2WI,and STIR were applied with 8-channel brain coil.MRIs sliced through the maxillofacial region in the transverse,coronal and sagittal planes.Results In 11 cases of 23 polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection,there were different degrees of capsule rupture and induration in 6 polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection,and the images showed sporadic callosities such as subcutaneous nodules and nodules in glands or muscles ; hydrogel migration in 8 polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection.Secondary deformity occured in 80 % cases,in which the most cases were induced by hydrogel migration.Conclusions Magnetic resonance imaging can make clear of the type of rupture and the distribution leakage of polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel for facial plasty and it is an ideal approach for advanced patients with polyacrylamide hydrophilic gel injection for follow-up.
7.The effect of gastric intraumucosal pH during orthotopic liver transplantation

Objective To investigate the ch an ges of gastric intramucosal pH (pHi) during orthotopic liver transplantation (OL T) without venovenous bypasss. Methods Twenty patients (14 males and 6 females) aged (46.7 ?4.6) years, undergoing orthotopic liver transplantation without venovenous byp asss, were included in this study. A gastric tube technique was used to draw gas tric juice 3~5 mL to determine pHi and PiCO 2 before OLT, at 20 min preanhep atic phase, 30 min anhepatic phase, 30 min new hepatic phase and at 2 h and 2 4 h after operation. The arterial blood samples collected taken for the measure ments of PaCO 2, PO 2, pH, BE and HCO 3- at the same time point s as above. pHi was calculated through Henderson-Hasselbach equation. 8.A metrical analysis of biomedical patents in Hunan Province

Objective To provide the service for scientific innovation and competition in biomedical industry of Hunan Province and the reference for working out biomedical patent strategies.Methods The data of biomedical patents in Hunan Province were collected using the patentEX and processed by metrics.Results The application number of patents increased from year to year with a high expiry rate.The technology of biomedical patents has entered into its mature period and the application of patents was focused on several important IPC classifications.Conclusion Tra-ditional technologies play a main role in biomedical industry of Hunan Province, but Hunan Province is relatively backward in modern biological technologies.The application number of invented biomedical patents is rather large, but their overall academic level is rather low.The majority of biomedical industry enterprises lack of competition awareness.It is thus necessary to strengthen the development of modern biological technologies, improve the aca-demic level of biomedical patents, increase the competition awareness of biomedical industry enterprises, lay stress on cooperative development of biomedical patents and on support of biomedical industry enterprises.
9.Localization of dopamine- and cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein in mouse kidney

Objective To investigate the expression and localization of dopamine- and cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein of 32 000 (DARPP-32) in mouse kidney tissue. Methods The cellular localization of DARPP-32 in mouse kidney tissue was detected by immunoblot and immunohistochemistry. Results DARPP-32-like immunoreactivity was detected in the medullary thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, the cortical proximal convoluted tubule, and collecting ducts in medullary rays. The renal tubules were enriched of Na+, K+-ATPase for sodium reabsorption. Conclusion The participation of DARPP-32 is a likely crucial step of the signal-transduction pathway of dopamine regulation on sodium reabsorption in renal tubule cells.
10.Immunogenicities of apoptotic ovarian cancer cells induced by paclitaxel combined with cisplatin

Objective:To explore whether apoptotic ovarian cancer cells induced by chemotherapy drugs paclitaxel and cisplatin can be cross-presented by dendritic cells(DCs) and enhance immune responses.Methods:DCs were induced from peripheral blood monocytes cells by GM-CSF/IL-4 for 6 d,then they were stimulated with either apoptotic ovarian cancer HO8910 cells,frozen-thawed HO8910 cells or control cells for 4 h.Their surface markers and phagocytotic ability were detected by flow cytometry and confocal microscopic scanning assay,respectively.DCs of different groups were cultured with CD8+ T cells isolated by magnetic cell sorting,and the ability of DCs to activate CD8+ T cells was evaluated by 3H-TdR,the activity of CTL to kill tumor cells was evaluated by LDH.Production of IFN-? by CD8+ T cells was measured by ELISPOT.Results:Apoptotic ovarian cancer cells induced by chemotherapy drugs paclitaxel and cisplatin could be phagocytized by DCs,which subsequently promoted the maturation and antigen presenting ability of DCs.Apoptotic ovarian cancer cells implused DCs significantly promoted proliferation of CD8+ T cells compared with that of control cells(P
