2.Treatment for traumatic optic neuropathy with mouse nerve growth factor:a meta-analysis
International Eye Science 2015;(4):633-635
AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of treating traumatic optic neuropathy( TON) with mouse nerve growth factor.
METHODS: We searched the Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Medline, CNKI, Wanfang database and VIP to collect randomized controlled trials ( RCTs ) of using mouse nerve growth factor for TON. The quality of the included trials was assessed and poor-qualified trials were eliminated before the meta - analysis was conducted.
RESULTS:Seven RCTs with a total of 399 eyes included were retrieved, and OR=3. 78 with a 95%CI of [ 2. 35, 6.06], the difference was significant (P<0. 01).
CONCLUSION:The existing evidence supports that the prognosis of TON is better when mouse nerve growth factor are adopted in treatment, but there is still a need for well-planned, large-scale and multicenter RCTs to verify it.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2011;27(8):561-566
A total of 1140 medical workers from 8 public hospitals of secondary and tertiary levels in Anhui were surveyed with questionnaire. Their knowledge of the reform, acknowledgement of key points of the reform, desire of participating in the reform and other factors that may influence the reform were investigated as categorized by their hospital, position, title and age. This study comes up with such recommendations as reinforcing communications on public hospital reform, reforming the compensation mechanism to clarify government responsibilities, probing into a better model for multi-institution practice of certified physicians, and encouraging private capital to participate in medical service while ensuring its non-profit nature, and improving the performance appraisal mechanism to ensure incentives of medical workers. These recommendations aim to enable the health administrators in their decision making.

High-affinity α-glucosidase inhibitors were screened from Cichorium glundulosum Boiss.et Hout seed (CGS) extract by ultra-filtration affinity-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UF-LC-MS) and molecular docking.By taking 4-nitrobenzene-α-D-glucopyranoside (PNPG) as substrate and acarbose as positive control to evaluate the inhibitory activity of CGS extract, IC50 of acarbose and CGS extract were 0.003 mg/mL and 0.447 mg/mL, respectively.Meanwhile, 4 compounds from CGS extract by UF-LC-MS were screened and identified. Then by using autodock software, the compounds that combined with α-glucosidase were well screened out, including chlorogenic acid and isochlorogenic acid A.The inhibitory activity of chlorogenic acid and chlorogenic acid A against α-glucosidase was verified in vitro. The results showed that the inhibitory activity of the compounds toward α-glucosidase presented the sequence of acarbose>isochlorogenic acid A>chlorogenic acid. The inhibition rate of isochlorogenic acid A was close to acarbose. The experimental results illustrated that UF-LC-MS and molecular docking could be used to screen high affinity enzyme inhibitors from CGS.

Bone xenograft bone for the treatment of bone defect is one of the current research focus, which has advantages of extensive sources, low cost, simple preparation method. While the process of single bone xenograft bone in repairing bone defect is very long, and the clinical outcome is not satisfactory. The main problems focus on formation of bone and vascularization. Reconstituted bone xenograft combined with cells and xenogenic bone material could promote vascularization and bone fusion in vivo, thus achieve a clinical effect of autogenous bone in repairing bone defect.

After 28 foreign species of AM fungi were inoculated in sterilized soil, the effects of the AM mycorrhizal colonization and the medicine quality of Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis were observed by combination of inoculation test in pot at room temperature and instrumental analysis. The results showed that, compared with control group (CK), the inoculation of foreign AM fungi in the soil influenced the spore density, mycorrhizal infection rate, and colonization intensity of AM fungi in root system of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis. The inoculation of foreign AM fungi enhanced the mycorrhiza viability of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis by increasing the activity of succinic dehydrogenase (SDH) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in intraradical hyphae. The content of single steroid saponin in rhizome of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis showed variation after P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis was inoculated by different foreign species of AM fungi, which was beneficial for increasing the medicine quality; however, the kinds of steroid saponin showed no difference. In a degree, there was a selectivity of symbiosis between P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis and foreign AM fungi. And we found that the Claroideoglomus claroideum and Racocetra coralloidea were best foreign AM fungi species for cultivating P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis under field condition.

OBJECTIVETo summarize clinical outcomes of locking compression plate (LCP) combined with minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO) for the treatment of Pilon fracture.
METHODSFrom January 2009 to December 2012, Pilon fracture patients treated by LCP with MIPPO were retrospectively analyzed. All open fractures, pathologic fractures and those who had limb vascular disease or nerve injury were excluded. Thirty-eight patients were enrolled, including 29 males and 9 females aged from 21 to 78 years old with an average of 48 years old. According to AO classification, 20 cases were type B, 18 cases were type C. Operative time, blood loss, reduction quality, time of fracture healing complications and postoperative ankle joint function were applied for evaluating clinical outcomes, AOFAS scoring were used for assessing postoperative clinical effects.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 13 to 24 months (averaged 18 months). All patients obtained bone union without any plate failures or loss of fixation/reduction. One patient occurred superficial wound infection, and resolved with antibiotics and local wound care. Postoperative average AOFAS score was 81 (ranged 65 to 97).
CONCLUSIONLCP with MIPPO for Pilon fratcure has advantages of less invasion, fewer complications and satisfactory ankle function.
