Objective To evaluate the effects of preoperative regional artery chemotherapy (PRACT) on gastric carcinoma. Methods Celiac arteriography was performed by transfemoral artery catheter according to Seldinger's method and superselective catheterization proceeded to the supplying artery of focus of lesion. Antineoplastic agents of Fluorodeoxyuridine (FUDR)(0.8 g/m 2), epirubicin(40 mg/m 2), oxaliplatin(80 mg/m 2) were infused into regional artery by a single administration. The specimens from 14 cases of gastric carcinoma(GC) who received PRACT were separated into pre operation group and post operation group. Both microscopic study to observe the necrosis of cancer cell and TUNEL(TdT mediated dUTP nick end labeling) method to detect the state of apoptosis were performed respectively in the two groups. Correlation of apoptosis index (AI) between the two groups, as well as correlation between the situation of necrotic tumor cell and the blood vessel, was analyzed. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the characteristic and regularity of antineoplastics-induced ADR,and to provide refer-ence for safety use of antineoplastics in clinic. METHODS:In retrospective study,309 cases of antineoplastics-induced ADR col-lected from a special hospital during Jan.-Dec. 2015 were summarized and analyzed statistically. RESULTS:Among 309 ADR cas-es,female (58.25％) was more than male (41.75％). The patients aged more than 40 years old occupied the highest proportion (78.64％). Main route of administration was intravenous dripping(94.82％). There were 225 cases of severe ADR(72.82％). To-tal 268 cases were improved after drug withdrawal or treatment(86.73％). A total of 24 kinds of antineoplastics were involved in 309 ADR cases;most of ADR were induced by docetaxel,followed by cisplatin,cyclophosphamide. Most common organs/system involved in ADR was hemopoietic system (64.24％),main clinical manifestation was myelosuppression. CONCLUSIONS:It is necessary to strengthen ADR monitoring,prevent,discover and treat antineoplastics-induced ADR timely,in order to reduce the harm to the patients and ensure the safety and effectiveness of drug treatment.

BACKGROUND: It is commonly believed that hyperbaric oxygen (HBO)plays a neuroprotective role in the prevention and treatment of cerebral infarction (CI), however hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)-induced CI was also reported.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the risk factors of HBOT-induced CI.DESIGN: Case analysis with patients as subjects.SETTING: At the Department of Hyperbaric Oxygen of Guangzhou General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command Area of Chinese PLA.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 192 inpatients receiving HBOT were selected from the Department of Hyperbaric Oxygen of Guangzhou General Hospital Guangzhou Military Command Area of Chinese PLA between December 1996 and March 1998, including 127 males and 65 females with age ranging from 9 to 78 years old. Totally 6 patients, 3 males and 3 females, suffered from CI during HBOT, with the age from 51 to 76 yeas.METHODS: The background factors of 192 patients who HBOT METHODS and 6 cases with induced CI were analyzed.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Symptoms, signs and skull CT or MRI.RESULTS: Data of 192 patients were dealt with intentionally and all were statistically analyzed without miss. ① The incidence of CI during HBOT was 0.3% (6/192). ② The risk factors of HBOT-induced CI included: age of ≥ 60 years, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, primary CI or cerebral hemorrhage, blood hyperviscosity and diabetes, and the incidence would greatly increased in those who has 4 or more than 4 risk factors, but seldom with less than 4 risk factors.CONCLUSION: The cluster level of risk factors was closely related with the incidence of HBOT-induced CI.

Objective To assess the effects of cyclic stretch on fibroblast orientation in order to find the appropriate cyclic stretch to cause maximum fibroblast orientation and to explore the mechanism of cell signalling since cells are known to orient in response to the application of mechanical forces. Methods Human forehead dermal fibroblasts were seeded onto collagen coated flexible membranes. Membranes were then deformed at 10 cycles per minute by the application of 135 mmHg subatmospheric pressure. This corresponded to strain levels of 0% to 24% from the center to extremity of the flexible membrane. Cells orientation angles were studied by inverted microscopy. Integrin ?1 distribution were studied with immunocytochemical staining and confocal microscopy. Integrin ?1 expression and focal adhesion kinase ( FAK) phosphorylation were analyzed with Western blot analysis. Results A minimum of 15% cell stretch was required to significantly stimulate the fibroblast orientation response. Cyclic stretch induced integrin ?1 redistribution and FAK phosphorylation. Incubation of cells with anti-integrin ?1 prior to the application of stretch abrogated fibroblast orientation and FAK phosphorylation. Conclusion Fibroblast orientation in response to cyclic stretch is mediated at least in part by integrin ?1 through phosphorylation of FAK.

Plant growth retardant as one of plant growth regulator can inhibit the cell division, elongation and growth rate in shoot apical meristem (SAM), which can be reversed by gibberellin regulate the product of photosynthesis transfer to the root and rhizome part. As commonly used plant growth retardant, paclobutrazol, uniconazole, chlorocholine chloride, mepiquat chloride, choline chloride and daminozide are used to promote the growth of root and rhizome, call as "zhuanggenling", "pengdasu", "pengdaji" etc. Single or recombination of plant growth regulator is registered as pesticide, and called as pesticide "zhuanggenling" in this paper. Growth regulator which registered as a foliar fertilizer or fertilization was called agricultural fertilizer "zhuanggenling" in this paper. The author investigate the usage of "zhuanggenling" in the root and rhizome of medicinal plants cultivation from 2012 to 2014 in Sichuan province, Huangyuan town, Mianyang (Ophiopogonis Radix); Pengzhou Aoping town (Chuanxiong Rhizoma); Pengshan Xiejia town (Alismatis Rhizoma); Jiangyou Taiping town and Zhangming town (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata); Yunnan Wenshan (Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma); Henan province, Wuzhidafeng Town (Rehmanniae Radix, Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Dioscoreae Rhizoma); Gansu Min county (Codonopsis Radix, Angelicae Sinensis Radix); Gansu Li county (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma). The result showed that "zhuanggenling" were applied in the most medicinal plant cultivation except Rhei Radix et Rhizoma. It has been applied widespreadly in Ophiopogonis Radix, Alismatis Rhizoma, Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Codonopsis Radix; Rehmanniae Radix, commonly in Angelicae Sinensis Radix application, and occasionally in Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Dioscoreae Rhizoma. In 53 collected sample from plantation areas, fifteen (28%) were pesticide "zhuanggenling", thirty-eight (72%) were pesticide "zhuanggenling". UPLC analysis results showed that 38 farmers fertilizer "zhuanggenling" content of 6 kinds of plant growth retardant. It is regarded that fertilizer "zhuanggenling" was dominant in medicinal plant cultivation, and that the plant growth retardant is added widespreadly in farm fertilizer "zhuanggenling". All evidence proves conclusively that "zhuanggenling" have been used in the proper way, whereas some others have been misused or even abused in the use regarding to type, number, use frequency. The root or rhizoma are increased to 20%-200%. But there is lack of evaluation to appraise the quality of medicinal materials from the aspects of research or industry. This study evaluated the effects of early treatment with β-adrenergic blocker metoprolol on ventricular remodeling and function after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) by using high frequency ultrasound. The relationship between the efficacy and the expression level of cardiac myocardial inflammatory cytokine was examined in rats. The rat model of AMI was induced by ligating the left anterior descending artery. The surviving rats were randomly assigned to two experimental groups: MI control (MI) group and MI metoprolol (MI-B) group, with the rats undergoing sham operation serving as normal control (Sham). MI-B group was given metoprolol for 4 weeks (refer to the CCS-2 protocol) and the other two groups received equal volume of saline via intragastric (i.g.) administration. The ventricular remodeling and function were evaluated by high frequency ultrasound 4 weeks after the treatment. Then all rats were sacrificed for pathological examination and immunohistochemistrical detection of inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α. Compared with the MI group, the left ventricular end-systolic dimension, end-diastolic dimension, end-systolic volume and end-diastolic volume of the MI-B group were significantly decreased (P<0.01), while the left ventricular anterior wall end-diastolic thickness, ejection fraction and fractional shortening were obviously increased (P<0.01). The conspicuous improvement in the left ventricular morphology and function was coincident with the markedly reduced TNF-α and IL-1β expression and the increased IL-10 expression. We are led to conclude that early metoprolol treatment for AMI can regulate myocardial inflammatory cytokine expression to improve cardiac function and the underlying mechanism might be that it decreases the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines and increases the level of its anti-inflammatory counterparts in cardiac myocytes. Our study also showed that echocardiography is a useful technique for the structural and functional assessment of left ventricle after acute myocardial infarction.

Objective To investigate the regulatory effects of endogenous sulfur dioxide (SO2) on collagen accumulation in pulmonary arterial fibroblasts of rats and its mechanisms.Methods Primary rat pulmonary artery fibroblasts were used in the experiment and were divided into 3 groups:the control group,the L-aspartate-beta-hydroxamate(HDX) group and the HDX ± SO2 group.SO2 content of pulmonary artery fibroblasts supernatant was detected by adopting high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).Collagen type Ⅰ and collagen type Ⅲ in pulmonary artery fibroblasts were determined by using immunofluorescence.Phosphorylation of Smad2/3,protein expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-13 and tissue inhibitors of MMP (TIMP)-1 were detected by using Western blot.One-way ANOVA was used for multiple group comparisons followed by Bonferroni test for each group.P ＜ 0.05 was considered as significant difference.Results Compared with control group,endogenous SO2 content in HDX group was significantly decreased [(14.30-± 0.48) μmol/L vs.(20.14 ± 0.49) μμmol/L,P ＜ 0.01],the level of Smad2/3 increased (1.03 ±0.31 vs.0.48 ± 0.20,P ＜ 0.01),protein expressions of MMP-13 and TIMP-1 in pulmonary artery fibroblasts were decreased (MMP-13:0.28 ± 0.06 vs.0.75 ± 0.11,P ＜ 0.01;TIMP-1:0.40 ± 0.05 vs.0.66 ± 0.20,P ＜ 0.01),and the ratio of MMP-13/TIMP-1 was decreased (0.71 ± 0.12 vs.1.23 ± 0.45,P ＜0.01).However,contents of collagen Ⅰ and collagen Ⅲ were significantly increased.Compared with HDX group,the level of Smad2/3 phosphorylation in HDX ± SO2 group decreased (0.57 ± 0.16 vs.1.03 ± 0.31,P ＜ 0.01),protein expression of MMP-13 and TIMP-1 upregulated (MMP-13:0.63 ± 0.06 vs.0.28 ± 0.06,P ＜ 0.01;0.59 ± 0.11 vs.0.40 ± 0.05,P =0.015),the ratio of M MP-13/TIMP-1 (1.10 ± 0.22 vs.0.71 ± 0.12,P =0.033) increased,but contents of collagen type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ were reduced obviously.Conclusions SO2 promotes the degradation of collagen and collagen accumulation in pulmonary artery fibroblasts of rats probably by inhibiting Smad2/3 signal pathway,increasing protein expression of MMP-13 and TIMP-1,and upregulating the ratio of MMP-13/TIMP-1.

Objective To understand the prophylactic use of antimicrobial agents in the patients undergoing I incision surgery from 2011 to 2013 in a tumor hospital,to explore the the effects of intervention management measure for antibacterial agents using in the perioperative period.Methods The cases of tumor surgical patients of 2011-2013 were selected and divided into the three intervention groups and non-intervention group.The data of medication after three-stage continuous integrated intervention were collected and compared.Results The percentage of antibiotics use was much lower,from 61.73%pre-intervention to 47.03%,26.78%and 24.85%after three stage intervention. The course of preventive medication treatment was significantly decreased from 81h to 53h,33h,21h,respeetively.The reasons of their rationally utilizing antibiotics were significantly improved after intervention management.Conclusion Rational antibiotics utilization can be improved by intervention management during perioperative period of typeⅠinci-sion operations,which can achieve the goal of health department.
