Objective To compared the decreasing characteristics of formaldehyde and benzene concentrations in indoor air after decoration. Methods The concentrations of formaldehyde and benzene in indoor air of hotels were determined within one week, one year and more than one year after decoration. Results The concentrations of benzene in indoor air reached the peak(mean: 0.534 mg/m 3) within one week after decoration, and then decreased gradually. The concentrations of formaldehyde were not high within one week after decoration, and then increased gradually, reached the peak (mean: 0.141 mg/m 3) within one year after decoration, then decreased gradually. Conclusion After decoration, the decreasing characteristics of the concentrations of formaldehyde and benzene showed a difference that the concentrations of benzene decreased faster than that of formaldehyde did.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1986;0(02):-
Bosentan is a non-selective endothelin receptor antagonist, which plays an important role in the treatment of children with pulmonary arterial hypertension.Bosentan has shown to improve exercise capacity, hemodynamics and reduce pulmonary vascular resistance in pediatric patients. The main adverse effect is less severely comparing with the adult. The combination of bosentan with other drugs can improve the life quality furtherly.Further study of large-scale trials needs focus on the long-effects of bosentan, the ideal period of therapy and the effects of combination therapy in children.

Objective:To observe the correlation among cardiac function ,inflammation factor and plasma testoster‐one level in aged male patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) .Methods :A total of 91 male CHF inpatients were selected from our hospital ,including 31 cases with NYHA cardiac function class Ⅱ ,30 cases with class Ⅲ and 30 ca‐ses with class Ⅳ .Another 40 corresponding male patients without CHF were regarded as non‐CHF control group . Plasma levels of testosterone ,interleukin (IL)‐6 ,tumor necrosis factor (TNF)–α and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and cardiac function were compared between two groups .Results:Compared with non‐CHF control group , there were significant reductions in plasma testosterone level , P<0. 05 or 0. 01 ,and they more reduced along with NYHA cardiac function class rose in all CHF subgroups ,P<0.05 or <0.01 .Correlation analysis indicated that tes‐tosterone level was inversely correlated with IL‐6 and TNF‐α levels (r= -0.244 , -0.322 , P<0.05 both) ,and positively correlated with LVEF (r=0.322 ,P=0.01) .Conclusion:In patients with chronic heart failure ,the poo‐rer cardiac function is ,the lower plasma testosterone level is .Testosterone level measurement contributes to judging disease degree and prognosis of patients with chronic heart failure .

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of Smad4 in peripheral hepatocytes of lesions in mice with hepatic alveolar echinococcosis. Methods Eight mice in the test group were inoculated with alveolar echinococcosis and 8 mice in the control group were injected with normal saline. The expression of Smad4 protein in the hepatic tissue of the mice was detected by immunohistochemistry method, and the data were analyzed by chi-square test. The effect of alveolar echinocoeeosis on the expression of Smad4 protein was investigated. Results Smad4 was detected in cell nuclei and partly in the cytoplasm.Six months after the establishment of the mice model for alveolar echinococeosis, the expression of Smad4 in the hepatic tissue in the test group was significantly higher than in the control group(x2=19.869,P<0.05).The number of Smad4 with positive expression in the hepatocytes in the test group was slightly higher than in the control group, and the expression intensity of Smad4 in the test group was greater than in the control group(x2=58.3 10,P<0.05).Conclusions The increase of the expression of Smad4 protein in the periphery hepatocytes and tissues of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis lesions may play a role in hepatic cirrhosis and immune evasion.

Objective Few prospective data are currently available on acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage (AGIH) as a complication in acute kidney injury (AKI).The aim of the present study was to find out clinical characteristics, incidence, etiology, risk factors, and outcome of AGIH in patients with AKI.Methods We performed a prospective study on an inceptione cohprt of 512 patients admitted for AKI in our hospital.Data on clinical risk factors for bleeding, frequency of occurrence of AGIH,in-hospital mortality were collected, and independent predictors of AGIH were identified. Results A total of 53 patients had AGIH as a complication of AKI,and 45 were upper AGIH.Fifteen patients had clinically severe bleeding.Independent baseline predictors of AGIH were severity of illness, cardiac failure, mechanical ventilation, low platelet count, chronic hepatic disease, liever cirrhosis, severe AKI.Inhospital mortality was 52.8% in patients with AGIH,and 22.2% in the other patients.AGIH was significantly associated with an increase in hospital mortality. Conclusions AGIH are frequent complications of AKI.In this clinical condition,AGIH is more often due to upper gastrointestinal bleeding and is associated with a significantly increased risk of death. Both renal and extrarenal risk factors are related to the occurrence of AGIH.

Journal of Sun Yat-sen University(Medical Sciences) 2010;31(1):33-38
[Objective] The aim was to choose the best feeder layer by observing the effects of various human feeders supporting human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), and to probe the correlation between the levels of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) secreted by feeders and the growth of the hESCs. [Methods] The primary cells from various tissues were cultured, including foreskin, stromal endometrium, villus, adult fallopian tubal, fetal skin, fetal muscle and mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs). The hESCs were transferred to various feeders, and then the best condition was probed, which was based on the feeder density and the time of mitomycin-C acting on the feeder. Comparing the characteristics of the hESCs, the best feeder was chosen of all kinds of feeders from various tissues that support the hESCs. The level of bFGF secreted by various feeders was detected using ELISA. [Results] All of tested feeders could support the hESCs growth for over 10 passages in the culture, especially the foreskin and the adult fallopian tubal. The density of feeders was related with the morphology and the differentiation rate of the hESCs. According to the characteristics of feeder, the feeder ranking was as follows: foreskin, stromal endometrium, villus, adult fallopian tubal, fetal skin and fetal muscle. Based on the characteristics of the hESCs, the order of feeders was: foreskin, adult fallopian tubal, stromal endometrium, villus, fetal muscle and fetal skin. The levels of bFGF (pg·10~(-5)·mL~(-1)) secreted by various feeders were as follows: adult fallopian tubal (13.23±3.39), foreskin (1.99±0.17), villus (1.40±0.17), fetal muscle (2.02 ±1.59), stromal endometrium (0.38±0.28), and fetal skin (0.29±0.29). [Conclusion] The foreskin and the adult fallopian tubal could support the hESCs better than others though all of them could;do, especially the, foreskin. The bFGF that secreted by the adult fallopian tubal was the highest of all. The correlation was not obvious .between the levels of bFGF secreted by feeders and the growth of the hESCs.
