Objective To explore the diagnosing value of serum 1,5-anhydroglucitol(1,5-AG)for gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)by determining 1,5-AG in pregnant women with different glucose tolerance status.Methods The levels of serum 1,5-AG,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),1 hour plasma glucose(1hPG)and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)were determined in 30 cases GDM(GDM group),32 cases gestational impair glucose tolerance(GIGT group)and 43 cases gestational normal glucose tolerance (GNGT group).Results The level of serum 1,5-AG in GDM group[(11.69 ± 3.92)mg/L]was obviously lower than that in GIGT group[(20.93 ± 3.43)mg/L]and GNGT group[(27.83 ± 4.03)mg/L](P ＜ 0.01),GIGT group was obviously lower than that in GNGT group(P ＜0.05).The level of serum 1,5-AG had significantly negative correlation with FPG,1hPG and HbA1c respectively(P＜ 0.01).Conclusion The level of serum 1,5-AG has significantly correlation with glucose tolerance,1,5-AG can be used as useful indicator in the diagnosis of GDM.

The Baculoviridae are a large family of enveloped DNA viruses exclusively pathogenic to arthropods. Baculoviruses have been extensively used in insect cell-based recombinant protein expression system and as biological pesticides. They have been deomostrated to be safe to mammals, birds and fish. Recently, baculoviruses has been shown to transduce different mammalian cells in spite of the fact that they cannot replicate in mammalian cells (11, 73, 76). This has resulted in the development of baculoviruses as mammalian expression systems and even as vestors for gene therapy.

The hemodynamic effects of deliberated hypotension induced by PGE1 or SNP on 14 dogs anesthetized by ketamine were studied separately.MAP was decreased by 30%~40% after infusing PGE,or SNP Hemodynamic variables were measured before and 15 min 30 min after hypotension and 15 min after the discontinuation of infusion.The results indicated that SVRI, PVRI, MPAP, LVSWI and RVSWI all decreased significantly during PGE1-or SNP-induced hypotension. CVP decreased and HR increased significantly during SNP-induced hypotension, but with no significant change during PGE1-induced hypotension and with SVI. CI. PCWP remained unchanged in these two groups throughout the experiments.

ve To investigate the possible role of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) in the lung injury induced by mechanical ventilation. Methods Twenty-four healthy small pigs of either sex, weighing (17.5?2.5) kg were randomly divided into four groups according to the tida volume of mechanical ventilation: control group without mechanical ventilation; low tidal volume group (A) VT=6 ml?kg-1; normal tidal volume group (B) VT=12ml?kg-1; high tidal volume group (C) VT =25ml?kg-1. The animals were anesthetized with intramuscular ketamine 15-20mg?kg-1 and diazepam 1.5-2.0mg?kg-1 and intubated and mechanically ventilated. Anesthesia was maintained with infusion of ketamine, procaine and succinylcholine. Respiratory rate was set at 18 bpm, I:E=1:2 and FiO2=35% , Femoral artery and vein were cannulated for intra-arterial pressure monitoring, blood sampling and infusion of fluid and anesthetics. ECG, rectal temperature and urine output were monitored. Venous blood samples and lung tissue from right lower lobe were obtained on 1st, 3rd and 7th day of mechanical ventilation for determination of serum and lung myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities, expression of PECAM-1 protein on pulmonary vascular endothelium cells and electron microscopic examination. Objective To study the anatomy of superficial palmar digital veins in fingertip,and explore the clinical application of superficial palmar digital veins as venous drainage in fingertip replantation.Methods One hundred fingers were studied with three methods: microanatomy,sectional anatomy,and X-ray.According to microanatomical observation,thirteen fingers in 10 cases with fingertip amputations and dorsal veins defect were replanted by anastomosis of palmar digital veins to reconstruct the venous drainage of the amputated digits. Results ( 1 ) 1 to 3 tiny superficial palmar digital veins can be found at the level of the onychorrhiza.The average diameters of the superficial palmar digital veins were 0.2-0.5 mm.(2)In clinical practice,13 replanted fingers were survived.After 3-18 months following-up,the appearance and function were satisfactory. Conclusion The distribution of the palmar digital veins was in some pattern.Anastomosis of the superficial palmar digital veins can not only improve the success rate of the fingertip replantation,but also avoid the complications of the other venous drainage methods.

Objective To observe the protective effect of Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (XZD) on vascular endothelial cells (VEC) injured by the serum of blood_stasis_syndrome ( BSS) rabbits. Methods The morphological features of VEC cultured with norma l rabbit serum (Group A), BSS rabbit serum(Group B), the serum of normal rabbit medicated with XZD(Group C) and the serum of BSS rabbit medicated with XZD(Group D) were observed respectively under light microscope and electron microscope. Results Under light microscope, VEC was shrinked, intercellular space widene d and cytoplasm contained dark granules in Group B. The change of intercellular space was not obvious in Group D. Under electron microscope, pinocytotic vesicle s increased, rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) decreased and dilated, mitochondr ia became smaller and indistinct and only a small amount of microvilli appeared on cell membrane with top expanded and merged in VEC of Group B as compared with Group A and Group C. Less RER but no dilatation and fewer microvilli without to p merged were found in VEC of Group B. Conclusion The serum of BSS rabbits c an injury normal VEC cultured in vitro and XZD exerts a certain protective effe ct on VEC injured by the serum of BSS rabbits.

Purpose To investigate the value of 3.0T MR T1ρquantitative analysis in early detection of disc degeneration. Materials and Methods Conventional T2WI and T1ρwere collected in 35 healthy volunteers (male 16, female 19) on 3.0T MRI, and the classification of disc nucleus was performed by Pfirrmann classification. T1ρvalue of nucleus pulposus was measured and analyzed for the relationship among Pfirrmann classification, segmental and gender. Results There was a significant negative correlation between T1ρvalue and Pfirrmann grade (r=-0.542, P<0.001). T1ρvalue in L5/S1 segment (94.80±26.60) ms was significantly lower than that in L2/L3 (117.18±25.64) ms and L3/L4 (115.52±28.53) ms (P<0.01), and there was no significant difference among other segments (P>0.05);there was no gender differences among the T1ρvalue of each segment (t=0.006, 0.042, 0.797, 1.022, 0.038, P>0.05). Conclusion T1ρ value is closely related to the degree of disc degeneration, and T1ρimaging can be used as an objective, sensitive and effective tool for early detection of disc degeneration.
