Objective To investigate the factors for retinopathy in premature infants. Methods Ophthalmologic mydri was conducted in premature infants and acording to the international classification of ROP, they were diagnosed as ROP. The risk factors of the incidence of ROP were statistically and respectively analyzed. Results Among total of 47 patients, 11 patients were found retinopathy of prematurity. Conclusion The body weight is lower, the gestation is shorter, incidence of ROP is the higher.

Objective To evaluate the effect of the esophagus invert stripping without opening the thoracic cavity on carci- noma in the inferior pharynx, cervical esophagus or the cardia. Method Eighteen patients with carcinoma in the inferior pharynx, cervical esophagus or the cardia were treated surgically with invert stripping of the exophagus without opening the thoracic cavity. Ten patients received antidromic esophagus invert stripping and the other 8 underwent orthodromic esophagus invert stripping. The esophagus of these patients were replaced with either the stomach (in 15 cases) or the colon (in 3 cases), and complete removal of the pharynx and larynx were performed in 2 cases, both of which received permanent fistulization. Result No death occurred during the operation and the complications included anastomotic leakage (2 cases), injury of the recurrent laryngeal nerve (2 cases), pulmonary infection (3 cases), and incision infection (1 case). The follow-up survey showed that the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rates were 77%, 44% and 22%, respectively. Conclusions This surgical approach reduces the damage of the cardiopulmonary function, which can be meaningful for senior patients and those with cardiac or pulmonary problems. The carcinoma in the inferior pharynx or cervical part of the esophagus should be treated surgically to improve the survival rate, but this approach should be avoided in patients with carcinoma in thoracic part of the esophagus.

A new flavonoid glycoside, (-)-2S-8-methyl-5,7,4'-trihydroxyflavanone-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), along with five known ones, quercetin-3-O-(2"-galloyl)-α-L-arabinoside (2), kaempferol-3-O-α-L-arabinoside (3), guaijaverin (4), trifolin (5) and hyperin (6), was isolated from the leaves of Eucalyptus robusta. Their structures with absolute configurations were elucidated by NMR, HR-ESI-MS, CD spectra data and physicochemical methods. In addition, 2-6 were isolated from E. robusta for the first time.

6.Progress in regulatory T cells research.
Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2006;35(5):568-572
Regulatory T cells (Treg) are functionally mature T cell subpopulations which are key players of maintaining the balance of immunological defense system. Treg can proliferate in vivo or in vitro by antigen specific way or non-antigen specific way, and actively control the properties of other immune cells by suppressing their functional activity and their proliferation as well.

7.Inhibition effect of fludarabine on the growth of myelodysplastic syndrome cell line MUTZ-1 and its mechanism.
Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2006;35(2):136-142
OBJECTIVETo investigate the inhibition effect of fludarabine on the growth of human MDS-RAEB cell line MUTZ-1 and to explore the possible cellular and molecular mechanism.
METHODSThe apoptosis of MUTZ-1 cells induced by fludarabine was studied by transmission electron microscope, MTT assay, DNA ladder test, flow cytometry and RT-PCR method.
RESULTTreatment with fludarabine remarkably inhibited the growth of MUTZ-1 cells, the 24 h IC(50), 48 h IC(50) and 72 h IC(50) of fludarabine for MUTZ-1 cells were 137.65 mg/L, 6.27 mg/L and 0.51 mg/L, respectively. Fludarabine inhibited the growth of MUTZ-1 cells in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner. After treated by fludarabine (1 mg/L-16 mg/L)for 24 h, MUTZ-1 cells showed the typical features of apoptosis. After fludarabine treatment the mRNA expression of Bcl-2, Bax, survivin, XIAP, cIAP-1 and cIAP-2 was not changed, but the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) was decreased.
CONCLUSIONWith a certain range of dose fludarabine (1 mg/L-16 mg/L)could inhibit MUTZ-1 cell growth by inducing cells apoptosis. MMP may play a certain role in apoptosis of MUTZ-1 cells induced by fludarabine.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Three hundred and twenty-one bacteria strains were obtained from rice leaves, stem, root tissue and paddy field soil,of which the number of strains which can inhibit mycelium of Magnaporthe grisea growth markedly was fifty-seven through fermentation in 2.0 mL Eppendorf tube, and among these fifty-seven strains, five strains were strongly antagonistic to Magnaporthe grisea. These five strains was identified for their morphologic, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and the results showed that one strain(No.156)was bacillus subtilis, two strains(No.171 and No.177)were Bacillus pumillus and two strains(No.192 and No.279)were Bacillus ploymyxa.

Microbiology 2008;0(09):-
To improve the efficiency of halophilic actinobacteria screening and carry out the rapid selection of targeted strains, we tested 34 strains of Streptomonospora by PCR-single strand conformation polymorphism analysis (PCR-SSCP) based on genus-specific primers for the PCR identification. This approach employs PCR with two pairs of primers located in the 16S rRNA sequence flanking two variable region, then build clustering tree according as SSCP data. Synchronously, we sequenced all the 16S rRNA partial sequences for these strains to verify them. The results showed that the PCR-SSCP analysis was an efficient, easy-to-handle and economic method for rapid selection of halophilic actinobacteria resources.

In this study, plate transparent circle by Davis method was introduce firstly screening ?-Rhamnosidase high-yield strain. The spore-sprouted Aspergillus niger 8-hour were mutagenized by ethyl methane sulphonate and pre-screened via transparent circle. 11% mutants yield 40% higher of ?-rhamnosidase than the original strain. A high-yield strain, T-226 with the highest ?-rhamnosidase activity of 373.4 U/mL was finally selected from these potential high-yield mutants after rescreened by shake flask fermentation twice. When the T-226 strain was fermented in 5 L bioreactor, the enzyme activity could reach to 631.9 U/mL after 84 h. Thus, the established screening method is highly efficient to isolate ?-rhamnosidase high-yield mutant of A. niger.
