Objective To investigate the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemicalcharacteristics of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast(PSCCB). Methods Sixteen patients with primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast were retrospectively reviewed. Twelve cases with a follow-up information were evaluated for ER, PR, C-erbB-2, HCK, Ki-67 expression. Results PSCCB is a very rare neoplasm, constituting 0.8 % of all breast carcinoma over 28 years(1981-2008) in our hospital. The patients age varied from 25 to 72, median age is 49 years old. All patients received operative treatment. Seven patients had metastatic disease in axillary lymph nodes. Three patients died from metastases and tumour recurrence.Tumors were usually ER-negative, but most cases showed high molecular cytokeratin (HCK) expression. Conclusion In terms of the clinical feature, there were no differences between the PSCCB and the other breast cancer. PSCCB could be confirmed by pathology. The prognosis is in controversial. Standard therapy should be studied and recommended in future.

Objective To understand the effect of circumcision in reducing high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV) infection in male adults. Methods One hundred and twenty-eight married adults with phimosis who underwent circumcision enrolled in the case group and high-risk HPV of urethral discharge specimens were detected before and 2 years after operation. A total of 128 cases of phimosis without circumcision were recruited in the control group. High-risk HPV infection rates were compared between the two groups. Results The highrisk HPV infection rates in the two groups were comparable at baseline. In the circumcision group, high-risk HPV infection rate was 27. 3% preoperative and it significantly decreased to 12.5% two years after operation( x2 =8. 839 ,P =0. 005). In the control group, high risk HPV infection rate was 28. 1% at baseline and it was 25.0%two years later, with no significant difference (x2 =0.320,P = 0.671).Conclusion Circumcision can significantly reduce high-risk HPV infection. Promoting circumcision actively in our country may have an important role in preventing high-risk HPV infection.

Objective To analyze the hospitalization expenses of cancer patients covered with byitem payment and quota payment packages, and probe into the impacts on such expenses for the two payment packages. Methods Inpatient records of 600 cancer patients were sampled by random from the medical insurance databases of Zhengzhou and Fuzhou to learn their hospitalization expenses and impact factors. Results Under the by-item payment package, the expenses of urban workers’ medical insurance were found higher than those of urban residents' medical insurance, with a per capita expense of RMB 32747.70 ± 32035.01 and 23035.83 ± 22875.65 respectively.Under the quota payment package however, there were no significant differences between expenses of the two kinds of inpatients, with a per capita expense of RMB 66043.41±47562.09 and 66576.54±73417.29 respectively. Conclusion There are gaps of reimbursement level between the two basic insurance schemes, which may not disappear in a short time.Under the by-item payment package, the gap exists in the difference of perreimbursement amount; under the quota payment package, the gap is negligible between the two populations under different insurance schemes. It is recommended to make reasonable use of these different payment schemes to minimize the relative gaps in medical service accessibility caused by the difference in reimbursement level.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effects and mechanisms of a nature product derivate oridonin on in?vasion of human lung cancer. Methods Human lung cancer A549 and PC-9 cell lines were treated with oridonin. MTS as?say was used to determine cell proliferation. Transwell assay was used to determine the cell invasion, and adhesion assay to determine the cell adhesion. Flow cytometry was used to determine cell cycle. Western blotting and realtime-PCR were used to detect expression levels of CDK1, mTOR, p53, p21, E-cadherin, CD44,β-catenin, uPA, MMP-2/9, p-AKT and p-Src. The luciferase reporter assay was used to detect the NF-κB promoter activity. Results In vitro proliferation, invasion and adhesion of A549 and PC-9 cells were significantly inhibited by oridonin. The cell cycle was halted by G2/M phase, and ex?pressions of E-cadherin, p53 and p21 were promoted, while expressions of CDK1, mTOR, CD44,β-catenin, uPA, MMP-2/9, p-AKT and p-Src and promoter activity of NF-κB were down-regulated. Conclusion Oridonin is able to inhibit the in vitro invasion of human lung cancer A549 and PC-9 cell lines, which might be correlated with its abilities to regulate the ty?rosine kinase activity.
