Objective To study the association between pulse wave velocity and conventional atherosclerotic risk factors in patients with essential hypertension. Methods Automatic pulse wave velocity (PWV) measuring system was applied to examine carotid-femoral PWV (CFPWV) and carotid-radial PWV (CRPWV) as the parameters reflecting central elastic large arterial and peripheral muscular medium-sized arterial elasticity, respectively. Six hundred sixty four hypertensive patients aged 18-82 years (353 males and 311 females, mean age 52.1?12.8 years) were recruited. Blood pressure, fasting glucose, uric acid and cholesterol were measured. Results CFPWV and CRPWV significantly increased with the increase of the blood pressure level (both, P

The spores suspension of Streptomyces roseosporus D-38 irritated with 20mW He-Ne laser for 20 min were incubated on G1 medium plates containing 1. 9?g/mL of streptomycin. Ten percent of mutants increased the potency of daptomycin by streptomycin-resistance method, including the mutant LC-54, which could produce daptomycin 81. 2 mg/L, which was 39% higher than that of the beginning strain by flask fermentation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlationship between congenital heart disease and 5, 10-methylenetetra hydrofolate reductase (MTHFR)'s C677T or folacin intakes, and to study the interaction of them in the occurring of congenital heart disease.
METHODSWe used case-control study (case = 104, control = 208) method. Cases and controls were chosen by age, sex and other conditions. The MTHFR C677T genotype distribution was analyzed by using polymerase chain reaction restricted fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP), and non-conditional and multi-conditional logistic regression analysis were also used to analyze the correlationship and interaction of the factors.
RESULTSIn case group, the number of people in low folacin intake level was 38 (36.54%), which in control group was 21(10.10%). The intake level of folacin during pregnancy was related to congenital heart disease (chi(2) = 31.614, nu = 1, P < 0.0001). The value of OR was 1.417 with 95%CI 1.216 - 1.651, indicating that the low level of folacin intakes was a risk factor to the congenital heart disease. In case group, the number of TT genotype was 46 (44.24%), the number of CT genotype was 42 (40.38%), the number of CC genotype was 16 (15.38%). In control group, the number of TT genotype was 39 (18.75%), the number of CT genotype was 114 (54.81%), the number of CC genotype was 55 (26.44%). A significant genotype distribution difference was identified between case and control group (chi(2) = 23.13, nu = 2, P < 0.0001). Genotype MTHFR 677TT was a risk factor of congenital heart disease and the OR value was 3.437 (95%CI: 2.042 - 5.784). The interaction analysis suggested that the low level of folacin intakes and the MTHFR 677TT genotype had a positive adding effect in the occurring of congenital heart disease. After adjusted some factors such as the ages of parents, fetus age and sex, the effect values of interaction were 13.343 and 15.911 respectively, and the percentages of attributable interaction effects were 0.619 and 0.612. The percentages of effect values of interaction between pure factors were 0.649 and 0.637 and the population attributable risks were 25.26% and 27.82% according to the estimated exposure rate of population risk factors.
CONCLUSIONThe low level of folacin intakes during pregancy should be a risk factor to congenital heart disease and the MTHFR 677TT genotype be correlated to congenital heart disease. There is interaction between folacin intakes and the MTHFR 677TT genotype. Increasing the intakes of folacin among MTHFR 677TT genotype people might decrease the incidence rate of congenital heart disease.

Objective To investigate the iodine nutritional status in the key populations before and after the adjustment of salt iodine content in Yantai of Shandong. Methods In 2010 (the pre-adjustment period) and 2014,2015 (the post-adjustment period),the changes in the residents' iodized salt, the goiter prevalence and urinary iodine of children aged 8-10,the urinary iodine of pregnant women, and the iodine content of drinking water before and after the adjustment were analyzed. Results The coverage rate of iodized salt and the edible rate of qualified iodized salt were 98.27% and 97.28%,respectively before the adjustment of salt iodine content, and 97.44% and 96.14% after the adjustment. The mean of salt iodine after the adjustment (21.96 mg/kg) was significantly lower than that of 2010 (31.45 mg/kg,t =66.29,P < 0.05).The goiter prevalence of children aged 8-10 by thyroid palpation was 0.92% in 2010,while it was 1.89% by ultrasonic in 2014,2015.There was significant difference in the iodine nutritional status of children in 2010 (191.0 μg/L) and in 2014,2015 (173.0 μg/L,Z =3.56,P < 0.05).The difference of iodine nutritional status in pregnant women between pre-adjustment (154.0 μg/L) and post-adjustment (130.4 μg/L) was also significant (Z =5.54,P < 0.05).The median of water iodine was 5.4 μg/L after the adjustment. There were 52 towns with medians of water iodine below 10 μg/L.Conclusions The coverage rate of iodized salt and the edible rate of qualified iodized salt have all met the national standard before and after the adjustment of salt iodine content. The mean of salt iodine during 2014,2015 is significantly lower than that of 2010.Before and after the adjustment, the goiter rates of children aged 8-10 are all below 5%.The adjustment of salt iodine content is more suitable to children aged 8-10 than to pregnant women currently. It is suggested that pregnant women eat more foods rich in iodine.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of computer-assisted postural balance training system combined with Bobath balance training on balance disorders after cerebellar stroke. Methods Forty patients with balance disorders after cerebellar stroke were randomly divided into either a combined training group or a control group (n =20 in each group). The control group was trained with Bobath balance training and routine rehabilitation treatment. On the basis of this, the combined training group used the computerassisted postural balance training system for rehabilitation treatment. The balance function, activities of daily living and motor function were evaluated with the Berg Balance Scale (BBS),modified Barthel Index,mBI)and Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) before and after treatment, and the computer-assisted postural balance training system was used to conduct the postural balance ability according to the center of gravity track length, rectangle area of track, and peripheral area of track. Results There were no significant differences in various indexes before treatment between the patients of both groups. The scores of BBS,mBI and FMA after treatment were increased obviously (all P < 0.001).The the center of gravity track length, rectangle area of track, and peripheral area of track were decreased compared before treatment (P <0.001 or 0.05).In addition to the FMA score, all the indexes of the combined training group after treatment were significantly better than those of the control group (all P<0.05).Conclusions On the basis of Bobath balance training, using computer-assisted postural balance training system can obviously improve the balance disorder and extremities motion ability after cerebellar stroke, and thus improving the activities of daily living in cerebellar stroke patients.

OBJECTIVEThis study aimed to investigate the value of child oral health for Chengdu parents, their intentions, and factors influencing their decision to acquire oral insurance coverage for their childrens.
METHODSA total of 562 Chengdu parents were interviewed using questionnaires by convenient sampling, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 20.0.
RESULTSThe age of children (B = -1.741, P = 0.004), age of parents (B = 2.031, P = 0.003), level of oral discomfort (B = 0.569, P = 0.000), incurring/not incurring oral care expenses in the previous year (B = 1.897, P = 0.014), the last time parents' had teeth cleaned (B = 0.777, P = 0.006), and acquiring/not acquiring commercial insurance coverage (B = 1.632, P = 0.031) significantly influenced the intention of acquiring child oral insurance.
CONCLUSIONChild oral health, health and insurance awareness of parents, and other factors influenced the intention of parents to purchase oral insurance coverage for their children, which were significant to establish pediatric dental insurance.
