Objective To investigate the role of resting pulm on ary function (FEV 1,FVC,VC) and diffusing capacity (D LCO) on exercise limitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods During the period of 2002-04~12 the results of resting pulmonary function test which were and diffusing capacity test performed on 26 subjects with stable COPD were reviewed. The symptom-limited maximum exercise (S LME) were performed.Dyspnea index (DI) and oxygen consumption (V? O 2/kg) were determined with a metabolic cart during exercise.Borg Scale s (BS) was used for counting degree of exertional dyspnea which appeared during exercise. At the end of SLME,arterial blood gas analysis was performed to determi ne PaO 2max,PaCO 2max and Phmax at that time. Results In stepwise multiple regression analysis, the variables significantly contributing to V?O 2max/kg were D LCO % and FEV 1/VC.Conclusion Lung function and diffusing capacity can be importan t determinants of exercise capacity in COPD.

Percutaneous vertebroplasty has many advantages such as minimal trauma, simple mode of operation, rapid and correct therapeutic effect, high safety, and wide indications. Therefore it has been generally paid close attention and accepted. Percutaneous vertebroplasty has conspicuous curative effect, especially in vertebral compression fracture. Polymethyl methacrylate is the most used filling materials at present; There is not significant difference between unipedicular and bipedicular vertebroplasty; Using vertebral body venography and appropriate dense bone cement can reduce leakage of bone cement; Bolster for self-replacement can rebound vertebral body height, and balloon kyphoplasty and sky bone expander kyphoplasty can be avoided; In order to reduce refracture of vertebral body, anti-osteoporosis drugs should be used in the treatment of percutaneous vertebroplasty.

AIM To study the effects of matrine (Ma) on the action potential and contractile force in guinea pig papillary muscles. METHODS Conventional microelectrode technique was used to record the fast action potentials (FAP) and slow action potentials (SAP) induced by histamine and BaCl_2 of guinea pig papillary muscles. RESULTS Ma 10,25,50 ?mol?L -1 dose-dependently prolonged the action potential duration at 50%, 90% repolarization (APD_ 50 , APD_ 90 ) and effective refractory period (ERP) of FAP, and lengthened the APD_ 50 , APD_ 90 of SAP induced by histamine and BaCl_2 when perfused with KCl 25 mmol?L -1 Tyrode's solution. The maximal upstroke velocity (V_ max ) of FAP, SAP and contractile force (Fc) were not affected by matrine 10,25,50 ?mol?L -1 . CONCLUSION It was suggested that Matrine could block K + channels in the myocardium.-

Objective To evaluate the relationship between children interleukin-1 receptor antagonist gene(IL-1RN) polymorphisms and susceptibility to febrile seizures(FS).Methods Matching case-control study was carried out, blood samples from 52 patients with FS and 53 healthy children were collected.Genomic DNA was extracted and examined by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) amplification for judging IL-1RN genetype. Results Only Ⅰ/Ⅰ,Ⅰ/Ⅱ,Ⅱ/Ⅳ genetypes of IL-1RN were found in the surveyed Chinese population of Han nationality in Guangdong Province. No significant differences of these genotypes were observed in patients and controls. But the allele frequencise of Ⅰ,Ⅱand Ⅳ in patients were 95.2%,3.8% and 1.0%,respectively,while these frequencise in controls were 84.9%,10.4% and 4.7%,respectively.The allele frequency of IL-1RNⅠin patients was obviously higher than that in controls(P

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of Jie-jing Mixture in treating spasticity of apoplectic hemiparalysis.Methods60 cases with spasticity of apoplectie hemipuralysis were divided into 2 groups.30 case for treatment group (routine treatment added by Jie-jing Mixture ) and 30 case for control (only receiving routine treatment ).ResultsThe effective rates was 86.7% (treatment group )and 33.3%(control group )with statistical significance ( P<0.01).Conclusions The Jie-jing Mixture has better effect in treating spastisticity of apoplectic hemiparalysis than that of the conventional therapy.

Objective To study the effects of 50 Hz magnetic fields on the in vitro proliferation of human osteosareoma cell line MG-63 with different cell densities. Methods Four different magnetic intensities(1 mT, 2 mT,3 roT,4 mT)were used to stimulate the cells, and the experiment was repeated with different cell densities. The method of MTT was employed to evaluate the level of proliferation. Results Fifty Hz magnetic fields signifi- cantly affected the level of proliferation of human osteosareoma cell line MG-63,and the 2 mT intensity exerted the greatest influence on it.The effects of the magnetic field differed with different cell densities. Conclusion The effect of 50 Hz magnetic fields on the in vitro proliferation of human osteosarcoma cell line MG-63 was not only relat- ed to the magnetic intensity, but also the cell density,

OBJECTIVETo study on the reliability of the Akagi line as a reference axis to guide for rotational alignment of the proximal tibial component in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) the rotational alignment reference bony landmarks of the proximal tibial component on magnetic resonance image (MRI) were measured.
METHODSFrom January 2010 to December 2013, 80 normal knees of Chinese volunteers including 35 males and 45 females with an average age of (35.4±6.1) years were reviewed. The images of the knees were obtained by MRI. The surgical epicondylar axis (STEA) was identified in the femoral transverse sections and then was projected to the side of tibia, forming the SETA'. A line connecting the medial border of the patellar tendon and the middle of the posterior cruciate ligament insertion (Akagi line) and its vertical line (AK), as well as a line connecting the medial 1/3 of the patellar tendon and the middle of the posterior cruciate ligament insertion and its vertical line (AP), were identified in the tibial transverse sections. The angles were measured between the AK, AP and STEA'.
RESULTSThe angle between AK and STEA' was (0.59±2.07)°, and there was no significant difference between the two lines (t=-2.54, P=0.13). The mean angle between AP and STEA' was (3.21±2.04)°, and there was a significant difference between the two lines (t=14.05, P<0.05). There was a significant difference between the AK and AP (t=-11.68, P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe reliability of the Akagi line as a reference axis to guide for rotational alignment of the proximal tibial component in TKA is good.
