Objective To investigate the significance of the Children's Rehabilitation Management System (ICR 2.0) for occupational therapy (OT) for cerebral palsy (CP). Methods 60 children with CP were divided into group A (n=30) and group B (n=30). The group A accepted OT program assisted with ICR 2.0, and the group B accepted OT program drawn by therapists experientially. They were assessed with Enjoji infant development scale and Fine Motor Function Measure (FMFM) before and 3 months after treatment. Results There was no significant difference in development months and the fine motor between 2 groups before treatment (P>0.05). Both the development and fine motor improved after treatment (P<0.001), and improved more in the group A than in the group B (P<0.05). Conclusion ICR 2.0 assisted OT program can further improve the recovery of children with CP.
4. Correlation between the severity of osteoarthritis and the serum levels of IL-4 and sIL-4R
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2015;40(1):63-65
Objective To explore the correlation between the severity of osteoarthritis and the serum levels of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and soluble IL-4 receptor (sIL-4R). Methods Fifty patients with osteoarthritis hospitalized from May 2011 to May 2013 were selected as study group, and 50 healthy individuals during the corresponding period were selected as control group. The serum levels of IL-4 and sIL-4R were determined by EILISA and compared between the two groups. The severity of osteoarthritis of patients in the study group was assessed by Kellgren and Lawrence (K&L) grading system and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC). The relationship between both K&L grade and WOMAC scores and the serum levels of IL-4 and sIL-4R was analyzed. Results The serum level of sIL-4R in the study group (82.12±11.24ng/ml) was significantly higher than that in control group (30.67±5.23ng/ml, P<0.05), but the levels of IL-4 in two groups were similar (14.39±7.14 and 15.23±6.28ng/L, P>0.05). The serum level of sIL-4R in the study group was positively correlated with the WOMAC scores (r=0.313, P<0.05). The sIL-4R levels were increased gradually along with the increase in K&L grade, and the difference between different grades was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The serum level of sIL-4R is correlated with the severity of osteoarthritis, and may be used as an evaluation indicator of severity of osteoarthritis.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of exercise training on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) stable patients in community. MethodsTraditional Chinese exercise prescription was given to 20 COPD patients. They were assessed with 6-minute walk distance (6MWD), the Borg scale and the St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) before and after the training. ResultsThe Borg scales dropped from (4.45±2.04) to (3.15±2.13) (P<0.05). 6MWD increased from (370.32±74.48) m to (403.75±76.15) m (P<0.05). SGRQ scores also showed statistical significant difference (P<0.05). ConclusionExercise training can improve the tolerance and decrease dyspnea in COPD patients in stable stage. It also can improve the quality of life.

Obejective The present study focuses on health assessment of wood based panels which are widely used in interior decoration practices over the recent years in China. Formaldehyde has been identified as chemical indicator of (IAO) and an indoor air pollutant. To test its health effects experiment was undertaken. Method A small environmental test chamber (60/L) was used as the generator of emission gas from new panels, and was operating at a temperature of 22.7±0.6℃ and a humidity of 44.4±2.5 % with an air exchange rate of 1.0±0.15h-1. On the three experimental days the values of product loading in chamber were 4, 2 and 6 m2/m3, respectively. Eight people were selected randomly from the students and employees of Wuhan Health and Anti-epidemic Station as subjects, with an average age of 21.9±5.9 years, and a gender ratio of 1:1, and two of them were smokers (one male and one female). The subjects' eyes were exposed to formaldehyde through a pair of goggles. Each goggle had its flow inlet and outlet, and connected to chamber exhaust of emission gas and to an exhaust from the room. The exposure time was very short, just 5 minutes and the formaldehyde doses were at 1.65±0.01, 2.99±0.07 and 4.31±0.02 ppm. A 60-mm linear visual analogue rating scales was used to measure the intensity of sensory eye irritation and a video tape recorder was used to record eye blinking frequency. Results The results demonstrated that tests of sensory eye irritation and eye blinking can be used for materials testing, and that a dose-effect as well as a time-variance of the effect can be measured. Conclusion The tests showed that eye irritation was perceived at all of the three levels.
