Objective To investigate the relationship between non muscle-invasive bladder can-cer and polymorphisms of DNA repair genes among Han nationality in Shanghai. Methods From January 2006 to June 2008, 94 patients with non muscle-invasive bladder cancer and 304 controls were enrolled. Known single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) in the XPC, XPG, XRCC1 genes were detec-ted by TaqMan real-time PCR. After adjusted for age, sex, and smoking, interaction effects of the genotypes and non muscle-invasive bladder cancer risk, genotypes and clinical and pathological features of bladder cancer were analyzed using unconditional Logistic regression. Results After adjusted for age, sex, and smoking, the XPC 939 Lys/Gln, XPC 939Gin/Gin genotype and XPG 1104 Asp/His, XPG 1104 His/His genotype were more frequent in patients with non muscle-invasive bladder cancer, adjusted OR=1.89, 95%CI 1.14-3. 23 and OR=1.07,95%CI 0.86-1.87, respectively. The XRCC1 Arg399Gln polymorphisms were not significantly associated with non muscle-invasive bladder cancer, adjusted OR= 1.15, 95% CI 0.55-2.40. There were no significant associations between tumor clinical and pathological features in patients who possessed either the XPC or XPG polymor-phisms (P>0.05). Conclusion XPC Lys939Gln and XPG Asp1104His may modulate non muscle-invasive bladder cancer risk among Han nationality in Shanghai.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard of Liyan mixture. METHODS:TLC was conducted to identify the Scrophularia ningpoensis,Terminalia chebula and Glycyrrhiza uralensis;HPLC was conducted to determine the content of chloro-genic acid. The column was Agilent Eclipse Plus C18 with mobile phase of methanol-0.2% phosphoric acid (18:82,V/V) at flow rate of 1.0 ml/min,the detection wavelength was 327 nm,column temperature was 30 ℃ and the injection volume was 20 μl. RE-SULTS:TLC showed S. ningpoensis,T. chebula and G. uralensis had clear spots and good separation. There was no interference for negative control. The linear range of chlorogenic acid was 0.16-1.6 μg(r=0.999 9);RSDs of precision, stability and reproduc-ibility tests were lower than 1.0%,recovery was 96.9%-101.4%(RSD=1.17%,n=9). CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple and reproducible, and can be used for the quality control of Liyan mixture.

Epitope vaccine is one of the emerging vaccine techniques developing in past decade years.Particularly the advantages of this vaccine on preventing and therapy illness,as cancer and virus, are espacially outstanding. The most importent elements about the vaccine, namely T/B-epitopes obtainment and identification, vehicles for epitope and vaccine construction, are reviewed. In addition, applications of the vaccine technique in some refractory diseases, such as cancer, virus and pathogen infection, are depicted.

Abstract: Objective To explore the correlation between monocyte to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (MHR) and insulin resistance (IR) in male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) combined with metabolic-related fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Methods A total of 454 male patients with T2DM combined with MAFLD in National Metabolic Management Center (MMC) of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University from May 2018 to July 2020 were enrolled. The general clinical data of subjects were collected, blood routine and biochemical indexes were tested, homeostasis model insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) was calculated, visceral fat area (VFA) and subcutaneous fat area (SFA) were measured. Accordingtothe MHR quartile, patients were divided into group Q1 (MHR≤0.38), group Q2 (0.38

OBJECTIVETo observe the efficacy of He-wei Jie-gu (Chinese characters) decoction on femoral intertrochanteric fractures after internal fixation in elderly.
METHODSFrom January 2010 to January 2012, 90 elderly patients with osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture were randomly divided into two groups. The patients in experimental group were treated with open reduction and internal fixation, He-wei Jie-gu decoction and Caltrate D in oral, including 18 males and 27 females with an average age of (77.8±11.3) years old ranging from 65 to 89 years old;the time from injured to operation was 2 to 9 days with an average of (6.6±2.1) days; according to Evans-Jensen classification, 17 cases were in type I, 8 in type II, 15 in type III, 3 in type IV, 2 in type V. Meanwhile, the patients in control group were treated with open reduction and internal fixation, Caltrate D in oral, including 16 males and 29 females with an average age of (81.2±9.6) years old ranging from 67 to 91 years old; the time from injury to operation was 2 to 10 days with an average of (6.8±2.6) days; according to Evans-Jensen classification, 15 cases were in type I, 10 in type II, 14 in type III, 4 in type W, 2 in type V. The VAS score, hip BMD value before and after treatment, fracture healing and the Harris function score after operation were recorded and compared.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 3 to 9 months with an average of (5.6±2.8) months. Compared with the control group, the VAS score of the experimental group had an obviously reduction (F=98.138, P<0.01) after treatment; the hip BMD value at 3 months after treatment in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); the fracture healing rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); Harris score in 3 months of follow-up in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (t=2.542, P<0.05); all the differences between two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONHe-wei Jie-gu decoction can reduce postoperative pain and increase bone mineral density after internal fixation of femoral intertrochanteric fracture in elderly, promote the fracture healing and functional recovery in the hip joint.

Objective To analyze the expression of molecular biological markers in patients with early stage adenocarcinoma of lung and to determine the correlation between combined expression and prognosis. Methods Pathologic specimens were collected from 68 patients of early stage adenocarcinoma of lung in our hospital between 2000 to 2002. A panel of molecular markers, including Ki-67, Her-2, P16, P53, VEGF, MMP-9 and CD44v6, were chosen for immunohistochemical analysis of the tumor. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used to ana-lyze the relationship between expression of these factors and prognosis. Results Muhivariable analysis demonstrated significantly elevated risk for the following molecular markers: P53 (RR=3.228,95.0% CI 1.331-7.828, P=0.010),MMP-9(RR=2.071,95.0% CI 1.062-4.036,P=0.033),VEGF (RR=2.577,95.0% CI 1.124-5.908, P=0.025). The survival period in the patients with combined expression was remarkably shortened. Conclusions Combined evaluation of P53, VEGF and MMP-9 has clinical significance to the prognosis of early stage adenocarcino-ma of lung.
