Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2010;26(7):54-57
Objective To analyze and discuss the appropriate use of mixed methods using both qualitative and quantitative approaches to research older persons with depression in Macau in combination with Chinese characteristic of Macau. Methods A mixed methods research design, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, was employed to interpret the lived experiences of these older persons.Using a purposive sampling approach, the final study involved 31 older persons with depression.A range of standardized, validated scales including the MSQ,GDS-15,BI,Lawton IADL,LSNS,SF- 36QOL were adopted. Results These lived experiences clustered into four broad dominant categories: negative thinking, physical limitations and complaints, poor living conditions and social support, and the tragic experience.Negative emotion included useless, hopeless, pessimistic and helpless.Physical limitations included poor activity, dependence, arthralgia, insomnia, poor appetite and memory, too many medicine.Poor living conditions and social support included poverty, illiterate, unfair, etc.Tragic experience included strenuous labor, passing away of father, failure of marriage, etc. Conclusions Mixed methods can be successfully used in discussing life experience of older persons with depression, combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches can explain this research phenomenon more comprehensively and deeply.
2.Consideration on the Improvement of the Current Drug Computer Control Systems in Our Hospital
China Pharmacy 2007;0(34):-
OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the perfecting of hospital information system (HIS) on drug control. METHODS: The problems encountered in using two drug control systems in our hospital were analyzed, and the constructive suggestions on its improvemen was put forward. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: The new HIS should be designed to overcome the weaknesses of the current HIS in code design, assignment of authority limit, drug application and dispensing, drug stocktaking so as to make full use of the merit of the computer management.
3.Research advances of human papillomavirus-related head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
Journal of International Oncology 2015;(4):288-291
Recently, the prevalence of human papillomavirus(HPV)infection in head and neck squa-mous cancers has shown an upward trend, especially in the oropharynx squamous carcinoma. This subset of head and neck cancers possesses distinct clinical and laboratory features and outcome, and is particulary com-mon in individuals who lack the traditional risk factors of tobacco and alcohol abuse. The biological markers and treatment of HPV associated head neck cancers are hot topic in current international research.
4.Conflict management strategies of staff nurses in Macau
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2010;26(20):74-76
Objective To identify the conflict management strategies of staff nurses in Macau. Methods The Thomas -Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI)was employed in the study to investigate the conflict management strategies of a convenience sample of 140 staff nurses who were pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Supplementary) Programme in Macau. Results The most commonly used strategy by staff nurses in Macau for conflict management was accommodation, followed by avoidance, then compromise. In contrast, the least often used strategy was competition. Conclusions Chinese culture as well as nursing education background should be fully considered when developing the training plan of conflict man -agement strategies for staff nurses in Macau.
5.Discussion on perfecting the access of public health physicians in China
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2017;16(3):222-225
Currently,China lacks enough public health physicians and the quality of them varies much.In order to solve this problem, proving the access to public health physician is necessary. On the basis of literature research, this essay summarizes the existing problems of the access to public health physicians:improper professional education in university, curriculum setting and provision about physician registration. The essay argues that it is a feasible way to improve the access of public health physicians in China by further piloting and perfecting the unified post-graduation standardized training system, implementing curriculum reform to enhance students' practical ability and building network physician registration.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(07):-
Objective To evaluate the preoperative CT scanning in cardiac carcinoma. Methods 52 cases of cardiac carcinoma proved by operation and pathology were analysed. Results By CT scanning, the size of the tumor,it′s local extension and relation to the adjacent structures and lymph node metastases could be demonstrated. Conclusion CT scanning plays important role in the operability of the cardiac carcinoma and the planning of treatment.

Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2006;0(17):-
Objective To evaluate the concentration of serum homocysteine,C-reactive protein and the expressions of P-selectin and their relationship in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD).Methods Our study included 44 patients with CAD and 22 negative controls based on coronary angiography(CAG).The concentration of serum Hcy,CRP and the expressions of PS were tested before CAG in 66 patients. Results The concentration of serum Hcy and CRP were markedly increased and the expressions of PS on platelets were significantly increased in patients with CAD compared to control group(P

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2001;21(1):84-85
ObjectiveTo compare the results of controlled- release glipizide and immediate-re- lease glipizide in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods22 patients took controlled-release glipi- zide as treating group, 20 took immediate-release glipizide as compared. The glucose tolerance, insulin, C- peptide and HbA1c were measured before and after treatment. ResultsBoth of controlled-release glipizide and immediate-release glipizide had good results for controlling blood sugar, but controlled-re- lease glipizide did not increase insulin and C-peptide level. Conclusion The controlled-release glipizide had safe and reliable results for controlling blood sugar and decreasing insulin resistence.

Modern Hospital 2015;(3):154-156
Objective To explore the curative effect of family -based socialization management on patients with hypertension in community .Methods A total of 116 patients with hypertension were randomly divided into ob-servation group and control group , 58 patients in each group .Both groups received conventional drug treatment .The control group was given routine chronic disease management and the observation group implemented social manage -ment(patients, families, doctors).Blood pressure(BP),lifestyle and psychological condition were evaluated , and the serum triglyceride ( TG) , low density lipoprotein ( LDL) and homocysteic acid ( Hcy) were detected after one year . Results Blood pressure of patients was dropped significantly in the two groups , as compared with the control group . The BP of patients in the observation group was declined more obviously , the BP up to standard rates , control rates and treatment compliance were raised , the mode of life and mental status were improved obviously , and the serum contents of TG, LDL and Hcy were decreased significantly (p<0.05).Conclusion The use of hypotensorscombined with fam-ily-based social management can effectively help patients to control their blood pressure , raise treatment compli-ance, establish a healthy life style and improve their mental status .The mode is worth of spreading in community .

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the feasibility of a new clinical staging of primary liver cancer (PLC). Methods 1*!038 PLC cases were surgically treated in our hospital from January 1990 to December 1998. Of those, 504 patients receiving liver resection were classified with the TNM staging and new clinical staging. Both staging systems were correlated with survival rates. Results In TNM staging, 24 cases (4 8%) were in stage Ⅰ, 66 cases (13 1%) in Ⅱ, 385 cases (76 4%) in Ⅲ, and 29 cases (5 8%) in Ⅳa. The 5 year survival rates were 79 2%, 62 1%, 32 2% and 0, respectively. As with the new clinical staging, 27 cases (5 4%) were in stage Ⅰa, 81 cases (16 1%) in Ⅰb, 224 cases (44 4%) in Ⅱa, 141 cases (27 9%) in Ⅱb, and 31 cases (6 2%) in Ⅲa. The 5 year survival rates were 70 3%,53 1%,40 2%, 22 7% and 0 respectively. Conclusion While both the TNM staging and new clinical staging have significant correlation with the selection of treatment and evaluation of prognosis, the new staging is more useful in clinical practice.
