2.Evaluation for embryonic stem cell study with the theory of Marx's ethics
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(1):126-128
Stem cell has a prospective future in cells therapy. However, the harvesting of stem cells is a paradoxical issue. In fact.the essence of dispute on stem cell studies is a combat between utilitarianism and moralism. The point of view of Marx's Ethics about stem cell studies present dialectical harmony between utilitarianism and moralism. The development of an embryo is a developing process from cell mass to natural persons.but not social persons which have characteristics of sociality and consciousness.Embryo is not completely a person,so embryonic stem cell harvesting is consistent with Marx's Ethics. But the timing of harvesting stem cells and the way to deal with the embryo need further discussion.
3.Intratympanic steroid injection treatment of sudden hearing loss with diabetes: a Meta-analysis
Chinese Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 2017;24(6):291-295
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacyand safety of intratympanic injection of steroids in the treatment of sudden hearing loss with diabetes.METHODS PubMed, Medline, CNKI, CBM, VIP, and Wanfang databases were searched by electronic retrieval to collect documents meeting the inclusion criteria and extract data.Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3.RESULTS There were 9 articles included in the literature search,a total number of 587 ears, of which 294 ears accepted intratympanic injection of steroids as the experimental group. Another 293 ears was control group,of which 217 ears accepted systemic steroids and 76 ears accepted non-hormone therapy.Meta analysis results showed that the clinical effect of experimental group was more remarkable than that of the control group (Z=3.65, P<0.05;Z=3.70,P<0.05). The influence on blood sugar in experimental group was smaller than that of the control group (χ2=7.471,P<0.05). Other complications of intratympanic steroid injection were self-healing after tympanic membrane perforation, transient dizziness and so on.CONCLUSION There was a significant effect on patients with sudden hearing loss and diabetes through intratympanic steroid injection. It has little effect on blood glucose and slight complications, which is a priority in clinical practice.
4.Study of correlation of diabetic nephropathy with serum endothelin(ET-1) and C-reactive protein(CRP)
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2009;17(11):842-843
Objective To investigate the relationship of diabetic nephropathy with serum endothelin-1(ET-1) and C-reactive protein(CRP). Methods Levels of blood pressure, glucose, lipid, creatinine,ET-1,CRP and urinary albumin excretion(UAER) were measured and calculated in 86 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and 30 healthy subjects. Results Serum ET-1 and CRP were significantly higher in T2DM than in control(P<0.05,P<0.01).Serum ET-1 and CRP were increased with increment of serum creatinine and UAER(P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusions Serum ET-1 and CRP may be involved in the development and progression of diabetic nephropathy.

9.RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MALIGNANT GRANULOMA AND MALIGNANT LYMPHOMA
Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 1995;0(02):-
This study was to compare 104 cases of malignant midline lymphoma with 69 cases of malignant granuloma in their clinical course, initial symptoms, location of lesion, extension of disease, treatment and prognosis. The two groups were similar in sex and median age. As regard to the initial symptoms such as nasal obstruction, epistaxis and nasal discharge, they were present in more than half of the patients in both groups. The primary location of lesions was in the nose (60% in both groups). As the Ann Arbor staging system is unsuitable for this disease, we compared the treatment results by area of involvement. Treatment: 74% of malignant midline lymphoma was treated by radiation and chemotherapy. 27% of malignant granuloma was treated by chemotherapy. The radiation of the two groups were 45~55Gy and 50~60Gy, respectively. The 5-year survival rates were over 90% in both groups, for those of lesion with one area involvement, 87.8% and 68% for lesions with two area involvement. 52.3% and 51.5% for three area involvement, 26.6% and 29% for four area involvement patients. Besides local uncontrol, the failure was extra-nodal invasion, such as subcutaneous nodules, pleura-peritoneal or bone marrow extensions. The authors believe that these two groups of lesions actually belong to one disease entity.
10.Gene polymorphisms predict efficacy and toxicity of chemotherapy for colorectal cancer
Tumor 2010;(2):164-169
Objective:The efficacy and toxicity of anticancer drugs differ in different tumor patients. It could not meet the requirements of optimization of tumor treatment if only under the guidance of clinical and pathologic characteristics. More and more attention is focused on individualized therapy based on individual gene profiles. It has been identified that gene polymorphisms are responsible for different outcomes of individuals. Gene polymorphisms, including sequence polymorphism and single nucleotide polymorphism, will decrease the clinical efficacy of chemotherapeutic drugs or increase adverse reactions by influencing the expression or activity of the corresponding proteins. In recent years several gene polymorphisms related to drug metabolism, transportation, or inactivation may affect the outcomes of chemotherapy and the frequency of adverse reactions. Identification of the polymorphism genes is important for individual therapy for tumor patients.
