Purpose: This study assessed the performance of the ultrasound-guided attenuation parameter (UGAP) in diagnosing and grading hepatic steatosis in patients with metabolic dysfunctionassociated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Methods: Patients with hepatic steatosis were enrolled in this prospective study and underwent UGAP measurements. MRI-PDFF values of ≥5%, ≥15%, and ≥25% were used as references for the diagnosis of steatosis grades ≥S1, ≥S2, and S3, respectively. Spearman correlation coefficients and area under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUCs) were calculated. Results: Between July 2023 and June 2024, the study included 88 patients (median age, 40 years; interquartile range [IQR], 36 to 46 years), of whom 54.5% (48/88) were men and 45.5% (40/88) were women. Steatosis grades exhibited the following distribution: 22.7% (20/88) had S0, 50.0% (44/88) had S1, 21.6% (19/88) had S2, and 5.7% (5/88) had S3. The success rate for UGAP measurements was 100%. The median UGAP value was 0.74 dB/cm/MHz (IQR, 0.65 to 0.82 dB/ cm/MHz), and UGAP values were positively correlated with MRI-PDFF (r=0.77, P<0.001). The AUCs of UGAP for the diagnoses of ≥S1, ≥S2, and S3 steatosis were 0.91, 0.90, and 0.88, respectively. In the subgroup analysis, 98.4% (60/61) of patients had valid controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) values. UGAP measurements were positively correlated with CAP values (r=0.65, P<0.001). Conclusion Using MRI-PDFF as the reference standard, UGAP demonstrates good diagnostic performance in the detection and grading of hepatic steatosis in patients with MASLD.

Methods: Thirty patients with PDVO of the lumbar or thoracic spine treated with transforaminal interbody debridement and fusion (TIDF) with AIBG between March 2014 and May 2022 were reviewed (AIBG group). For comparative analysis, 28 PDVO patients who underwent TIDF without AIBG between January 2009 and June 2011 were enrolled (non-AIBG group). The minimum follow-up duration was 2 years. Clinical characteristics and surgical indications were comparable in the two groups. C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and the postoperative antibiotics course were compared between the two groups. Results: Surgical treatment for PDVO resulted in clinical improvement and adequate infection control. Despite the shorter postoperative intravenous antibiotic duration (mean: 19.0 days vs. 39.8 days), the AIBG group had significantly lower CRP levels at postoperative 4 and 6 weeks. The mean Visual Analog Scale pain scores improved from 7.3 preoperatively to 2.2 at 6 weeks postoperatively. The average angle correction at the last follow-up was 7.9°. Conclusions TIDF with AIBG for PDVO can achieve local infection control with a faster reduction in CRP levels, leading to a shorter antibiotic duration.

Objective To explore the acupoint selection rules of acupuncture and moxibustion for the treatment of female menopausal obesity and to provide reference for clinical acupuncture treatment of female menopausal obesity based on data mining techniques.Methods Clinical literature on acupuncture treatment of female menopausal obesity was searched by computer in CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,SinoMed,and PubMed database,and the time limit of searching was from the establishment of database to the date of 1 August 2023,and the literature was screened and extracted according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.The association rule analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Moderler 18.0 software,and cluster analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 27.0 software.Results A total of 50 literature meeting the requirements were screened out,and 83 groups of acupoint prescriptions were extracted.Descriptive analysis showed that the intervention measures of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of female menopausal obesity were mainly acupoint catgut embedding,electroacupuncture and auricular acupuncture.The top 7 acupoints with the highest frequency were Sanyinjiao(SP6),Zusanli(ST36),Shenshu(BL23),Tianshu(ST25),Guanyuan(RN4),Zhongwan(RN12)and Qihai(RN6).Stomach meridian of foot yangming,conception vessel,bladder meridian of foot taiyang and spleen meridian of foot taiyin are the most commonly selected meridians.In terms of specific acupoints,the main acupoints are intersection points,front-mu points and back-shu points.The acupoints are mainly distributed in the chest and abdomen,lower limbs and waist and back.By using data mining technology,the core acupoint pair of acupuncture and moxibustion for menopausal obesity is'Zusanli-Sanyinjiao',and the core acupoint prescription is'Zusanli,Sanyinjiao,Zhongwan,Tianshu,Shenshu,Guanyuan,Qihai';cluster analysis found 7 types of clinical acupoint clustering.Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion for the treatment of female menopausal obesity focuses on tonifying the essence of the kidney and restoring the qi mechanism and characteristics of acupoint selection of spleen and stomach qi.

Background Previous research on chlorinated paraffins (CPs) in fine particulate matter (PM_2.5) has predominantly focused on short- and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs and MCCPs), and few studies could simultaneously determine short-, medium-, and long-chain chlorinated paraffins (LCCPs). Simultaneous extraction and determination of SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs in PM_2.5 could provide technical support for their environmental monitoring and human health risk assessment. Objective To establish a method based on QUEChERS pretreatment method in conjunction with ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole/orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry for simultaneously determining the levels of SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs in PM_2.5. Methods The extraction solvents, extraction salts, and extraction steps of a QuEChERS method were optimized. The extraction efficiencies of the target substances were compared under 4 extraction solvents [acetonitrile, dichloromethane, and n-hexane solvents in sequence; acetonitrile: dichloromethane: n-hexane = 1: 1: 2 (v/v/v) mixed solvent; 1% acetic acid-acetonitrile: dichloromethane: n-hexane = 1: 1: 1 (v/v/v) mixed solvent; acetonitrile: dichloromethane: n-hexane = 1: 1: 1 (v/v/v) mixed solvent], 2 dehydrated salts (anhydrous MgSO₄+NaCl and anhydrous Na₂SO₄+NaCl), 2 purification salts (C18 and PSA), and 4 vortex time (5, 7.5, 10, and 12.5 min) conditions. Then internal standard was utilized to estimate linear range and detection limit of the refined QuEChERS approach. Results The linearities of SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs were good in the range of 10~1000 ng·mL⁻¹ with the correlation coefficients all greater than 0.96. The method detection limits (MDLs) ranged from 0.01 to 0.29 ng·m⁻³. The spiked recoveries of SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs at the low, medium, and high concentrations were 77.38%-81.64%, 93.11%-99.78%, and 87.41%-101.39%, respectively, and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were 2.90%-12.84%. This method was used to determine the CPs levels in 11 PM_2.5 samples from Shijiazhuang. The positive rates of ∑SCCPs, ∑MCCPs, and ∑LCCPs were all 100%, the concentration ranges were 0.24-2.18 ng·m⁻³ (mean 0.84 ng·m⁻³), 0.17-1.67 ng·m⁻³ (mean 0.70 ng·m⁻³), and 0.01-0.16 ng·m⁻³ (mean 0.04 ng·m⁻³), respectively, and the percentages to ΣCPs were 52.95%, 44.39%, and 2.66%, respectively. Conclusion The method established in this study is simple, time-saving, solvent saving, and can simultaneously detect SCCPs, MCCPs, and LCCPs in PM_2.5, which is suitable for the determination of PM_2.5 samples in large quantities, and can also provide a reference for the detection methods of other halogenated organic compounds in PM_2.5.
