Objective To evaluate the clinical effects in treating periprosthetic femoral fractures classified Vancouver B2 with a cementless modular revision femoral prosthesis. Methods Twenty-six patients (7 males and 19 females with mean age of 66.5 years, range 60-69 years) who suffered from periprosthetic femoral fractures classified Vancouver B2 were treated with a cementless modular revision femoral prosthesis in hip revision and open reduction and internal fixation with cables or plates from March 2007 to February 2014.The previous femoral prostheses included 21 cementless and 5 cemented hip stems. The period from former procedures to fractures was 16 months, range from 7 to 32 months.Harris hip scores and numerical rating scales were analyzed statistically.Time of leaving bed, discharging, fracture union postoperative complications and radiographic imaging were also recorded. Results The operation duration were 143 (range 105-165) minutes.Blood loss volume was 450 (range 270-780) ml.Blood transfusion volume were 330 (range 0-800) ml.All patients were followed up at least two years, averagely 3.5 years after surgeries. All fractures healed at 6.5 (range 3-12) months averagely after surgeries.Harris hip scores improved significantly from 11.8±2.5 before surgeries to 80.3±5.3 one month and to 91.4±7.3 six months after surgeries separately (F=0.715,P=0.001).Numerical rating scales were 9.6±0.3,9.4±0.4 and 9.1±0.7 points averagely in aspect of information acquisition, postoperative pain control and function recovery respectively one month after surgeries.Average time of leaving bed and discharging from surgeries was 68.3 (range 51-75) hours and 6.5 (range 5-9) days respectively. No postoperative complications was found except dislocation in 1 hip, lower limb discrepancy in 1 hip,DVT in 1 hip,and heterotopic ossification in 3 hips. Conclusion Due to achieving prosthetic stability and fracture union, periprosthetic femoral fractures classified Vancouver B2 treated with a cementless modular revision femoral prosthesis combined with open reduction and internal fixation with cables or plates can reach good clinical outcomes.

[Objective]To observe and analyze the clinical results of ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament(OPLL) combined with high-signal intensity zone(HIZ) change. [Methods]Forty patients with OPLL combined with HIZ were treated from March 2004 to March 2008.Anterior approach surgery was given to 19 cases as group A and posterior approach surgery was given to 21 cases as group P.All cases were followed up.The pre-and post-operative JOA17 scores and improvement ratio were evaluated.[Results]The mean follow-up time were(19.5?3.4) months in group A and(20.3?4.5) months in group P.The mean improvement ratio were(56.2?8.4)% in group A and(52.2?12.2)% in group P.There were no statistical differences between those of groups A and P.Mean JOA scores at last follow-up were(12.8?0.9) in group A and(11.5?1.6) in group P,with significantly difference.[Conclusion]Treatment of OPLL combined with HIZ is a high risk procedure with limited recovery in neoro-function.Good surgical result could be got with correct judgement of type and location of OPLL,occupation ratio of spinal canal and selection of approach.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the protective effect of topiramate(TPM) on neuronal apoptosis in rats with acute seizures. Methods We treated the PTZ-induced seizure rats with TPM at 80mg/(kg?d)(high-dose group) and 40mg/(kg?d)(middle-dose group) or physiological saline(control group) for 2 weeks.Neuronal apoptosis in CA_1 and CA_3 regions in hippocampus was identified by terminal deoxynucletidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin in situ nick end labeling(TUNEL) assay. Results Two weeks following seizures,TUNEL-positive neurons were detected in CA_1 and CA_3 regions each group. The numbers of TUNEL-positive neurons in CA_1 and CA_3 of control group were(35.83?)4.58 and(36.83?)3.83,(23.50?)2.81 and(25.50?)3.72 of high-dose TPM group,(31.52?)3.43 and(32.35?)4.69 of middle-dose TPM group. There was a very significant difference between high-dose TPM group and control group(all(P)0.05).Conclusion High dose administration of TPM after experimental status epilepticus may attenuate seizure-induced hippocampal neuronal injury.
5.Isolation and Identification of One Marine Actinomycete Strain Exhibiting Antitumor Activity
Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
The fermentation broth of one actinomycete strain ACMA006 strongly inhibited growth of many tumor cells and some microorganisms, but its cytotoxicity to human normal cells were weak. Strain ACMA006 grow well on most tested media, producing exuberant vegetative hyphae and aerial hyphae. Its optimization temperature is 28?C. Phyloge-netic analysis based on 16S rDNA sequence showed that strain ACMA006 was closely related to one of the genus Streptomycetes (S.cavourensis subsp. washingtonensis) with 16S rDNA sequence similarity values of 100%, but had many differences in other features including its morphology, physiological and biochemical characteristics. The pre-liminary study supported the view that the strain ACMA006 represented a new strain of the S.cavourensis subsp. wash-ingtonensis.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
A strain of resistance to copper and cadmium with high concentration, named NTG-01, was isolated from soils of DaYe county mineral area in HuBei province. It can resist copper of 4.5mmol/L and cadmium of 2mmol/L , so we can say that it is a important strain used to study the resistance mechanism of copper and cadmium. A series of morphological and biochemical characteristics and sequences analysis of 16S rDNA reveal that it belongs to the bacteria and is gram negative, short rod, flagella around, the size of bacteria is about 0.8?m?2.0?m , V-P result shows positive, methyl-red result displays negative, and glucose can be utilized to produce acid and gas; In addition to, we find that it has the percent 99 homologous to Enterobacteraerogenes by 16S rDNA sequences BLAST analysis, plus the results of morphological and biochemical parameters, it belongs to Enterobacteraerogenes. We can conclude that NTG-01 has higher resistance to many different heavy metals by measuring MICs values of nine heavy metals at last.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(10):-
Current materials used for maxillofacial prostheses are far from ideal, and how to develop a final prosthetics material is a significant topic in the research of maxillofacial prostheses. In this paper, some pertinent research of silicone elastomeric materials, such as mechanical properties and colorant are reviewed.
