Objective To explore the suicide ideation and related factors in elderly with depressive disorder. Methods A sample of 60 old patients meeting the criteria of ICD-10 for depressive disorder and 60 normal controls were assessed by the Self-rating Idea of Suicide Scale(SIOSS),Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI).Results The score of despair factor, optimistic factor, sleep factor, conceal factor and total score of SIOSS in patients with depressive disorders (6.22±3.28,2.43± 1.47,1.87± 1.58,1.17± 1.1 1 and 10.51±4.91,respectively) were significantly higher than those of normal controls(t=5.83-14.03,P<0.01).The scores of SIOSS in patients were significantly positively related with the scores of SAS,SDS,PSQI and N C (r=0.311-0.792,all P<0.05),but negatively related with the scores of PC(r=-0.761,P<0.01).Moreover,regression analysis showed that the suicide ideation was increased in accordance with serious depression, anxiety, sleep quality, higher level of education and decreased ability to positive response in elderly with depressive disorder(R 2=0.853,F=62.768,P<0.01).Conclusion The suicide ideation in elderly with depressive disorder is more serious than that of normal people, and may be influenced by depression, anxiety, sleep quality and coping style.

ObjectiveTo investigate the feasibitity of detecting S100A6 expression at mRNA level in endoscopic ultrasonography guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) specimens and its diagnostic value in PDA.MethodsA total of 18 PDA specimens and 22 normal pancreatic specimens were collected. RNA was extracted for reverse transcription. The expression of S100A6 gene was examined by real-time polymerase chain reaction. The cut-off value of S100A6 expression at mRNA level in PDA diagnosis was established through receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. 28 patients with pancreatic head masses were selected for EUS-FNA examination, and the value of S100A6 mRNA expression level in PDA diagnosis was prospectively evaluated. The expression of S100A6 protein in PDA tissue was determined by immunohistochemistry staining.ResultsS100A6 mRNA expression in EUS-FNA and surgical PDA specimens (0.05023±0.10120,0.02083 ± 0.02848) was significantly higher than that of normal pancreatic tissues (0.00164±0.00202),both P<0.01.The expression of S100A6 in 22 EUS-FNA PDA specimens was significantly higher than that of 6 pancreatic benign disease biopsy specimens (0.00193 ± 0.00278,P =0.0009). There was no significant difference in S100A6 expression between 6 pancreatic benign disease biopsy specimens and normal surgical pancreatic samples (P=0.6143).When S100A6 mRNA expression in EUS-FNA specimens over 0.00525 was taken as positive diagnostic value, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy in prospective pancreatic cancer diagnosis were 90.01%,100 % and 92.85 %,respectively.ConclusionThe high expression of S100A6 mRNA in EUS-FNA specimens of PDA has good preoperative diagnostic value.

AIM:To investigate the effects of grasp seed procyanidins(GSP) on homocysteine-induced proliferation and migration in vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMC) and related molecular mechanisms.METHODS: Cell count and -TdR assay were used for detecting cell proliferation and DNA synthesis,ELISA assay was used for detecting inflammatory response,DCFH-DA assay for examining the levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS),Western blotting for detecting protein expression.RESULTS: Homocysteine(0.1-1 mmol/L) increased VSMC proliferation and migration, and the levels of ROS were in a dose-dependent manner. The results of Western blotting showed that homocysteine significantly increased the expression of MCP-1,IL-6 and TNF-?.However,Compared with control group,in GSP(5-20 g/L) group, the increased VSMC proliferation, migration and the production of ROS and the expression of MCP-1,IL-6 and TNF-? mediated by homocysteine were markedly suppressed.EMSA showed that in GSP treatment group, the NF-?B activation was also almost completely inhibited.CONCLUSION: GSP inhibits homocysteine-induced VSMC proliferation, migration and inflammatory response through interfering with ROS dependent on NF-?B signal pathway.

Patients with metabolic syndrome(MS)are at potential risk for cardiovascular disease and have received increasing public and medical attention.Studies have shown that regular physical exercise can effectively regulate meta-bolic indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids, and play a positive role in reducing the risk of cardio-vascular disease and improving the prognosis of patients.Exercise intensity has been identified as the most important as-pect in reducing the risk of cardiovascular death and all-cause mortality in exercise intervention. Therefore, the design of exercise prescription which is both scientific and satisfying individual differences has become the focus of research. Most of the current clinical studies are based on the percentage of exercise intensity as the basis for the formulation of standard-ized exercise prescription for MS patients, while the studies on the individualized threshold of exercise intensity based on cardiopulmonary exercise test(CPET)are still few.CPET has shown that individualized exercise prescription can effec-tively reduce body composition index, blood pressure and blood glucose, improve cardiorespiratory function, exercise en-durance and quality of life in MS patients. This paper reviewed the development of individualized exercise programs with different intensification according to threshold indexes in CPET,analyzed the intervention effects and possible mechanisms for MS patients and subgroups, and provided certain reference for the formulation and implementation of personalized exer-cise prescriptions for MS patients, and also provided references for in-depth research on individualized exercise intervention for MS.

Objective To compare the effects of two exercise intensities on metabolic syndrome(MS).Methods Forty-nine MS patients hospitalized in Taiyuan Central Hospital from December,2022 to January 2024 were selected and randomly divided into two groups:a standard group(n=24)and individual group(n=25).All patients underwent cardiopulmonary exercise test(CPET)before and after treatment, collecting major indexes including body parameter, body component, and metabolic indicator for prescribing exercise programs. The standard group was trained with exercise intensity prescribed on heart rate reserve, while the individual group received the exercise with intensity prescribed on ventilatory threshold. Both groups received equal energy consumption exercise intervention with the same exercise frequency for 12 weeks. Results The two groups demonstrated significant improvements in waist circumference(WC),body mass index(BMI),body fat related indexes, and systolic blood pressure after intervention(P<0.05).The individual group showed significant improvements inWC,BMI and body fat related indexes as compared to the standard group(P<0.05).Both groups showed significant improvements in peak oxygen uptake,(PeakVO2),peak load power(Peak WR),peak metabolic equivalent(PeakMets),and peak respiratory exchange ratio(Peak RER)after intervention(P<0.05).The individual group presented significant improvements in peak heart rate(HRpeak),peak oxygen pulse(Peak VO2/HR),and maximum voluntary ventilation(MVV)(P<0.05)after intervention. Before intervention, the standard group demonstrated significantly higher levels in PeakVO2 and Peak MET compared to the individual group(P<0.05),but after intervention the two groups showed no significant differences in the two indexes. After the intervention, the individual group demonstrated insignificant improvements in all indexes compared to the standard group(P>0.05).Conclusions Both exercise prescriptions based on CPET can effectively improve the health-related indicators of MS patients on condition of moderate exercise intensity. However, the program prescribed based on individualized ventilatory threshold shows superiority to the program prescribed based on maximum physiological value in improving these indicators.
