Objective To investigate the clinical application of venturi oxygen therapy heated humidify system and closed endotracheal suctioning method for non-mechanical ventilation and tracheotomy patients with severe brain trauma. Methods The patients who met the experimental criterion were divided into the experimental group and the control group based on the admission date with 50 cases in each group. The experimental group was given venturi oxygen therapy heated humidify system and closed suction method, and the control group was treated with open endotracheal suctioning and continuous wet micro-injection pump method for artificial airway care. The humidification effect, sputum formation and the effect of oxygen therapy were compared between the two groups on the first day, third day and seventh day after the intervention. Results On the third and the seventh day,the humidifying effect and the effect of oxygen therapy in the experimental group were better than control group. The cases of sputum formation in the experimental group were less than the control group. They were statistically significant. Conclusions Combination of venturi oxygen therapy heated humidify system and closed endotracheal suctioning method can effectively reduce the sputum formation of non-mechanical ventilation and tracheotomy patients with severe brain trauma,it also can improve the effect of humidification and oxygen therapy,to improve ventilation, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
2.Discussion on modif ied Shenxian decoction treating connective tissue disease (CTD) combined with pulmonary interstitial f ibrosis (PIF)
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(08):-
Pulmonary interstitial fibrosis (PIF) is a common complication of connective tissue disease (CTD). The patients with PIF usually manifest with intensive dry cough, progressive dyspnea aggravated by activities, and even weight loss and very fatigued. In this paper, we have applied the traditional methods of "invigorating qi for ascending" and "strengthening earth to generate metal" with modif ied Shenxian decoction for treating CTD combined with PIF to support healthy energy, ascend thoracic qi, and ascend both qi of lung and spleen. We have observed Shenxian decoction could enhance body immune system, benefit the repair of damaged lung tissues, improve microcirculations, and treat both branch and root of body, which has been giving patients prominent effects.

Objective To investigate the changes in the serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in experimental Wistar rats with hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE) after hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) of bevacizumab treatment, and to discuss the efficacy of HAI of bevacizumab for hepatic alveolar echinococcosis. Methods Forty Wistar rats with successfully established HAE were randomly and equally divided into two groups with 20 rats in each group: the control group and the study group. Hepatic arterial infusion of saline was performed in the rats of the control group , while hepatic arterial infusion of bevacizumab was carried out in the rats of the study group. Before and 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after the treatment peripheral blood samples were collected from the tail vein, and the serum levels of VEGF, apartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) were determined by the quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). All the rats were sacrificed 28 days after the treatment. HAE samples were examined to evaluate the effect of bevacizumab on HAE lesions. Results Seven days after hepatic arterial infusion of bevacizumab, serum VEGF expression level in the study group became gradually decreased, and the difference was statistically significant when compared with the preoperative level or with that in the control group (P = 0.019). Fourteen days after the treatment, the serum VEGF expression level kept going down to its lowest point, and the difference in serum VEGF expression level was statistically significant when compared with the preoperative level (P < 0.01). Twenty-one days after the treatment, serum VEGF expression level started to rise and it returned to normal level in 28 days after the treatment. In the control group no significant changes in serum VEGF expression levels was observed after hepatic arterial injection of saline (P > 0.05). Conclusion In treating hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, hepatic arterial infusion of bevacizumab has certain inhibitory effect on angiogenesis. This therapy is safe and effective.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of 0.1% mometasone furoate cream in the topical treatment of eczematous dermatoses including neurodermatitis and eczema. Methods A randomized double-blind parallel controlled clinical trial was conducted. The home made mometasone furoate cream or imported Eloson cream was topically used in patients with such dermatoses once daily for 4 weeks, respectively. Symptom/sign scores were evaluated at the beginning of the treatment and at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th week after the initiation of the treatment. Results Two hundred and eighty-four patients were enrolled in the trial, including 143 patients with eczema and 141 patients with neurodermatitis. There are 142 patients each in test group and control group separately. All symptom/sign scores and total scores were significantly decreased 1, 2, 3, and 4 week after the treatment. No statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups. The cure rate and improvement rate in eczema patients were 78.87% and 97.18% in the test group; 84.51% and 92.96% in the control group; respectively. While the cure rate and improvement rate in neurodermatitis patients were 75.71% and 100% in the test group; 80.28% and 94.37% in the control group; respectively. The cure rate and improvement rate of total patients were 77.30% and 98.58% in the test group; 82.39% and 93.64% in the control group; respectively. No statistically significant difference in efficacy was observed between the two groups. There was no severe side effect in the two groups. One patient had mild contact dermatitis in the test group. Conclusions These results suggest that 0.1% mometasone furoate cream is an effective and safe drug in the treatment of neurodermatitis and eczema.
