Aim To explore the effects of hydrocortisone on intracellular calcium in microglial cells. Methods The intracellular calcium was measured by instantaneous scanning with confocal laser microscope(CLM) in BV-2 cells, and fluo3-AM was used to dye the intracellular calcium. Results Both hydrocortisone and nicotine could obviously increase intracellular calcium in BV-2 cells(P<0.05).It was indicated by instantaneous scanning with CLM that hydrocortisone induced the rising of intracellular calcium immediately, and reached the peak about at the fifteenth second, and sustained for 10 seconds, then declined to baseline at 200th second. The effect of hydrocortisone on intracellular calcium exhibited a highly consistency with nicotine.Antagonist of glucocorticoid receptors RU486 could not abolish the rising of intracellular calcium induced by hydrocortisone(P>0.05);but the blocker of α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor(α7nAChR) methyllycaconitine could suppress the rising of intracellular calcium induced by hydrocortisone(P<0.05).Conclusion Hydrocortisone enhances intracellular calcium via α7nAChR in microglial cells, which not only demonstrates the non-genomic effect of glucocorticoid, but also suggests that glucocorticoid could serve as endogenous ligand of α7nAChR.

Objective: To know the psychological health status of the college students with guarded experience and to supply reasonable suggestion for psychological health education and consultation. Methods: SCL-90 questionairs were applied to survey the psychological health status of the college students in grade 2 and 3.Results: The psychological characteristic of the students with guarded experience involve.(1) Compared with the national college students norm, the scores of interpersonal sensitivity, depression anxiety and horror are higher(.2) Compared with the college students without guarded experience, the scores of anxiety and horror are higher.(3) Inside the students with guarded experience, the scores of interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety and horror in females are higher than those in males. The above outlined have statistical significance. Conclusion: The guarded experience has positive influence on college students, psychological health, especially on females,We should enforce psychological health education, improve the psychological quality and reduce the psychological disease.

OBJECTIVETo examine the oral health status among the orphan children and adolescents of Chongqing and assist in planning of the oral health programs.
METHODSAccording to the third national oral health investigation of epidemiology, the dental caries, gingival bleeding and calculus was examined among 317 orphan living in Chongqing, by cluster sampling. The statistical software SPSS 17.0 was used for the data analysis.
RESULTSIn primary and permanent teeth, the prevalence of dental caries and mean DMFT (dmft) were found to be 50.00%, 1.94 +/- 2.81 and 39.53%, 0.90 +/- 1.38. There were no significant difference between female and male (P>0.05). But there was significant difference of the prevalence of permanent tooth caries between the age group under 12 (include 12) and above 12 (P < 0.05). It was also found that 35.25% of the orphan children and adolescents had caries in the first permanent molar, and there was significant difference between female and male (P < 0.05). Neither of the caries teeth above was treated nor the healthy teeth were sealed. The prevalence rate of gingival bleeding was 78.22%, and the calculus rate was 67.66%.
CONCLUSIONThe oral status of the orphan is poor, and this community has experienced a low utilization of preventive or therapeutic oral health services. In the future work, orphans should be considered as a priority group when make plans for oral health care.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;17(4):281-283
Objective To evaluate the MR imaging and CT appearances of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) of the liver and improve the accuracy of diagnosis in FNH. Methods 6 patients with solitary FNH underwent MR exiamnation. Dynamic Gd-DTPA enhancement were performed in all the lesions. Of the 6 patients, three underwent CT plain and dynamic contrast scan; one underwent CT plain scan. More attention was payed to the atypical appearances. Results Atypical lesion appearances ineludod:apparent hypointensity on T1 WI and hyperintensity on T2WI,diffusly heterogeneous enhancement in arterial phase, pseudocapsule enhancement in delayed phase;the dynamic contrast MR and CT appearance in each phase were not all similar. Conclusion MR and CT especially dynamic contrast enhancemenl is of great value to the diagnosis of FNH. The atypical appearances of FNH shoud keep in mind to avoid misdiagnosis.

Objective:To investigate the application effect of case-based learning (CBL) based on the clinical case library of stomatology in standardized residency training for comprehensive stomatology. Methods:A total of 52 residents in Department of Stomatology, Chongqing Medical University, were given CBL teaching based on the clinical case library of comprehensive stomatology, and a questionnaire survey was performed to evaluate the teaching effect. Theoretical and skill assessments were performed before and after CBL teaching, and a comparative analysis was performed. SPSS 19.0 software was used for the t-test. Results:The questionnaire survey showed that CBL teaching based on the clinical case library of stomatology effectively improved the ability of independent learning [92.31% (48/52)], the interest in learning [88.46% (46/52)], and the ability for case diagnosis and the accuracy of investigation and judgment [94.23% (49/52)]. This method helped with the mastery and understanding of the theoretical knowledge in stomatology [96.15% (50/52)] and improved the abilities for expression and communication [84.62% (44/52)] and the ability to find and solve problems [94.23% (49/52)]. It also helped to stimulate the interest in scientific research and teaching [82.69% (43/52)] and create an active classroom atmosphere [82.69% (43/52)]. Among these residents, 94.23% (49/52) liked CBL teaching, and 88.64% (46/52) thought the setting of the case library was reasonable. After the application of CBL teaching, there were significant increases in theoretical score [from (66.74±4.25) points to (81.44±7.16) points] and skill examination score [from (64.00±3.14) points to (81.96±7.50) points].Conclusions:CBL teaching based on the case library of stomatology has a good teaching effect in the standardized residency training for comprehensive stomatology and can not only improve the theoretical and skill assessments of residents, but also improve their learning interest and clinical thinking ability.
