OBJECTIVE:
Through the analysis of coagulation convention and blood routine parameters of sudden hearing loss (SHL) patients, further prove the correlation of sudden deafness and the the inner ear microcirculation, to guide clinical diagnosis and treatment.
METHOD:
Select 424 patients (448 ears) with sudden deafness in our department to SHL group. According to hearing curve is classified into low intermediate frequency descent group, high frequency drop and full frequency group, and drawing 244 cases in the same period of hospitalization deviated septum, vocal cord polyp patients as control group. All patients' coagulation detection, D-dimer, blood leukocytes, neutrophils and platelet count percentages were analyzed. Then a meaningful factor multivariate Logistic regression analysis was made.
RESULT:
There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups' prothrombin time, international normalized ratio, activated partial thromboplastin time, thrombin time measurement, fibrinogen, D-dimer, platelet count, white blood cell, neutrophil ratio(P<0.05); Logistic regression analysis showed that the prothrombin, thrombin time measurement, fibrinogen, D-dimer, neutrophil incidence of sudden hearing loss associated risk factors.
CONCLUSION
SHL in patients with coagulation dysfunction may be involved in the occurrence of SHL development mechanism, and there is a correlation of the SHL and the dysfunction of inner ear microcirculation.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2011;10(2):128-130
A retrospective analysis was made on clinical data of 230 cases of metabolic syndrome (MS) and 239 cases of non-MS admitted to department of cardiology and endocrinology of Huashan Hospital from July 2005 to August 2009.Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to assess the association between levels of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and potential influencing factors.Covariance analysis was used for group comparison.Multiple linear regression analysis demonstrated that age, body mass index, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, insulin resistance index, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol,creatine,left atrial diameter, left ventricular posterior wall dimensions, left ventricular ejection fraction were independent predictors for plasma levels of NT-proBNP in those subjects(P < 0.05).Covariance analysis showed that plasma levels of NT-proBNP in MS group were significantly lower than those in non-MS group ( P < 0.05).Further analysis found that plasma levels of NT-proBNP in MS patients with high triglyceride and body mass index, but normal systolic and diastolic blood pressure, normal fasting plasma glucose were significantly lower than those in non-MS group ( P < 0.05 ).The results indicate that decreased plasma levels of NT-proBNP might be related to lipids disorder and obesity of MS patients.

Objective To report experience of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) with Endurant stent-graft for abdominal aortic aneyrysm. Methods Between May,2010 and May,2011,19 patients underwent EVAR with Endurant stent-graft at Department of Vascular Surgery,Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Clinical and morphological characteristics, operative result, peri-operative complications and follow-up data were reported. Results Procedures were successful in all these 19 cases, among those 9 were with complicated anatomical alterations. There were no type Ⅰ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ endoleak found immediately after procedure, while 4 cases were found with type Ⅱ endoleak. Major adverse event during the 30-days after operation included:consumption coagulopathy, myocardial infarction combined with heart failure, wound infection or hematoma. All cases were followed-up from 1 to 12 months. No death occurred.Eight cases had at least one CT angiography.Five cases showed aneurysm shrink, the remaining 3 cases showed aneurysm diameter did not change. One case suffered from occlusion of unilateral iliac limb artery obliteration, and was treated by fem-fem graft bypass. One case had secondary type Ⅰ B endoleak, without increase of aneurysm diameter. Conclusions EVAR with Endurant stent-graft is safe and effective. Some complicated anatomic cases could be treated successfully with Endurant stent-graft.

Objective To explore the effect of ParidissaponinⅠ (PSⅠ) on the proliferation of coronary artery endothelial cells (CAECs).Methods CAECs were cultured with PSⅠ.CAEC growth rate was calculated by using blood cell counting plate.Cell viability was measured by MTT.The expressions of cadherin and caspase3 mRNA were detected by RT-PCR.Results PSⅠ slowed down growth rate of CAECs,reduced cell viability of CAECs,decreased the expression of cadherin mRNA and increased the expression of caspase3 mRNA in CAECs.Conclusion PSⅠ inhibits the proliferation of CAECs and induces CAECs apoptosis.

Objective To investigate the adjustment methods and evaluation for children after cochlear implantation. Methods 6 children after artificial cochlear implantation were debugged by subjective psychological physical test, objective methods such as electricity induced composite action potential (ECAP), electrically evoked stapedius reflex threshold (ESRT) and electrically evoked auditory brainstem response (EABR). Results All the children got satisfied data. Conclusion For the children after cochlear implantation, objective methods such as ECAP, ESRT, EABR combined with subjective psychological physical test all together are helpful to obtain accurate threshold.

Objective To evaluate the result of revascularization for lower limb artery ischemia in elder patients. Method During Jan 2006 to Nov 2008, 262 elder patients (60 years old and up), underwent artery revascularization for lower limb arterial ischemia. Mortality, morbidity, primary patency, secondary patency and limb salvage were analyzed. Result There were a total of 323 ischemia limbs in those 262 elder patients undergoing revascalarization, among those 102 limbs underwent artery bypass, 98 limbs underwent endoluminal angioplasty with or without stenting, 67 limbs underwent embolectomy or endarterectomy, 56 limbs underwent open surgery combined with endoluminal treatment due to multiple segment lesions. Operation success rate was 94.7%. Two patients died within 30 days. Perioperative morbidity developed in 15 cases. 245 patients (93.5%) were followed-up from 1 month to 35 months. Mortality was 6.1% (15 cases), primary patency was 80.5%, secondary patency was 92.7% and limb salvage rate was 95.2%. Risk factors analysis showed that history of cardiac disease and elder ages were associated with higher mortality. Diabetes mellitus, critical ischemia and multiple segment lesions were associated with poor long term patency and limb salvage. Conclusion Lower limb ischemia is severe disease related to elder patients' death and amputation. Careful patient selection, detailed pre-operation work-up, meticulous operative technique play crucial roles for a successful arterial reconstruction.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of chromomycin A(2) in inducing apoptosis of HepG2 cells and explore the molecular mechanism.
METHODSHepG2, MCF-7, A549, and 7901 cells were exposed to chromomycin A(2) and the changes in the cell viability were detected using MTT assay. The changes in the chromatins were observed with laser scanning confocal microscope after incubation of the cells with chromomycin A(2) (60 nmol/L) for 24 h. The changes in cell morphology were examined with a phase-contrast microscope, and the apoptotic cell populations, fluorescent intensity of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial membrane potential were determined using flow cytometry.
RESULTSChromomycin A(2) significantly inhibited the proliferation of the cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner, and caused changes in the cell morphology and cell apoptosis. Exposure of the cells to chromomycin A(2) resulted in chromatin condensation, ROS generation, and reduction of the mitochondrial membrane potential.
CONCLUSIONIncreased ROS and mitochondria damage may importantly contribute to chromomycin A(2)-induced apoptosis in HepG2 cells.
