Objective To study the effect of purified water on the neurobehavioral development of the offspring and the synergistic effect of the magnesium deficiency in food. Methods SD rats were divided into four groups, control food plus control water (control group),control food plus purified water, magnesium deficiency food plus control water, magnesium deficiency plus purified water, from five weeks of age of the F0 generation to five weeks of the F1 generation respectively. Morris water maze (MWM) was used to test the spatial learning and memory ability of offspring of rats. Results In the early training days of the place navigation, control group offspring of rats showed a shorter swimming time than the other groups. There were no significant differences among all experimental groups in the later training days of the place navigation, spatial probe test and visible platform trial, however the tendency was still to remain. Conclusion Purified water can damage the learning ability of offspring of rats and the learning ability delay will be more obviously when magnesium is deficient in food.

With the aggravation of enviromental pollution, a quickly, sensitive, inexpensive monitoring means should be developed to protect water resources. Luminescent bacteria as biosensor have the advantages mentioned above. During past two decades, luminescent bacteria toxicity test was used widely in comprehensive toxicity evaluation, screening, monitoring and specific pollutants detection in water, the recent progress in this field was reviewed in this paper.

Objective:To assess the prevalence of depressive symptoms in type 2 diabetic patients with hypertension. Methods:A systematic electronic search was conducted in CNKI,Wanfang database,SinoMed,Pubmed and Embase.Literatures that reported the depressive symptoms status of type 2 diabetic patients with hypertension were included. All patients were divided into case group and control group, according to with or without hypertension.Meta-analysis was performed with Statal2.0 software after data extraction and the quality of studies assessment. Results:A total of 11 articles involving 8031 type 2 diabetic patients were included in the meta-analysis,including 4711 patients in case group and 3320 patients in control group. The pooled prevalence of depressive symptoms in case group was 43.5% (95% CI:26.1%-60.8%).The pooled prevalence of depressive symptoms in control group was 34.0% (95% CI:19.6%-48.5%).The pooled odds ratio was 1.32 (95% CI:1.05-1.67,P <0.05).Conclusion:Hypertension increases the risk of developing depressive symptoms in type 2 diabetic patients. Therefore, medical staff should pay more attention to the mental health of this population.

To evaluate the status of diabetes-related knowledge and training requirement among general physicians,a questionnaire survey was conducted in 676 general physicians from 32 primary medical institutions and 5 secondary hospitals of Shanghai Pudong New Area.48.2% (261/541) of the surveyees had bachelor degree and most of them worked in secondary hospitals or primary medical institutions in affluent areas. The awareness rate of diabetic knowledge among the surveyeos was 51.6%,and there were significant differences in the awareness rate of diabetes-related knowledge between different levels of hospitals and physicians with different academic background.Only 26.6% of physicians received diabetes-related continuing education or training, there was a popular request for professional training from the surveyed physicians.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the curative effect and safety of reduced glutathione for injection(Atomolan) on the Alcoholic Liver Disease(ALD).METHODS:This was a randomized, placebo controlled study,in which the reduced glutathione for injection(Gluthion) was used as control substance.A total of 261 ALD patients were randomly divided into 2 groups in 1:1 ratio(trial group,n=135;control group,n=126).The dosage, route and course of treatment in two groups were the same.Clinical data including biochemical parameters, symptoms and signs in two groups were monitored.RESULTS:The excellent effective rate, effect rate and total effective rate in the trial group were 58.5%,23.7% and 82.2%,respectively,those in the control group were 57.9%,22.2% and 80.2%,respectively,showing no significant difference between the 2 groups(P=0.90).CONC-LUSION:The study showed that the domestic glutathione for injection had a sound efficacy in improving clinical symptoms and recovery of liver biochemical parameters, showing equivalent efficacy to the control preparation good safety.

Objective To study the influence of survivin targetedly inhibited with antisense oligonucleotide (ASODN)technique on the apoptosis of hepatoma carcinoma cells SMMC-7221,and to clarify the mechanism of promotion effect of survivin-ASODN on the apoptosis of SMMC-7721 cells. Methods The ASODN sequence of survivin marked by FAM fluorescein was designed and synthized. The SMMC-7721 cells were transfected by different concentrations (100,200,300,400,and 600 nmol· L-1 )of survivin-ASODN (ASODN transfection groups),at the same time blank control group and blank liposome control group and sense oligonucleotide (SODN) control group were set up.The apoptotic rates and the changes of cell cycle of the SMMC-7721 cells 24,48,and 72 h after transfected with different concentrations of survivin-ASODN were detected by FCM. The expression levels of survivin were measured by Western blotting method. Results Compared with each control group,24 h after transfection, the apoptotic rates of survivin-ASODN transfected SMMC-7221 cells were increased, the growth of cells was inhibited (P<0.05),and the effects had time-dose dependent tendency.48 h after transfection, the hypodiploid apoptotic peak appeared in ASODN transfection groups before G1 phase, the number of the cells at G0/G1 phase was decreased (P<0.05)and the number of the cells at G2/M phase wsa increased (P<0.05). Compared with each control group, the survivin expression levels in the SMMC-7721 cells in ASODN transfection groups were decreased (P<0.05 ), and the effects of survivin-ASODN was time-dose dependent (P<0.05 ). Conclusion Survivin-ASODN can block the expression of survivin in SMMC-7721 cells and inhibit the proliferation of SMMC-7721 cells by changing the cell cycle and increasing apoptosis in a time-dose dependent manner.

Objective:
To discuss the potential toxic target organ and the toxic effects and mechanisms of tris (2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) on SD rats.
Methods:
40 female SD rats weaning from milk for 21 days, weighted (50±2.3)g were selected as subjects and marked by the weight. They were randomly divided into 4 groups, namely control group, 50 (L), 100 (M) and 250 (H) mg·kg-1·d-1 dose of TCEP group. Each group has 10 rats, and administrated the corresponding dose of drug or vehicle by mouth, quaque die for 60 days. All rats were sacrificed after the last administration. The livers and kidneys were dyed by HE for pathological observation; and the blood samples were collected to analyze the biochemical index. H1-Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H-NMR)-based metabolomics methods coupling with histopathogy examination were used to investigate the toxic effects of TCEP.
Results:
Inflammatory cell infiltration and hepatic necrosis were observed in the liver of TCEP-treated rats. Inflammatory cells invaded and calcification/ossification foci were also found in renal of TCEP-treated rats and tumor hyperplasia were existed in renal tubule in H group. The level of HDL-C in the L, M and H group were separately (1.7±0.09) , (1.5±0.07) and (1.3±0.1) µmol/L, which were all significantly lower than that of control group ( (1.9±0.2) µmol/L) (
