To clarify the difference between benign and malignant tumours of tongue on the PC-NA expression and AgNOR c0unts. Methods: Immunohistochemical and AgNOR stainings were carriedout to detect the PCNA expressi0n and to count AgNOR particles in 14 cases of papillomas and 36 cases ofsquamous cell carcinomas of tongue. Results: The positive index(PI) of PCNA was 7. 15 ? 1. 32 in papillo-mas and 24. 28? 2. 47 in squamous cell carcinomas, and there was a significant difference between them. Asignificant difference between low 19. 45? 15. 88, medium 22. 5 ?18. 79 and high grade carcin0mas 65. 3 ?17. 39 was also observed. The AgNOR counts were higher in squamous cell carcinomas 4. 76 ?1. 59 than inpapillomas 2. 16 ? 0. 33. There was no difference of AgNOR counts in high, medium and low grade ofsquamous cell carcinomas. Conclusion:The PCNA expression and AgNOR counts may be related to activi-ty of cell proliferation and be helpful for differentiating benign from malignant tumours of tongue. In addi-tion, the former may be helpful for grading malignancy.

Male Sprague~Dawley rats were pretreated with phenobarbital and randomly divided into 6 groups and were exposed to O2,/N2/l. 2 MAC anesthetics for I hr; NC, 21 % O2/79% N2; HC, 14 %O2,/86%N2; NH, 21 %O2/79% N2/l. 2 MAC halothane;HH, 14 %O2/86 %N2/ 1. 2 MAC Halothane; NS, 21 %O2/79%N2/ 1. 2 MAC sevoflurane; HS, 14 %O2/86 %N2/ 1. 2 MAC sevoflurnae. Liver specimens andblood were taken 24 hrs after exposure. Thenecrosls and denaturatlon of hepatocellularwere quantltatlvely estlmated by stereoscopy.Ultrastructural morphology was analysed by computer. The liver ofall rats given halothane (14%O2) had extensive centrilobu- lar necrosls and denaltlration. There were an increase in serum glutamic pyruvic transmi- nase accompnaying the morphologic damage。No marked hepatotoxicity was foundin the rats following sevoflurane expoure compared with controls. Hypoxia was the main cause of swelling of mltochondria. Results suggest that sevoflurane has less hepattc injtry than holotnane.

Objective To explore the impact of partial or complete rupture of the tibiofibular syndesmosis on the biomechanical properties of the ankle joint.Methods Six fresh cadaveric specimens of adult ankle were used for creation of 3 models of tibiofibular syndesmosis.In model A,the medial and lateral ligaments of the ankle joint and the tibiofihular syndesmosis were intact.In model B,only the anterior lower tibiofibular ligament was broken.In model C,all inferior tibiofibular ligaments were broken.The 3 models were tested with an electronic pressure sensor in a BOSE material testing machine respectively at 5 positions:10° dorsal extension,20° inversion,20° eversion,20° plantar flexion,and neutral position.The peak values and locations of the compressive stresses of the 3 models at 5 positions were recorded.All the data were collected and analyzed using IBM SPSS 22.0 statistical software.Results Model A exhibited the smallest average stress at all the 5 positions,followed by model B and model C,with significant differences between groups (P ＜ 0.05).The locations of main compressive stress at the neutral position,10° dorsal extension,and 20° plantar flexion in model B and model C tended to expand outwards compared with model A,especially in model C.Conclusions Rupture of the anterior lower tibiofibular ligament and inferior tibiofibular ligaments may increase the compressive stress on the ankle joint,especially rupture of the inferior tibiofibular ligaments.The location of main compressive stress tends to expand outwards when the anterior lower tibiofibular ligament and inferior tibiofihular ligaments are broken,especially the inferior tibiofibular ligaments.

Objective To study the value and clinical significance of diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)in differentiating high-grade astrocytomas and solitary metastatic tumors of brain.Methods 16 patients with intracranial solitary metastasis and 25 patients with high-grade astrocytoma confirmed pathologically were examined with MR DTI.Mean diffusivity(MD)and fractional anisotropy(FA)were measured in the regions of interest(ROI)of peritumor and cerebral parenchyma of the normal side on DTL Fiber tractography was reconstructed and the encountered patterns of tumor-related alteration to cerebral white matter were observed.Results The peritumor were all depicted as hyperintense or isointense signals on DTI.The FA values were 0.227±0.05 and 0.169±0.07 in the peritumor of high-grade astrocytoma and metastasis respectively,which was of significant difference(P＜0.05).Furthermore,fiber tractography could display the course of white matter tracts in three-dimensional space.Conclusion DTI may be help to differential diagnosis of solitary metastasis and high-grade astrocytoma in clinical practice.

Objective To investigate the mechanism of recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH) in articular cartilage defect repair in vivo.Methods The cylindrical,full-thick articular cartilage defects,(3.5 mm) in diameter,were made in the knee joints of 25 rabbits.rhGH of 0.1 U/kg was injected into the right knee joints 3 times a week for 4 weeks and equal volume of physiological saline to the left knee joints as control.The animals were killed respectively in 4,6,8,12,24 weeks,and the macroscopic,histologic and ultrastractural examinations were performed.Results The repairing process in experimental group was faster and better than that in the control.In the experimental groups,the defect was filled on week 4,the regenerated cartilage mainly in the shallow region and fibrous tissue in the deep region;on week 24,the regenerated tissue was morphologically close to the neighbour normal cartilage,hard to differentiate by macroscopy;Light microscopy showed the defect recovered to normal cartilage structure and the electron microscopy showed a large quantity of mature cartilage cells.In the control groups,the defect was of shallow introcession,mainly of fibrous tissue.The histological examination showed the significant difference between experimental and control groups(P

This study was designed to investigate the relationship between the hepatotoxicity of Halothane and altered hepatic calcium homeostasis in enzyme-induced hypoxic rats by means of Ca2+ cytochemistry location and EDX microanalysis combined with micropathological stereology of liver and ultrastructural analysis by computer. The results showed that more calcium precipitated the cytoplasm and mitochondria of liver following Halothane exposure than the controls. Based on the experiments, this alteration appeared to be contributed to the accelerated uptake of Ca2+ by the hepatocytes and lessened to pump out the decreased loaded Ca2+ on the other hand. The release of the reserved Ca2+ was increased by Halothane as compared with controls. These results suggest that a loss of regulation of cellular Ca2+ levels plays an important role in the mechanism of hepatotoxicity by Halothane exposure.

AIM:To investigate the relationship of clinical efficacy,blood trough concentration and adverse reavtion,which in the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection with Vancomycin.METHODS:The clinical data of 82 hospital patients who were infected by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and treated with Vancomycin from January 2008 to October 2009 were retrospectively analyzed the clinic efficacy,bacteriological treatment,adverse reaction were observed,and the blook trough concentration was detected.RESULTS:The treatment effective rate of Vancomycin-blood trough concentration which was less than 5 ?g/mL,in the range of 5-10 ?g/mL,and greater than 10 ?g/mL were 68.75%,72.73% and 81.82%.The bacterial clearance rates were 62.50%,68.18% and 72.73%.One case of blood trough concentration of 14.6 ?g/mL in patients with renal toxicity.CONCLUSION:Increasing the blood trough concentration of Vancomycin can improve the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection in the efficacy and bacterial eradication rates,but the probability of renal toxicity adverse reactions will also increase accordingly.

Objective:To evaluate the precise guidance of intraoperative ultrasound for closed reduction and fixation with intramedullary titanium elastic nail (TEN) in the treatment of clavicle fractures.Methods:The data of 40 patients with fresh clavicle fracture were retrospectively analyzed who had undergone closed reduction and TEN fixation under precise guidance of intraoperative ultrasound at Department of Emergency Trauma, Shandong Wendeng Osteopathic Hospital from January 2017 to March 2019. They were 25 males and 15 females, aged from 25 to 68 years (average, 52.1 years), with 27 cases on the left side and 13 on the right. Reduction and fixation of the fracture was monitored during operation to avoid iatrogenic injuries to the subclavian brachial plexus nerve, subclavian artery and vein and thoracic cavity. The Neer scoring was used at the last follow-up to assess shoulder joint function and complications were recorded.Results:Closed reduction and TEN fixation was completed uneventfully in all the 40 patients under precise guidance of intraoperative ultrasound. The operation time ranged from 20 to 56 min, averaging 36 min; the blood loss from 10 to 35 mL, averaging 22 mL. No injury occurred to the subclavian brachial plexus, subclavian artery or vein, or thoracic cavity. The 40 patients were followed up for 4 to 6 months (average, 4.8 months). All fractures achieved bony union, with no displacement or breakage of internal fixation, or fracture malunion. At the last follow-up, the shoulder joint function was good, with Neer scores ranging from 85 to 95 points (average, 93.1 points).Conclusion:The precise guidance of intraoperative ultrasound improves surgical accuracy and safety, making the closed reduction and TEN fixation a safe and minimally invasive treatment for clavicle fractures.

BACKGROUND:Simple pedicle screw fixation for thoracolumbar fractures has better outcomes, but there are some deficiencies, such as poor applicability for severe compression or burst fractures, strong vertebral pain, easy to cause vertebral wound denervation and paraspinal muscle injury, and slow recovery. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical effects of pedicle screw fixation combined with artificial bone graft for the treatment of thoracolumbar fractures. METHODS:A total of 126 patients with thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures, who had undergone pedicle screw fixation without bone graft (control group,n=62) and with bone graft (test group,n=64) were enroled. The fracture healing, anterior vertebral height ratio, sagittal Cobb angle, and loss rate of vertebral height after 6 months were observed by X-ray in the two groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al patients were folowed up, and had complete fracture healing after 12-16 months. The anterior vertebral height and Cobb angle were both improved in the two groups at 1 week after operation (P < 0.01), but there was no difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). New bone formation was observed in the test group at 6 months after operation, and patients were pain-free; but the speed of bone formation was slower in the control group, and patients stil suffered from painful thoracolumbar fractures. There was no difference in the loss of anterior vertebral height and Cobb angle between the two groups (P> 0.05). These findings indicate that pedicle screw fixation combined with artificial bone graft lead to a better recovery in thoracolumbar fractures.

Objective To investigate the effect of Shanzha Xiaozhi capslue on intima-media thickness(IMT) and plaques score of carotid artery in patients with non-acute phase coronary heart disease and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome of phlegm and blood stasis. Methods A prospective study was conducted to carry out a research on 102 patients with non-acute phase coronary heart disease and TCM syndrome of phlegm and blood stasis. They were randomly divided into two groups:a control group(50 cases)treated with conventional western medicine alone and a observation group(52 cases)which was treated by both conventional western medicine and Shanzha Xiaozhi capslue(the main TCM ingredients:Shanzha,Dahuang)0.7 g,3 times a day,the therapeutic course being 6 months in both groups. The cardiocerebral vascular incidences of the two groups were observed,in the mean time,the carotid artery IMT and plagues score were registered,the scores of phlegm stagnation syndrome and blood-stasis syndrome were measured,adverse reaction was observed and compared in both groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment,the occurrence of major adverse acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in observation group were reduced significantly compared with those in the control group(5.77%vs. 20.00%,P<0.05). The IMT and plaques score of carotid artery and the scores of phlegm stagnation syndrome and blood-stasis syndrome were all decreased obviously compared to those before treatment,and the effect was more remarkable in the treatment group〔IMT of carotid artery(mm):0.80±0.13 vs. 0.95±0.12,the plaques score:1.35±0.65 vs. 1.75±0.88, phlegm syndrome score:20.98±6.42 vs. 35.55±9.22,blood-stasis syndrome score:23.23±5.12 vs. 28.95±6.38, P<0.05 or P<0.01〕. Abdominal pain appeared in 2 patients of observation group without other adverse reactions. Conclusion Shanzha Xiaozhi capsule can stabilize atherosclerotic plaque and reduce the occurrence of acute adverse cardiocerebral vascular events in patients with non-acute phase coronary heart disease and phlegm and blood stasis syndrome possibly by removing phlegm and blood stasis to decrease the IMT and plaques score of carotid artery.
