80 patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided into 2 groups(n =40)and treated by ultrasonic sub-gingival sealing (ultrasonic group)and hand instrumentation(hand group)respectively.4 and 12 weeks after treatment,plaque index(PLI),gingival blee-ding index(GBI),probing pocket depth(PD)and clinical attachment level(CAL)of both groups decreased(P <0.05),PLI in ultrasonic group was lower than that in hand group.There was no significant difference of other periodontal indexes between the two groups(P >0.05).

OBJECTIVE：To study the anti-asthmatic effects of artesunate on the durg-induced asthmat.METHOD:Drug-induced asthmatic model of guinea-pig. RESULTS:Using nubilous inhalation or intragastric administration,artesunate significantly inhibited the guinea-pig model asthma in a dose-dependent manner.It's ED50 were (99.95±7.69)mg.L-1(n=4) and (15.64±1.25)mg.kg-1.d-1(n=4) respectively. CONCLUSION:artesunate showed anti-athmatic effect in guinea-pig asthmatic model.

[Objective]To evaluate the interface biomechanical characteristics of a new kind of hydroxyapatite coating.[Method] Ten dogs underwent hermiarthroplasty of hip joint and were divided into 2 groups.One group was placed in Ti-6AI-4V femoral stem(Ti hip group),the second group was placed in HA-coated femoral stem(HA hip group).The second method was rod implant in condyles in both legs of each dog.Four matured dogs were selected.Eight Ti-6AI-4V rods(Ti rod group)were placed in lateral and medial condyle in left leg of each dog and eight HA-coated rods(HA rod group)were implanted in that of right leg of each dog.The dogs were sacrificed at 12 weeks after operation,and then the interface shear strength and imerface histological changes were evaluated.[Result]The Pust-out test showed that the average interface shear strengths of Ti hip group and HA hip group were(2.58?1.56)Mpa and(7.57?1.03)Mpa respectively.The interface shear strengths of HA hip group was significantly higher than that of Ti hip group(P

Objective [WT5”BZ]To improve recognition and differential diagnosis of splenic space occupying disease.[WT5”HZ]Method [WT5”BZ]40 cases admitted from 1983 to 1999 were analyzed retrospectively。[WT5”HZ]Result [WT5”BZ]Twenty six out of 40 cases were of benign splenic disease including one case of cyst, 3 cases of splenic abscesses, 7 cases of splenic tuberculosis, 5 cases of splenic “true” cyst, 4 cases of splenic angiolymphoma, 3 cases of splenic aneurysm, and one each of splenic lymphoangioma, epidermoid cyst and hamartoma. Objective To evaluate the biologic characteristics of a new type femoral stems either coated with gradient hydroxyapatite (HA) or additionally loaded with rhBMP-2. Methods Fifteen dogs were divided into 3 groups according to the implanted hip prosthesis. Each animal received hemiarthroplasty in the right hip with prosthesis made of pure Ti-6Al-4V femoral stem (Ti group), the new gradient HA-coated femoral stem (HA group) with 100 to 150 ?m hydroxyapatite coating, and the new gradient HA-coated femoral stem loaded with rhBMP-2 of 9 mg (BMP-HA group) respectively. The dogs were sacrificed at 12 weeks after operation, and labeled with tetracycline 3 of 30 mg/kg days prior to sacrifice, and then the histological changes of the tissue surrounding the prosthesis were evaluated. The radiographic examinations were taken before and after sacrifice. Results On radiographic examination, local radiolucent line around the prosthesis was observed only in one specimen in Ti group. The new bone formation was found both in HA group and BMP-HA group more obviously than in Ti group. Under microscopy, it was noted that this new gradient HA-coating was intact and no obvious biodegradation in most section, whereas a fibrous membrane was found in Ti group. The average rates of interface osteointergration in Ti group, HA group and BMP-HA group were 4.05%?7.66%, 71.04%?9.81% and 88.86%?6.56%, respectively, those of HA and BMP-HA group were significantly higher than that of Ti group (P

To study the stability of fal emulsion in all types of AU-in-One nutrient admixtures prepared from on morket fat emnlsions and new MCT/LCTs. Admixtures were prepared from domestic fat emulstions and MCT/LCTs separately with amino acids,dextrose,vitamins, electrolyltes and trace elements. They were stored for one day at 25℃ followed by one day at 25℃ and eight days at 4℃. Admixtures of control group were prepared with fat emulsions and MCT/LCTs of other manufacturers and stored under the same conditions. Particle size and distribution, mass percentage of larger particles to theroretical total iol volume were measured by using light seattering spectrophotometer and coulter multisizer accucomp. Osmolality and pH of the samples were also measured. Stability of the all-in-one admixtures was monitored. The results showe that, compare with the control products, the particle size and distribution of domestic fat emulsions and MCT/LCTs, pH and osmolality of the admixtures remained stable during observation.

Objective To evaluate the value of the tests of mean corpuscular volume (MCV ) ,mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) in the screening of thalassemia .Methods 603 cases were performed MCV and MCH tests and gene detection of thalasse-mia .The results of gene detection were used as reference standard .The sensitivity ,specificity ,accuracy ,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of single or combined results of MCV ,MCH tests were calculated .Results The sensitivity and specificity of single MCV test were 91 .2% and 76 .1% ,single MCH test were 91 .2% and 70 .7% .The sensitivity and specificity of parallel combined tests of MCV and MCH were 94 .8% and 61 .4% ,serial combined tests of MCV and MCH were 88 .4% and 75 .6% .Con-clusion The sensitivity of single MCV or MCH test in the screening of thalassemia is high .Parallel combined tests of MCV and MCH can improve the sensitivity ,and will be widely used in the in the screening of thalassemia .

Objective To determine the contents of Poloxamer in contact lens care solution by spectrophotometric method,and investigate the effect of the other lubrication composition on the measurement. Methods Five brands of contact lens care solution with hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose(HPMC)were obtained.The interference of HPMC in contact lens care solution was removed by heating and rapid filtering,and the contents of Poloxamer was determined by KI-I_2 spectrophotometry. Results For the pre-treated contact lens care solution,the tested wavelength was 500 nm and the development time was 120 min.Favourable linearity was observed when Poloxamer ranged between 0.001 mg/mL and 0.020 mg/mL,with standard curve of Y=0.050 91X+0.017 15 and r~2=0.998 2.Precision(n=6)test revealed that RSD was 1.331 4%,and RSD of daytime repeatability experiment was 2.971 3%.The recovery rates of 80%,100%and 120% samples ranged between 90%to 105%. Conclusion KI-I_2 spectrophotometry is a convenient,stable and reliable method,and may sere as a mass control method for nonionic surfactant Poloxamer content in contact lens care solution.

Objective To review the characteristics and outcomes of primary total hip replacement(pTHR) in patients with ankylosing spondylitis(AS). Methods Eighteen patients (26 hips) with AS underwent pTHR from January 1991 to September 2003 were reviewed retrospectively. Sixteen patients (24 hips) were followed-up. The mean duration of follow-up was 85 months (ranging from 23 to 169 months). All patients were evaluated using Harris score standardization. Results There were 15 hips with hip ankylosis( 57.7%). The average time of the operation was 167.4 minutes (ranging from 90 to 350 minutes),the average volume of bleeding in the operation was 773.9 ml (ranging from 300 to 2000 ml),the postoperative average drainage was 488.6 ml(ranging from 50 to 1130 ml). The rate of excellent and good was 87.5 percent. Conclusion The pTHR is a very effective treatment for patients with AS. The perfect rehabilitation care is one of the main factors influencing the outcomes of pTHR for patients with AS.
