1.The Clinical Observation on the Treatment of Stroke Sequela by Traditional Chinese Syndrome Differentiation

To study the clinical effect of treating the sequela of wind stroke by the traditional Chinese medicine integrated with western medicine. 80 patients were randomly recruited into a treatment group (50 cases) and a control group (30 cases). In the control group, conventional western medicines were applied, while in the treatment group traditional Chinese medicine based on syndrome differentiation was applied on the basis of the control group. The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 73.58% and 54.6% respectively, demonstrating a statistically difference (X2= 6.66, P<0.01).
2.Study of Neuropathways of Acupuncture Effect on Functional Regulation and Disease Treatment

Objective: To reveal the neuropathways of acupuncture effect on regulation of autonomic functions, treatment of diseases and the relationship between treating acupoint and certain target tissue or organ. Methods: it is reviewed for the authors' studies of characteristics of afferent nerve response, somato-sympathetic reflex (one of the somato-autonomic reflexes) and glutamate derived central modulation, target tissue and organ responses to somatic stimulation of acupuncture or electrical shock in rats and mice. Results and Conclusion: An electrical discharge from the nerve afferent serving Zusanli (ST 36) was recorded by applying manual acupuncture or electroacupuncture to Zusanli (ST 36). Such process could be replaced by applying electric shock directly to the afferent nerve assumingly. Somatic electrical stimulation of the afferent nerve e.g. tibia nerve can reflexively elicit an electrical discharge from autonomic efferent nerve e.g. sympathetic nerve that is defined as somato-sympathetic reflex. The reflex can be modulated by an excitatory neurotransmitter of glutamate in the central pathways. On the other hand, somatic stimulation of Zusanli (ST 36), etc. by electroacupuncture showed that them were inhibitory modulation of somatic sensory input from target tissue of the inflammatory pain in the hind paw of the mouse and visceral sensory input from target organ of the colorectum hyperagesia in the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) rat. Spinal GABA and NMDA receptors were proved to be involved in the former and latter processes, respectively.

4.Effects of electroacupuncture on disorder of intestinal motility in a rat model of irritable bowel syndrome.

Objective:To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on intestinal motility disorder in rats with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in order to provide experimental evidence for improving clinical treatment to IBS with EA. Methods: IBS was induced by inserting a balloon into the rectum of male Sprague-Dawley rats from their neonatal age (8th, 21st day after birth) and applying colorectal distention stimulation by inflating air into the balloon. Peristaltic wave (PW) was used to estimate intestinal motility. Rats were divided into 4 groups (n=6): normal group, untreated group, sham EA group and EA group. Acupoints of Zusanli (ST36) and Shangjuxu (ST37) in the hind limbs bilaterally were chosen for EA and sham EA treatment. Trains of dense-sparse frequencies (100 Hz and 2 Hz alternately) and intensity of 1, 2 and 3 mA (10 min for each) were applied for 30 min with each EA treatment while inserting similar needles without electrical stimulation was done as sham EA treatment. PW recorded for 30 min in normal and untreated groups respectively was taken as control values, while PW recorded after EA or sham EA treatment for 30 min was taken as responsive values. Results: Frequency of PW was significantly increased in the untreated group as compared with that in the normal group (P<0.05), and decreased after 30-min EA treatment (P<0.05). There was no significant change in the PW of sham EA group as compared with the control group and before treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that 1) there is an abnormal increase in intestinal motility indicating an intestinal motility disorder in IBS rats; 2) EA but not sham EA can relieve such intestinal motility disorder.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world.According to the statistic data of Ministry of Public Health of China in 1995, the annual mortality of HCC was 20.4 per 0.1 million, and had the rise tendency. Surgery is commonly the main modality of HCC combined therapy. The high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), as a noninvasive therapy, with the mechanism of transient high temperatures, cavitation and mechanical effects, has been recognized. This review aimes to elucidate the immune changes in HCC after HIFU exposures and the mechanism.

8.Influence of dexmedetomidine on median effective target effect-site concentration of sufentanilinhibiting urethroscope insertion response hn patients undergoing transurethral resection of prostate

[Objective] To evaluate the influence of dexmedetomidine on median effective target effect-site concentration(EC50)of sufentanil-inhibiting urethroscope insertion response in patients undergoing transurethral resection of prostate(TURP).[Methods] Forty patients with ASA grading Ⅰ-Ⅱ who accepted selective TURP were divided by random digits table method into two groups with 20 cases each.The patients in dexmedetomidine group were treated with 0.6 μ g/kg dexmedetomidine intravenous infusion for more than 10 min,while control group were treated with equivalent capacity of 0.9% sodium chloride.At 5 min after stopping injection,target-controlled infusion of propofol was started and the plasma target concentration was 3.0 μ g/ml.At 10 min after infusion,target-controlled infusion of sufentanil began and the plasma target concentration was 0.20 ng/ml.The target concentration of sufentanil of the next patient accorded to the patient with or without the urethroscope insertion response and the adjacent rate of the target concentration was 1.1.The EC50 and 95% confidence interval(CI)of sufentanil were calculated.[Results] There were 20 cases in dexmedetomidine group ultimately selected and 19 cases in control group.There was no statistical significance in absolute value of ST segment of intraoperative electrocardiogram,systolic blood pressure,heart rate,pulse oxygen saturation and bispecual index between two groups(P>0.05).EC5o of sufentanil-inhibiting urethroscope insertion response in dexmedetomidine group was 0.1148 ng/ml(95% CI 0.1055-0.1249 ng/ml),which was significantly lower than that in control group[0.1454 ng/ml(95% CI 0.1339-0.1580 ng/ml)](P<0.05).[Conclusions] 0.6 μg/kg dexmedetomidine intravenous infusion before operation can reduce the EC50 of sufentanil-inhibiting urethroscope insertion response in patients undergoing TURP.
9.Retrospective Study of the Efficacy of Acarbose Combined with Metformin in the Treatment of Type 2 Dia-betes Complicated with Hyperlipidemia

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of acarbose combined with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with hyper-lipidemia. Methods:A retrospective study was adopted. A total of 2000 patients with type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia from general practice in the center were enrolled, and among them, 1050 patients were treated with acarbose, and the other 950 ones were treated with acarbose combined with metformin. After 3-month treatment, the therapeutic effect and adverse drug reactions were compared be-tween the groups. The changes of blood glucose and blood lipid were observed before and after the treatment. Results:The total effec-tive rate was 94. 83% in the combined group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (72. 38%, P<0. 05). Af-ter the treatment, the blood glucose levels of both groups significantly decreased (P<0. 05), and the decrease in the combined group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0. 05). After the treatment, the serum lipid levels of both groups were signifi-cantly improved (P<0. 05), and the improvement in the combined group was much better than that in the control group (P<0. 05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of drug reactions between the groups (P>0. 05). Conclusion:Acar-bose combined with metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with hyperlipidemia can significantly improve blood glucose levels and blood lipid levels, and the clinical efficacy should be affirmed.
10.Values of Coronary Arteriongraphy in Diagnosing Angina

Objective To evaluate the value of coronary arteriongraphy(CAG)in diagnosing angina.Methods 219 patients with angina in clinical analysis were selected and divided into 2 groups:the stable angina(SA)group and unstable angina(UA)group.They all were accepted CAG first time.Then analysis were carried out between clinical diagnosis and results of CAG.Results The total positive rate of CAG in diagnosing angina is 58.90%.The positive rate of SA group(56.52%)shows no significant difference with that of UA group(60.00%).Single vessel lesion and multiple vessels lesion of SA group have little difference,however,the main coronary artery lesions of UA group is single vessel.Conclusions CAG is extremely important in diagnosing angina,but it has its own limit.Experience and new technique should be applied to retrieve locatization of CAG.
