AIM:To established a method for determining geniposide and baicalin in four preparations cantaining Fructus gardeniae and Radix Scutellariae by HPLC.METHODS:The separation was performed on Lichrospher C_ 18 column;using water-phosphoric acid(53∶0.2)and acetonitrile as a mobile phase,gradient elution.The detection wavelength was 240 nm.The flow rate was at 1.0 mL/min.The column temperature was at room temperature.RESULTS:The linear range of geniposide was in the range of 1.9-76 ?g/mL,r=0.999 9,the average recovery was 101.3%.The linear range of baicalin was 10.58-423 ?g/mL,r=0.999 9,the average recovery was 100.6%.CONCLUSION:This method is rapid,sensitive and accurate.It indicates that geniposide and bai-calin in traditional Chinese medicine preparations can be determinated simultaneously,and the method can be used for quality control.

Objective To observe the characteristics of acoustic parameter of mandarin vowels in patients with spastic dysarthria and to explore the optimal mandarin vowel sample for the evaluation of acoustic characteristics of spastic dysarthria patients.MethodsTwenty-two male and six female patients with the age range from 19 to 62 years were recruited to patient group from the department of hearing and speech, China Rehabilitation Research Center. Another 28 normal subjects with comparable characteristics were recruited to control group. Computerized Speech Lab MODEL 4500 was employed to sample and to analyze the characteristics of the acoustic parameter. The data of the two groups were compared to detect the difference between groups.ResultsNo significances were found both between groups and within group in the fundamental frequency when pronouncing all the selected vowels. Significant difference was noticed between groups in the variation of both frequency and amplitude. Within the patient group significant difference was only found in the variation of amplitude when pronouncing all the selected vowels. Between groups, a significant difference was found in HNR (harmonic to noise ratio) when pronouncing vowel ［a］, whereas no significance was noticed in ［i］ and ［u］. Significances were noticed within the patient group among the vowels.ConclusionThe patient demonstrated greater variations in frequency, amplitude and noise component compared to control group. The vowel ［a］ is an appropriate examination variable for mandarin in China.

Dysarthria is collective name for motor speech disorders resulting from disturbance in the speech control mechanism due to the damage to the central or peripheral nervous systems. The speech intelligibility (SI) and communication ability of dysarthric patient are affected, impacting quality of life. Evaluation of dysarthric speech involves subjective and objective measurement which contains electrolaryngoscope, glottograph, electropalatography, nasalance evaluation, acoustic analysis including sonogram，spectrogram, perturbation and noise measurements. Multi-Dimensional Voice Program (MDVP) is a commonly used quantitative acoustic analysis of dysarthric speech. However, in the mainland of China, it is applied in researches on voice of normal people and patients with laryngological diseases and researches on voice characteristics of patients with Parkinson disease or cerebral palsy. To date, no study on the acoustic analysis using MDVP for dysarthric patients with cerebrovascular disease or traumatic brain injury is reported.

Objective To find the reasonable treatment strategy by analyzing the failure pattern and survival rates of radical resection of gastric cancer.Methods Data were collected from 110 patients with radical resection and adjuvant treatment of gastric cancer,counted up the number of cases that failure in different ways.The survival rate after operation was calculated by Kaplan-Meier.The chi-square test was used to find the differences in survival rates between different differentiation,location and gender.Results 1,3,5-year survival rates of 110 cases were 83.64％ (92/110),46.36％ (51/110),35.45％ (39/110),respectively.Malignant ascites was the main failure type for postoperative of gastric cancer,approximately accounting for 41.51％ (22/53),abdominal lymph node metastasis accounting for 30.19％ (16/53),anastomotic recurrence accounting for 13.21％ (7/53),abdominal implantation and mesenteric metastasis accounting for 9.43％ (5/53),organ metastasis accounting for 5.66％ (3/53).The 5-year local failure rate of concurrent chemoradiotherapy group was a little lower than that in adjuvant chemotherapy alone group (15.00％ ∶22.22％).The 1-year survival rates of adjuvant chemotherapy alone and concurrent chemoradiotherapy group were 84.44％ and 80.00％ respectively,with no significant difference (x2 =0.236,P =0.627).However,the 3,5-year survival rates of the two groups were 66.67％ vs 40.00％ and 53.33％ vs 20.00％ respectively,with statistically significant differences (x2 =4.930,P =0.026 ; x2 =7.294,P =0.007).Conclusion Peritoneal metastasis is the most common failure pattern for the patients with gastric cancer who received radical operation and adjuvant treatment.The relapse rate of concurrent chemoradiotherapy group is lower than that in adjuvant chemotherapy alone group,but the overall survival rate is similar.

Objective To investigate the levels of aluminum in serum of people who long-term consumed the foods contained aluminum. Methods 1 500 people who like to enjoy the Chinese traditional foods in which aluminum often contained were investigated and the serum were collected for determination of aluminum, the other 1 500 people whose dietary habits were not the same as that of the former were chosen as the control. Results In the people who like to enjoy the Chinese traditional foods, the number of people who burdened a high level of aluminum in serum(572) was much larger than that of the control(40), and the time-effect relationship was found. Conclusion The aluminum contained foods should be controlled and restricted in China to prevent and reduce aluminum intake.

Aim To investigate the clinical importance of a newly designed tenodesis with polymolecular polyethlene fastener. Methods Eighty-nine patients with knee ligaments injuries were reconstructed with the technique of newly designed tenodesis. Rehabilitation program started under the instruction of the therapist from the next day of the surgery.Results The tenodesis on all patients in our study were successful. The fasteners in two patients and the transplants in three patients were blocked in the bone tunnel during the operation. One fastener was taken out from the bone tunnel under arthroscopy. The patients were followed up for 19 months averagely (from 6 months to 49 months), most of them showed a stable knee without complain, except two patients feel uncomfortable after vigorous activities; seven patients show little laxity in anterior drawer test (ADT) or posterior drawer test (PDT) and three patients had 20-degree limitation of knee flexion. Objective To study the chemical constituents of the petroleum and chloroform extracts of Galla Chinensis.Methods Using chromatography on silica gel column and thin-layer chromatography to isolate and purify the compounds;using spectroscopy methods to elucidate their structures;using double dilution to screen antibacterial activities on Fusarium oxysporum.Results Ten compounds were isolated and identified as 2-hydroxy-6-pentadecyl benzoic acid(Ⅰ),4-(pentadec-8-enyl) phenol(Ⅱ),plamitic acid-1,3-dipropyl ester(Ⅲ),?-sitosterol(Ⅳ),pentacosane(Ⅴ),4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzoic acid(Ⅵ),plamitic acid(Ⅶ),lauric acid(Ⅷ),myristic acid(Ⅸ),and gallic acid(Ⅹ).Conclusion Compounds Ⅰ-Ⅵ are obtained from Galla Chinensis for the first time.Compound Ⅰ shows moderate inhibitory activity on F.oxysporum.

Objective:To compare microcolumn gel Coombs test and test tube Coombs test for IgG anti-A and anti-B titre in serum of pregnant women with blood type O.The critical titre for IgG anti-A and anti-B should be established in domestic microcolumn gel Coombs' test.Methods:524 blood samples of pregnant women with blood type O,whose husbands were of blood type A or B,were detected simultaneously by domestic microcolumn gel Coombs' test and test tube Coombs test.The results were analyzed using paired "t " test,"?2 " test and regression analysis.Results:IgG anti-A mean titres determined by the two methods separately were 249.98 and 120.85,and IgG anti-B mean titre were 156.98 and 76.38.IgG anti-A and anti-B titration in domestic microcolumn gel Coombs'test showed significantly higher titres(mean 2.07 fold and mean 2.06 fold) than in test tube Coombs test in all samples studied(t=19.64,P

Objective To investigate the cytokine spectrum of cultured human amniotic-derived mesenchymal stem cells (A-MSC) for understanding its basis of molecular biology in hematopoietic in vitro.Methods Their hematopoietic cytokines expression was analyzed using RT-PCR in the mRNA level. Results It showed that in vitro subcultured human amniotic-derived mesenchymal stem cells were capable to express many important hematopoietic cytokines such as LIF, SCF, M-CSF, G-CSF, GM-CSF, IL-3, IL-6, IL-11 and so on. Conclusion Production of abundant of hematopoietic cytokines by human amniotic-derived mesenchymal stem cells may be effective for hematopoietic support and HSC transplantation.
