Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 2015;(3):337-340
Objective To explore the role of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α)and carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX)in oncogenesis and development of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD).Methods The expressions of HIF-αand CAIX were determined immunohistochemically by specific antibodies on formalin-fixed paraffin sections of normal pregnancy villi (32 cases),hydatidiform moles (33 cases),and invasive hydatidiform moles (26 cases). Results The positive rate of HIF-1α in normal pregnancy villi (NP),hydatidiform moles (HM)and invasive hydatidiform moles (IM) was 28.1% (9/32 ), 45.5% (1 5/33 ) and 73.1% (1 9/26 ), respectively. It was significantly higher in IM than in HM and NP(P <0.05),and there was no statistical difference between the latter two groups (P >0.05).The positive rate of CAIX in NP,HM and IM was 31.2 (10/32),3.0(1/33)and 57.7%(1 5/26),respectively.It was significantly higher in IM than in HM and NP (P < 0.05 ),and CAIX was almost negatively expressed in HM group, which differed significantly from that in NP group (P <0.05 ).There was no correlation between HIF-1αand CAIX expressions in IM (P >0.05).Conclusion The expressions of HIF-1αand CAIX were both higher in gestational trophoblastic neoplasia than in normal pregnancy and hydatidiform moles, which indicates that HIF-1αand CAIX may play a role in oncogenesis and development of malignant transformation of trophoblastic cells.
2.Current status and recent advances of lymph node micrometastase in patients with gastric cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2016;43(10):791-794
There is still a certain recurrence rate after extensive lymphadenectomy even to patients with node-negative gastric cancer. It promotes the researchers to use a more sensitive and effective way to track tumor cells which are missed, especially lymph node micrometastases. With the development of detection tech-nology,the diagnostic rate of micrometastasis is significantly increased. There are so many controversies about the impact of lymph node micrometastases that no consensus on the clinical treatment can be reached. In recent years, with the rise of endoscopic therapy, how to balance the relationship between the quality of life and the safety makes the research of micrometastases more urgent.
3.Antiplatelet use: secondary prevention for ischemic stroke with a history of intracranial hemorrhage
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2010;43(12):828-831
Objective To investigate the usage of antiplatelet drugs(APD)therapy in ischemic stroke with a history of intracranial hemorrhage(ICH)and impact of APD therapy in recurrences of the ICH and the ischemic stroke. Methods In a retrospective study, all survivors of ischemic stroke with ICH who visited our hospital previous to this study were followed by clinic visit or by telephone interview and recurrent ICH, ischemic stroke, and APD use were recorded. Kaplan-Meier plot and Logistic regression were used to assess the effect of APD on recurrent ICH and isclemic stroke. Results Recurrent ICH was more common in patients with lobar hemorrhage compared than patients with deep hemorrhage. APD use was more common for prevention of myocardial infarction and atrial fibrillation. APD use did not increase ICH recurrence (OR = 1. 149, 95% CI 0. 376-3.513, P=0.808)and did not shorten duration of ICH recurrence(X2=1.257, P=0.262); however, it did reduce ischemic stroke recurrence(OR=0.410, 95% CI0. 203-0.826, P=0.013)and prolonged duration(X2 =14.315, P=0.001). Conclusion APD use was not associated with ICH recurrence and was beneficial to recurrence ischemic stroke in this observation study.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(38):6210-6215
BACKGROUND:Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) plays an important role in cellgrowth, proliferation and differentiation. Insulin-like growth factor binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3), as the main binding protein of IGF1, is involved in the regulation of IGF1.
OBJECTIVE:To attempt to analyze the relation of IGFBP-3 and various diseases, and to explore the potential values of IGFBP-3 in disease diagnosis and risk assessment.
METHODDatabases of PubMed, Science Direct and Wanfang database were retrieved with key words of“insulin-like growth factors 1;IGFBP-3;cancer;growth hormone deficiency;diabetes;osteoporosis”in English and Chinese, respectively, by screening titles and abstracts to search papers related to IGFBP-3 structure and function as wel as relationship of IGFBP-3 with cancer, growth hormone deficiency, diabetes, osteoporosis. Final y, 43 articles were summarized according to inclusion criteria.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In recent years, the relationship between gene of IGFBP-3 and risk of cancer is becoming a hot research topic. The results show that IGFBP-3 is a protective agent of cancer risk, and it is an important factor in evaluating the risk of cancer, exhibiting a potential application value. IGFBP-3 is also associated with growth hormone deficiency and diabetes. In addition, IGFBP-3 can assist IGF-1 to play the regulatory role in bone growth and differentiation, which is closely linked with osteoporosis. Therefore, IGFBP-3 can be a potential predictor for osteoporosis.

Objective To observe the effects of chronic levodopa administration on cerebral dopamine transporter in healthy aged SD rats. Methods Twelve healthy aged SD rats was divided into three groups, which was respectively gavaged with high-dose of levodopa (150 mg/kg), low-dose of levodopa (50mg/kg) and NS everyday for four months. After levodopa was stopped for twenty-four hours, 0.2 ml of 99mTc-TRODAT-1 (800 ?Gi) was injected into the rats through vena caudalis. Three hours later, the rats were sacrificed and the wet weight of striatum, cerebral cortex, cerebella and brain stem was weighed. We measured the counts of radiation and calculated the numerical value of ID.Results The activity of ID in striatum was ( 0.764? 0.129) in high-dose group and ( 0.928? 0.145) in low-dose group. Compared with the control group ( 1.562? 0.289), the differences were significant ( P
