Objective To study the effect of positive pressure ventilation extubation on arterial blood gas indexes of patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Methods 50 patients with orotracheal intubation after intracardiac opening operation under direct vision were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group with 25 cases in each group. We used traditional method to pull out tracheal intubation in the control group. And positive pressure ventilation at 5 ~15 cm H2O during inspiration and pulling out tracheal intubation during expiration in the experimental group. The change of arterial blood PaO2, PaCO2, SaO2, pH and respiratory rate before and 1min、5min、10min after extubation was observed, and also the incidence rate of air tube obstruction was recorded. Results The change amplitude of arterial blood gas indexes of patients in the experimental group was obviously lower, and the length of change time reduced more than 50%. There were 4 air tube obstructions in the control group and there was no obstruction in the experimental group. The difference was statistically significant. Conclusions Positive pressure ventilation extubation can raise lung's compliance and improve oxygenation. And arterial blood gas indexes are more stable. It can decrease the incidence rate of hypoxemia and is a much more safe method.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
Ferulof en ( FL, 45mg and 200mg/kg im ) showed marked antipyretic effect on rabbit fever induced by typho-paratyhoid vaccine and on rat fever induced by yeast powder suspension respectively. Their potency and action phase were similar to those of aspirin ( 35mg and 100mg/kg) . Furthermore, it blocked the action potential of sciatic nerve in toad to some extent and had a certain local anesthetic effect on guinea pigs in intradermic wheal test, but much weaker than procaine and lidocaine at the same concentration. It had no obvious influence on corneal reflex in rabbits. It can be concluded from these findings that together with the results of previous paper the findings of this paper further indicated FL may be proved to be a new antiinflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic drug.

Objective To assess the value of serum amyloid A (SAA) in patients with acute asthma attack. Methods Sixty-four asthmatic patients in acute phase and 20 healthy individuals were included. The asthmatic patients were divided into bacterial infection-induced group and non-bacterial infection-induced group. Lung function test and chest X-rays test were conducted And inflammatory cell counts , serum SAA and CRP levels were measured. SAA were compared among subgroups of asthmatic patients and healthy controls and the diagnostic value of SAA to distinguish bacterial infection-induced asthma was estimated. Results SAA of both asthma subgroups were significantly higher when compared with the healthy individuals, and it was higher in bacterial infection-induced group than that in non-bacterial infection-induced group. In terms of ROC curve , AUC was 0.966 for SAA to distinguish merging bacterium infection, and the cut-off value was 36.67mg/L with sensitivity of 92.3% and specificity of 88.2%. Conclusions SAA increases in patients during acute asthma attack, and particularlymore obviously in bacterial infection-induced patients. It may be used as a reliable biomarker to distinguish merging bacterium infection during acute asthma attack.

ObjectiveTo observe the effects of six stagnations elimination therapy on the content of typeⅠ, typeⅢ collagens and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) expression in atherosclerotic mice with vulnerable plaques, to discuss the possible mechanisms of this therapy in stabilizing vulnerable plaques. Methods The ApoE knockout mice were fed on high-fat diets, which built the vulnerable plaques model. Five groups were established, including normal group, model group, high-dose group, low-dose group, and simvastatin group, with 10 mice in each group. Dose groups were given drug intervention, while normal group and model group were given in the same amount of saline. After 12 weeks of drug intervention, the mice were put to death. TypeⅠ and typeⅢcollagens were observed using picric acid-Sirius red staining method. The expression of MMP-9 was detected by immunohistochemical method.ResultsCompared with normal group, vulnerable plaques formed more easily in model group.Compared with model group, typeⅠ collagen increased in high-does and low-dose groups, while typeⅢ collagen, the ratio of typeⅢ andⅠ collagens, and the expression of MMP-9 decreased (P<0.01).ConclusionSix stagnations elimination therapy could stabilize vulnerable plaques. Regulating typeⅠ andⅢ collagens content and inhibiting the expression of MMP-9 may be one of its possible mechanisms.
