Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2023;41(4):301-303
Carbon dioxide is a simple asphyxial gas, with low concentrations having an excitatory effect on the respiratory center, while high concentrations have an inhibitory effect on the respiratory center. Simple carbon dioxide poisoning is rarely seen clinically. This article reviews and analyzes the treatment process of 9 cases of acute inhalation carbon dioxide poisoning in a cargo ship carbon dioxide leakage accident in May 2019, summarizes clinical treatment experience, and provides timely and effective treatment for acute pulmonary edema caused by acute inhalation carbon dioxide poisoning. In particular, the application of hormones has a good prognosis, improving clinicians' understanding of the disease.

7.Comparison of the curative effect of artificial femoral head replacement and total hip arthroplasty in treatment of elderly femoral neck fractures
China Modern Doctor 2015;(13):50-52,55
Objective To explore the effect of artificial femoral head replacement and total hip arthroplasty in treatment of elderly femoral neck fractures. Methods From January 2012 to December 2013 in our hospital 100 cases patients with elderly femoral neck fractures were selected according to the different treatment methods and were randomly divided into two groups, 50 cases in each group, The observation group patients treated with artificial femoral head replace-ment, the control group underwent total hip arthroplasty, the hip function recovery, two groups of patients with operation time, bleeding volume, postoperative drainage volume, duration of hospitalization and early or long-term complications were compared. Results The excellent and good rate of the observation group after treatment was 80.0%, was significantly lower than the control group after treatment (98.0%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The operative time, hospitalization in observation groups were shorter than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The bleeding volume, postoperative drainage volume in observation group were significantly less than the control group, there was significant statistical difference (P<0.01). Early complications incidence rate of two groups had no significant statistical difference (10.0% vs 12.0%,P>0.05), long-term complications incidence rate of obser vation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(12.0%vs 4.0%, P<0.05). Conclusion Artificial femoral head replacement and total hip have their own advantages in treatment of femoral neck fracture, arthroplasty, but the comprehensive effect, artificial femoral head replacement have the advantages of shorter operation time, less trauma, the long-term results after total hip replacement is superior to the artificial replacement of the femoral head, and no acetabular wear and other complications, total hip arthroplasty has certain advantages than ar-tificial femoral arthroplasty.

BACKGROUNDPsoriasis is a common inflammatory skin disease, yet knowledge of the factors that may induce, trigger, or exacerbate psoriasis is not fully delineated. Recent advances have improved our understanding of the link between psoriasis and cell-wall-deficient bacteria (CWDB) infections. In the present study we assessed the prevalence of CWDB infection in patients with psoriasis.
METHODSThe carriage rate of CWDB in the tonsil or pharynx of psoriasis patients, chronic tonsillitis patients and controls were investigated using hypertonic medium. Psoriasis patients with CWDB were randomly assigned to two groups and respectively treated with antibiotics or systemic therapy without antibiotic. Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from psoriasis patients, chronic tonsillitis patients and control subjects were stimulated with bacteria antigens and extra-cellular levels of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) and interleukin (IL)-10 were measured in the supernatants using the ELISA technique, in vitro. Meanwhile, the proliferation ability of PBMC to respond to bacteria antigens was detected by MTT assay.
RESULTSCWDB were isolated from 74.2% of psoriasis patients, 23.5% of chronic tonsillitis patients and only 6.3% of controls. Antibiotic therapy was appropriate for approximately 80% of psoriasis patients with CWDB infection, and in only 8.9% psoriasis patients CWDB infection was detected after antibiotic therapy. Meanwhile, our study showed that CWDB and wide-type bacteria did remarkably enhance the production of IFN-gamma, in vitro, and PBMC proliferation.
CONCLUSIONCWDB infection may be a virtual triggering factor in psoriasis by regulating T-cell activation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the late results of using posterior restoration and three-column fixation to treat lumbar spondylolisthesis.
METHODSOne hundred and eighty-four patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis were collected from March 1999 to May 2007, they were treated by posterior restoration and fixation with single nail-grooved tail steel plate and fixed with cage (WDFC). Among these cases, 87 cases were fixed with one WDFC, 97 cases were used two WDFCs.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 8 to 69 months(averaged 23 months). According to Nakai standard, the results was excellent in 142 cases, good in 34, fair in 8, the excellent and good rates were 95.6%. Seventy-nine vertebraes with I degree spondylolisthesis were reduced after surgery. Eighty-seven vertebraes with II degree spondylolisthesis were reduced except 9 with I degree spondylolisthesis left. Twenty-one with III degree spondylolisthesis were reduced except 5 with I degree spondylolisthesis left; In 2 with IV degree spondylolisthesis, one with I degree spondylolisthesis left and the other with II degree spondylolisthesis left. The follow-up results showed that there was no statistical significance in the height of intervertebral space between preoperation and post-operation, and no recurrence was observed and no single nail-grooved tail steel plate and WDFC were loose or crashed.
CONCLUSIONPosterior restoration and three-column fixation is a positive modus operandi to treat lumbar spondylolisthesis, which can reduce excellently, keep the height of intervertebral space and stabilization of segment, obtain high rate of fusion, and cut down complication.
