Objective To investigate the effect of severe eraniocerebral injury patients with hypernatremia. Methods Review and analysis of 356 cases of severe craniocerebral injury and 185 cases of hypernatremia. Analysis on the relationship between hypernatremia and prognosis. Results The 185 eases of severe craniocerebral injury with hypernatremia, the incidence is 52 %. Including 136 death cases, the mortality rate was 73.5 %. Hypernatremia appeared after admission since 1~18 days, the average days for this were 4.1 days. 69 cases appeare hypernatremia in 24 hours,60 cases in 48 hours,16 cases in 72 hours,145 cases of hypematremia appeared after admission within 3 days, about 78%. Blood sodium level was 148~196mmol/L, average was 172mmol/L, duration time was 1~25 days, average was 5.4 days. Conclusion It seems that almost hypernatremia appeared, when severe crartiocerebral was injuried in 3 days. The mortality is very high.

Objective To explore facial characteristics of patients with different organ diseases; To provide some references for objective study on TCM inspection information. Methods Smart TCM-I type Life Information Analysis Systems was used to detect facial characteristics of 510 patients with five zang-organs diseases. 36 specific quantitative parameters including red ?, green (G), blue (B) and hue (H), saturation (S), value (V) of the face, forehead, eyes, cheeks, nose and chin were collected, and the Kruskal M-Wallis H and Nemenyi test were used for statistical analysis. Results Among the 510 patients with five zang-organs diseases, 96 patients belonged to lung system diseases, 105 heart system diseases, 101 liver system diseases, 107 spleen and stomach system diseases and 101 kidney system diseases. There was statistical significance in R, G, B, H, S, and V in forehead, eyes, cheeks and nose. Conclusion Facial characteristics can provide objective references for the facial division of five zang-organs diseases.

Fetal cystic lymphangioma is a developmental anomaly of the lymphatic system, which can occur in any part of the body, but most commonly in the neck and armpit. A case of fetal cystic lymphangioma located at the chest wall under the right armpit with a size of 21 mm×18 mm×16 mm is reported here. The mass was initially diagnosed by routine ultrasound examination at 21 gestational weeks. After the diagnosis, ultrasound was repeated every 4 weeks till 37 +4 gestational weeks. Over this period, the mass increased progressively to 101 mm×110 mm×95 mm. Ultrasound-guided intrauterine fetal cystic mass puncture and aspiration was performed 38 +4 weekss, and Bleomycin was injected into the cyst after operation and on day 42 after birth. During a follow-up to 10 months after birth, no obvious cystic mass was found at the right axillary chest wall of the child.

The central nervous system (CNS) plays a key regulatory role in glucose homeostasis. In particular, the brain is important in initiating and coordinating protective counterregulatory responses when blood glucose levels fall. This may due to the metabolic dependency of the CNS on glucose, and protection of food supply to the brain. In healthy subjects, blood glucose is normally maintained within a relatively narrow range. Hypoglycemia in diabetic patients can increase the risk of complications, such as heart disease and diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The clinical research finds that the use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a positive effect on the treatment of hypoglycemia. Here the authors reviewed the current understanding of sensing and counterregulatory responses to hypoglycemia, and discuss combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine and the theory of iatrogenic hypoglycemia in diabetes treatment. Furthermore, the authors clarify the feasibility of treating hypoglycemia on the basis of TCM theory and CNS and have an insight on its clinical practice.
