Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2004;0(05):-
[Objective] To observe the effect of long-term gavage of Folium Sennae (FS) on colic electromyogram and interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in rats. [Methods] Forty rats were randomized into normal control group and FS group. The normal control group was fed with conventional forage. FS group was fed with dry forage mixed with FS powder for 3 months, the preliminary dose of FS was 200mg?kg-1?d-1 and then increased progressively by 100mg?kg-1?d-1 to ensure over half of the rats having diarrhea, and the final dose was 2800 mg?kg-1?d-1. The frequency and amplitude of colic slow wave were detected and the changes of myenteric plexus and ICC were observed by zinc iodide -osmic acid staining method. [Results] After long-term gavage of FS, the frequency and amplitude of colic slow wave in rats obviously decreased ( P
2.Randomized Controlled Observation of Acupuncture Treatment for Knee Osteoarthritis
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2014;(10):937-940
Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of tug-of-war needling method versus conventional electroacupuncture on knee osteoarthritis, seek a better method for treating this disease and prove the importance of needling and moxibustion techniques. Method One hundred patients meeting the criteria of knee osteoarthritis were allocated, in order of visits, to an electroacupuncture group of 50 cases and a tug-of-war needling group of 50 cases. In the tug-of-war needling group of patients, points Zusanli(ST36) and Heding(EX-LE2) were mainly selected and after the arrival of qi following needle insertion, forward pushing or backward pulling was repeatedly made like tug of war to strengthen or eliminate the needling sensation. In the electroacupuncture group, local points were mainly selected according to the routine, and after the arrival of qi, a G6805-1 type electric acupuncture therapeutic instrument was connected and sparse-dense waves were used. Reactions were recorded in the two groups of patients after two courses of treatment. Joint function was assessed using the VAS and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC). Result Both groups of patients were followed up at six months after the end of treatment. There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the VAS score and the WOMAC sub-scores and total score in the two groups (P<0.01). The VAS score and the WOMAC sub-scores and total score decreased more in the tug-of-war needling group of patients than in the electroacupuncture group (P<0.01). The total efficacy rates in the tug-of-war needling and electroacupuncture groups were 92.0% and 90.0%, respectively, at the end of treatment and 94.0% and 92.0%, respectively, at the follow-up;there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups and between at the end of treatment and at the follow-up in the two groups (P>0.05). However, the cure and marked efficacy rates in the two groups of patients were 68.0%and 52.0%, respectively, at the end of treatment and 68.0%and 54.0%, respectively, at the follow-up. It was statistically higher in the tug-of-war needling group than in the electroacupuncture group (P<0.05). Conclusion Both tug-of-war needling and electroacupuncture have a good and very stable therapeutic effect on knee osteoarthritis. Tug-of-war needling is better than electroacupuncture in improving the clinical symptoms.
3.Tumor stem cells and tumor angiogenesis
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(5):326-328
The process of tumor angiogenesis is a complicated chain reaction which happens under the action of a series of positive feedback and negative feedback factors . Cancer stem cells are small part cell groups of self-renewal and multilineage differentiation potential in tumors. Many studies indicate that tumor stem cells participate in the process of tumor angiogenesis, and vascular endothelial growth factor can regulate endothelial proliferation and angiogenesis, thereby promoting tumor growth and metastasis.
4.Inflammatory mechanism in tumor microenvironment and tumor metastasis
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(12):911-913
Inflammatory microenvironment plays a key role in the tumor recurrence and metastasis. The inflammation of tumor microenvironment can start the tumor metastasis by regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition ;can improve the tumor invasion by degradation the extracellular matrix;in addition to,inflammation can supply appropriate microenvironment for tumor vascular angiogenesis.
5.Pathogen distribution and therapeutic efficacy of atypical neonatal pneumonia
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2012;11(9):692-693
The pathogens were tested in 682 cases of neonatal pneumonia, atypical pathogens were found in 167 cases (24.49%).Among the 167 cases, chlamydia trachomatis was detected in 124(74.25%),ureaplasma urealyticum in 55 (32.93%),chlamydia pneumoniae in 47 (28.14%) and mycoplasma pneumoniae in 35 (20.56%).The Chlamydia trachomatis-positive rate in mothers of 167 cases was 80.84%,ureaplasma urealyticum was 53.29%,chlamydia pneumoniae was 50.90%,Mycoplasma pneumoniae was 53.29%.The patients were treated with azithromycin and other antibiotics,151 cases were cured and 11 were effective with an overall efficacy rate of 97.01%.The liver and kidney function were tested before and after treatment; and there were no significant changes after treatment. The results show that azithromycin is safe and effective for treatment of neonatal infectious pneumonia from atypical pathogens.
6.Clinical study on the detection of serum procalcitonin and plasma D-dimer levels in critically ill children with infection
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2013;(6):9-12
Objective To investigate the clinical value of the detection of serum procalcitonin (PCT) and plasma D-dimer (D-D) levels in the early diagnosis of infection in critically ill children. Methods Solid-phase immune chromatography and immune nephelometry were used to determine the levels of serum PCT,plasma D-D,plasma C reactive protein (CRP) and WBC count in 302 critically ill children. Results The positive rate of serum PCT and the level of plasma D-D in the infected group (208 children) were significantly higher than those in the non-infected group (94 children)[96.6%(201/208) vs.10.6%(10/94),(1.65 ± 0.73) mg/L vs.(0.45 ± 0.21) mg/L,P < 0.05].But there was no significant difference of plasma CRP level and WBC count between the 2 groups (P >0.05).The levels of serum PCT and plasma D-D were positively correlated to the severity of the illness (P < 0.05).Conclusions The levels of serum PCT and plasma D-D are between important sensitivity markers for early diagnosis of critically ill children, illness severity assessment and therapeutic evaluation. The detection of plasma D-D plays an important role in early diagnosis of the degree and the width of coagulation disorder, and also provides the theoretic basis to use anticoagulation drugs for treating the critically ill children with infection.
7.SOCS3: a potential therapeutic target for many human diseases.
Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2011;46(7):747-52
SOCS3 has significant regulation effects in cell signal transduction pathways, which can be induced by many kinds of cytokines and proinflammatory factors. After being studied for years, the effect of SOCS3 has become clear in maintaining physiological functions and affecting histopathologic changes in human tissues. This review presents the role of SOCS3 in the occurrence, development, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases, such as inflammation, virus infection, obesity and tumor. As abnormal levels or impaired function of SOCS3 were reported in the onset and development of disease, SOCS3 can be considered as a bio-marker to diagnose and predict prognosis of some disorders, and as a therapeutic target for certain diseases.

9.Investigation progress of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 influencing the metabolism of cholesterol
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(06):-
Familial hypercholesterolemia(FH) is a common autosomal dominant dyslipidemia, which is caused by mutations of the low-density lipoprotein receptor(LDLR) gene producing defect or deficiency in LDLR.The characters of FH are elevated level of total and LDL cholesterol.FH is considered to be a complex polygenic disease.Recently, more findings indicate that proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK9) gene play an important role in serum cholesterol metabolism. Some mutated PCSK9 proteins decrease LDLR,which cause FH in affected families. Some other mutated PCSK9 proteins decrease self-affinity,which cause hypocholesterolemia. We review the newest researches about the structure, function ofPCSK9 gene and the relation of its mutations with plasma cholesterol metabolism.
