Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of ultrashortwave(USW)diathermy and rotating magnetic(RM)field therapy on the brain following transient focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion in rats. Methods Fifty-two Wistar rats were randomly divided into a sham operation group, an ischemia and a reperfusion control group, a USW treatment group and a RM treatment group. Focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion were induced by intraluminal filament occlusion of the middle cerebral artery. Each brain was removed at 24 h after the reperfusion and water content, cerebral infarct volume and histological expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins were observed. Results When USW treatment was started at 18 h after reperfusion, decreased infarct volume and water content were observed, but RM treatment did not show this relationship. Both USW and RM were associated with increased expression of Bcl-2 protein and decreased the expression of Bax protein. Conclusions USW treatment is beneficial in focal cerebral ischemia. RM′s effect is uncertain. Any effect is through reducing apoptosis.

To investigate the expression of ICAM 1 and TNF ? in gastric mucosal cell during drug induced mucosal injury, the authors carried out the study in SD rats with aspirin by mouth with immunohistochemical method . The results showed that ICAM 1 began to express at 30min after administration of aspirin, peaked at 1h, maintained until 6h, decreased at 12h,and expressed slightly at 24h . TNF ? began to express at 15min, peaked at 3h to 6h,decreased at 12h, and expressed significantly at 24h. There was a slight ICAM 1 and TNF ? expression in gastric mucosal cells in the control group. It was suggested that the expression of ICAM 1 and TNF ? plays an important role in the mechanisms of gastric mucosal injury .

Objective To observe the effect of 1 Hz repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on upper limb motor function after stroke. Methods 40 patients with ischemic internal carotid artery (ICA) stroke were randomly divided into treatment group (n=20) and control group (n=20). Both groups received conventional rehabilitation and medication. The treatment group received rTMS while the control group received pseudo stimulation, 1 Hz at 100% resting motor threshold (RMT) over contralesional motor cortex (unaffected side). The treatment group was tested with motor evoked potentials (MEPs), and both groups were assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and grip strength after treatment. Results The amplitude of MEPs of the unaffected cortex increased in the treatment group after treatment (P< 0.001). The treatment group improved in grip strength and the scores of FMA in the affected side compared with the control group after treatment (P<0.001). No serious side-effect was found. Conclusion rTMS was safe and feasible for patients with ischemic ICA stroke to improve the upper limb motor function.

Objective? To explore the effects of health education based on "information-motivation-behavioral skills" (IMB) model on health behavior among soldiers with urolithiasis in the plateau. Methods? From January 2016 to May 2017, we selected 160 soldiers with urolithiasis providing logistic services in the plateau with altitude of more than 3 000 m at the 940th Hospital of Logistic Services Troops of the Chinese People's Liberation Army as subjects by convenience sampling. All of the patients were divided into experimental group and control group with the random number table, 80 cases in each group. Control group carried out routine health education, while experimental group implemented health education based on IMB model. After intervention, we compared the health belief, health behavior and recurrence rate of calculi of soldiers between two groups. Results? Six months after intervention, the total scores of health belief and health behavior of experimental group were (140.22±12.90) and (149.44±14.18) higher than those of control group with statistical differences (P<0.05). The recurrence rates of calculi of experimental group in 6 and 12 months were lower than those of control group with statistical differences (χ2=7.761,P<0.05). Conclusions? Health education based on IMB model makes soldiers change healthy perception into actual behavior and maintain healthy behavior in daily life to reduce the recurrence rate of urinary calculus and improve the combat capability of troops.
