Objectives To evaluate the effects of enteral nutrition(EN)and parenteral nutrition(PN)support in critically ill surgical patients. Methods 80 patients who could not eat were randomized into two groups:one group receivedEN,the other group received PN. The nutrition parameters including nitrogen balance, serum levels of albumin, prealbumin, transferrin and retinal-binding protein, immunity function parameters including immunoglobulin A, immunoglobulin G,immunoglobulin M,and natural kill cell activity, and patients'tolerability parameters including glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase, glutarmic-pyruvic transaminase, blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, and plasma glucose were compared. Results After 10 days'therapy, the two groups all turned from negative nitrogen balance to positive nitrogen balance. The nutrition parameters and immunity function parameters increased significantly in both groups and the latter in group EN increased more. For tolerability parameters, blood sugar in group PN increased obviously and no change in EN group. ConclusionsBoth EN and PN play a rde in nutrition support and elevation of immunity function. Patients tolerate well. EN has better effects on elevation of immunity function and patients tolerate better compared with PN.

OBJECTIVE:
To detect the expression of NGF, BDNF, NT-3 mRNA in the peripheral blood of patients with allergic rhinitis (AR). And to analyze the correlation between NGF, BDNF, NT-3 mRNA expression and the epidsode of rhinitis through Th-2 Hypothesis.
METHOD:
This study was a group controlled trial. The expression of NGF, BDNF and NT-3 mRNA were tested by real-time quantitative RT-PCR and the concentrations of IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and INF-alpha were tested by ELISA.
RESULT:
The expression of NGF, BDNF and NT-3 mRNA in AR patients were 2.44, 4.46 and 1.78 times the amount of those in the healthy adults, respectively. The increased expression of NT-3 correlated positively with the scores of visual analog scale of AR. The concentrations of IL-4, IL-6 and IL-10, which were 2198 +/- 472 pg/mL, 9407 +/- 703 pg/mL and 3917 +/- 323 pg/mL respectively, were higher than those in the healthy adults. The concentration of INF-alpha was 2198 +/- 472 pg/mL and less than the healthy adults. The increased expressions of NGF, NT-3 were positively related to the increase of IL-4, IL-6 and IL-10.
CONCLUSION
The expressions of NGF, BDNF and NT-3 mRNA in AR patients are higher than those in the healthy adults. NGF, BDNF and NT-3 may contribute to the pathogenesis of AR. Moreover, NGF and NT-3 may induce the episode of rhinitis through Th-2 Hypothesis.

OBJECTIVE:
To assess the expression of NGF, BDNF, NT-3 mRNA in the peripheral blood of patients with allergic rhinitis (AR). Meanwhile, to analysis whether the expression of NGF, BDNF, NT-3 mRNA correlate with the severity of rhinitis.
METHOD:
This study is a group controlled trial, which takes the healthy adults as control group. The total RNA have been extracted from the peripheral blood of AR patients. The expression of NGF, BDNF and NT-3 mRNA have been tested by real-time quantitative RT-PCR.
RESULT:
Comparing with the healthy adults, the expression of NGF, BDNF and NT-3 mRNA as 2(-deltadeltaCt) are 2.436 8, 4.4588 and 1.781 8 respectively. The increasing expression of NT-3 correlated positively with the scores of visual analog scale.
CONCLUSION
The expression of NGF, BDNF and NT-3 mRNA are as high as 2.4368, 4.4588 and 1.7818 times to healthy adults. We propose NGF, BDNF and NT-3 may contribute to the pathogenesis of AR. NT-3 could reflect the severity of rhinitis as a molecular biological index.

OBJECTIVETo study the association of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene C677T mutation and plasma homocysteine (Hcy) levels with hyperlipidemia.
METHODSBlood samples were collected from 1591 adults for detecting MTHFR gene C677T polymorphism with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP), plasma Hcy levels with enzymatic cycling method, and blood lipid levels as well. The patients were divided according to the lipid levels into hyperlipidemia group (n=694) and healthy control group (n=897) and the differences in MTHFR gene C677T polymorphisms and plasma Hcy levels were compared.
RESULTSThe hyperlipidemia group and healthy control group showed no significant differences in CC, CT, or TT genotype frequencies or C and T allele frequencies of MTHFR C677T gene, and had comparable plasma Hcy levels (P>0.05). Patients with 3 different MTHFR C677T genotypes had significant differences in plasma Hcy levels (P<0.01) but not in blood lipid levels (P>0.05). Pairwise comparison indicated a significantly higher plasma Hcy level in TT genotype than in CC and CT genotypes (P<0.01), and the latter two genotypes showed no significant difference (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONMTHFR C677T polymorphisms and plasma Hcy levels are closely related but neither of them is associated with hyperlipidemia. The TT genotype is associated with a significantly higher plasma Hcy level than CC and CT genotypes.

Objective To investigate the effects of long non-coding RNA 00894(LINC00894)gene on prolifera-tion and metastasis of human gastric cancer cells, and to verify the regulatory relationship of LINC00894,miR-205-5p and ZEB1 in gastric cancer. Methods The expression level of LINC00894 in gastric cancer cell lines, normal gastric lines, clinical gastric cancer and normal gastric tissue samples were determined by RT-qPCR.Through fol-low-up,the relationship between the expression level of LINC00894 and the prognosis of gastric cancer patients was explored.LINC00894 knockdown cell lines and overexpression cell lines were constructed, and the knockdown and overexpression efficiency was detected by RT-qPCR.Cell proliferation and metastatic capacity were determined by CCK 8,clone formation and Transwell assays.Dual-luciferase reporter assays,RT-qPCR assays and Western blot assays were used to examine the targeted regulatory relationships of LINC00894,miR-205-5p and ZEB1.Results The expression of LINC00894 gene in gastric cancer tissues or cells was significantly higher than that in normal gas-tric tissues or cells, moreover, gastric cancer patients with high LINC00894 gene expression had a worse prognosis. The knockdown of LINC00894 inhibited the viability, clonogenesis, migration and invasion ability of gastric cancer cells, and conversely, the overexpression of LINC00894 obtained the opposite results.LINC00894 promoted ZEB1 expression by targeted downregulation of miR-205-5p expression.LINC00894 promoted the expression of ZEB1 by targeting miR-205-5p and down-regulating its expression. Conclusion LINC00894 serves as an oncogene in gastric cancer and may promote proliferation and metastasis of gastric cancer cells via regulating miR-205-5p/ZEB1 axis.
