Objective To evaluate the effects of different dialysis treatment on femoral artery elasticity in uremia patients by Echo-tracking technique. Methods 81 cases of uremia patients (42 peritoneal dialysis patients and 39 hemodialysis patients) and 31 cases of normal adults as control were recruited in this study. The Intima-media thickness (IMT), Internal systolic diameter (Ds), Internal diastolic diameter (Dd), Value difference between Dd and Ds (△D), Arterial stiffness (β), Pressure strain elastic modulus (Ep), Arterial compliance (AC), Pulse wave conducting velocity (PWVβ) and Augmentation index(AI) parameters were analyzed for evaluation the right femoral arterial elasticity. Results The parameters ofβ, Ep, PWVβin dialysis patients significantly increased (P<0.05) and their AC significantly decreased (P<0.05) compared with normal group. Theβand Ep in hemodialysis patients is higher that those patients not receiving dialysis (P<0.05). Theβand Ep in peritoneal dialysis patients is lower that those patients not receiving dialysis (P<0.05). Theβ, Ep and PWVβin hemodialysis patients are higher than those in peritoneal patients (P<0.05). And AC is lower than control group (P<0.05). In uremia patients, Vascular stiffness was positively correlated with age, duration of dialysis, IMT, pulse pressure, Dd, and negatively correlated with△D(P<0.05). Conclusions Femoral artery endothelial function in uremia patients was damaged earlier than morphological changes. Vascular intimal injury resulting from hemodialysis is more serious, and vascular elasticity decrease is correlated with age, dialysis duration and pulse pressure. Echo-tracking technique could provide quantification evidences for early diagnosis of the femoral artery endothelial dysfunction in uremia patients. The echo-tracking technique has certain significance in early intervention and improvement the prognosis, however, the influence factor of the accuracy of measurement should be consider during the procedure.
2.Changes and its clinical significance of natural kill cell and T lymphocyte subsets in parkinson disease patients
Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(02):-
CD4+ ..CDS+ -.CD4+ /CDS+ was decreased more significantly in those patients who were older, severe, demential and depressive. Conclusion:Severe natural kill cell and T lymphocyte immune functional decline and disbalance were observed in PD patients. The significant decline of the levels of CD3+ ,CD4+ .CD8+ ,CD4+ /CD8+ in PD patients might be closely related to it's pathogenesis. The levels of CD3+ ,CD4+ ,CD8+ CD4+/CD8+ was even significantly lower in older, severe, dementia and depressive patients, so the levels of natural kill cell and T lymphocyte subsets can provide basis for evaluating severity .progression and prognosis of disease in PD. It was a new connotation for the study of PD on prevention and therapy in the future.

Rapid detection and classification of bacteria colonies ( Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogens and Staphylococcus aureus) were investigated by using hyperspectral imaging. The hyperspectral reflectance images (390-1040 nm ) of bacterial colonies on agar plates were collected. Bacterial spectra were extracted automatically based on the masks produced by segmenting a band difference image using the OTSU method. Full wavelength and simplified PLS-DA models were established for classification of bacterial colonies. For the full wavelength model, the overall correct classification rate ( OCCR) and confident OCCR for the prediction set were 100% and 95. 9%, respectively. Besides, competitive adaptive reweighted sampling ( CARS), genetic algorithm ( GA ) and least angle regression-least absolute shrinkage and selection operator ( LARS-Lasso) were used to select feature wavelengths for the development of simplified models. Among them, the CARS-model outperformed the other two in terms of precision, stability and classification accuracy with OCCR and confident OCCR of 100% and 98. 0% for the prediction set, respectively. It was demonstrated that hyperspectral imaging was an effective technology for nondestructive detection of bacterial colonies with high accuracy and high speed. The allocated feature wavelengths by CARS could lay theoretical basis for developing low cost multispectral imaging systems for bacterial colony detection.

Based on ancient literature of acupuncture in Canon of Chinese Medicine (4th edition), the articles regarding acupuncture for urinary incontinence were retrieved and collected to establish a database. By Weka data mining software, the multi-level association rules analysis method was applied to analyze the acupoints selection characteristics and rules of ancient acupuncture for treatment of urinary incontinence. Totally 356 articles of acupuncture for urinary incontinence were collected, involving 41 acupoints with a total frequency of 364. As a result, (1) the acupoints in the yin-meridian of hand and foot were highly valued, as the frequency of acupoints in yin-meridians was 2.6 times than that in yang-meridians, and the frequency of acupoints selected was the most in the liver meridian of foot-jueyin; (2) the acupoints in bladder meridian of foot-taiyang were also highly valued, and among three yang-meridians of foot, the frequency of acupoints in the bladder meridian of foot-taiyang was 54, accounting for 65.85% (54/82); (3) more acupoints selected were located in the lower limbs and abdomen; (4) specific acupoints in above meridians were mostly selected, presenting 73.2% (30/41) to the ratio of number and 79.4% (289/364) to the frequency, respectively; (5) Zhongji (CV 3), the front-mu point of bladder meridian, was seldom selected in the ancient acupuncture literature, which was different from modern literature reports. The results show that urinary incontinence belongs to external genitalia diseases, which should be treated from yin, indicating more yin-meridians be used and special acupoints be focused on. It is essential to focus inheritance and innovation in TCM clinical treatment, and applying data mining technology to ancient literature of acupuncture could provide classic theory basis for TCM clinical treatment.

BACKGROUND: Growth-associated protein-43, a kind of protein relatedto axonal growth, plays a key role in promoting neural development, axonalregeneration, synaptic growth and structural and functional reconstructionand so on. In the study, we find that cyclovirobuxine D can protect braininjury in rats with experimental cerebral ischemia reperfusion.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of cyclovirobuxine D on the expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA in hypertensive rats with cerebral ischemia reperfusion.DESIGN: A randomized controlled animal experiment.SETTING: Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guangdong Province; Central Laboratory of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.MATERIALS: Cyclovirobuxine D is alkaloid monomer extracted from Chinese herb buxine. Cyclovirobuxine D powder with national protected traditional medicine number of ZYB20796057 was provided by Nanjing Xiaoyingyao Pharmaceutical Factory. Totally 120 two-to-three-month-old healthy male SD rats, of either gender, with body mass of 90 to 120 g, were used in this experiment.METHODS: This experiment was carried out in Foshan Hospital of Tra ditional Chinese Medicine of Guangdong Province and at the Central Laboratory of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between June 2005 and March 2006. ①Stroke-prone-renovascular-hypertensive-rats models (RHRSP)were created by bilaterally narrowing the renal artery with silk loop clips. Totally 120 rats were randomly divided into blank group (n=20,renovascular hypertensive rats were given no treatments), sham operation group (n=20, rats were given only surgical trauma), model group (n=40, rats were given treatment of cerebral ischemia reperfusion) and cyclovirobuxine D-treated group (n=40, rats were given cyclovirobuxine D).② Unilateral occlusion of the middle cerebral artery ischemia reperfusion models were made with suture-occluded method. 6.48 mg/kg cyclovirobuxine D diluted by 1.5 mL normal saline was intraperitoneally injected into the rats of cyclovirobuxine D-treated group, twice per day; Normal saline was isochronously intraperitoneally injected into the rats of each subgroup of control group, 2 mL once, the method was the same as that of the cyclovirobuxine D-treated group; interval of injection time was 7 hours in each group. Rats in each group were executed on days 1, 7, 14 and 30after ischemia reperfusion. ③ Brain slice was prepared. The expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA of rats in each group was detected with in situ hybridization.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① The expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA around ischemia are following ischemia reperfusion for 2 hours. ②The expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA in hippocampus following ischemia reperfusion for 2 hours RESULTS: All the 120 rats entered the stage of result analysis. ① Immune in situ hybridization of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA: In situhybridization showed that expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA and expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA could be detected respectively in the hippocampus and marginal area of hematoma after ischemia and reperfusion.②The expression of growth-associated protein-43RNA around haematoma following cerebral ischemia reperfusion group as not found in blank group and sham-operation group; The expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA was found in the marginal zones around haematoma of rats in the model group on the 1st day following ischemia reperfusion and it was significantly increased on the 7th day, gradually reduced on the 14th day and still expressed on the 30th day but less, with significant difference at each time point (P < 0.01); Expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA around haematoma at each time point was more in the cyclovirobuxine D-treated group than in the model group ,with significant difference (P < 0.05). ③There was no significant difference of the expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA in hippocampus of rats following cerebral ischemia reperfusion between blank group and sham-operation group; Expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA was found in hippocampus of rats in the model group on the 1st day after modeling, and it reached the peak on the 7th day, gradually decreased on the 14th day and significantly decreased on the 30th day, but significantly more than that of sham-operation group; The expression of growth-associated protein-43 mRNA in hippocampus was significantly more at each time point in cyclovirobuxine D-treated group than in model group, with significant difference (P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Cyclovirobuxine D up-regulates the expression of growthassociated protein-43 mRNA after reperfusion and promotes axonal regeneration of rats with experimental cerebral ischemia.
