Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most aggressive and lethal human cancers. Cur-rent studies on the relationship between complicated type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and PDAC prognosis have demonstrated inconsis-tent results. The present study aimed to determine the relationship between complicated T2DM and the clinicopathological characteris-tics of PDAC, and evaluate whether complicated T2DM is a significant predictor for overall survival in patients with resectable PDAC. Methods: In this study, clinicopathological characteristics were observed in 136 patients who underwent surgery for PDAC at the Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University between January 2009 and February 2011. The relationship between complicated T2DM and overall survival of PDAC patients was analyzed using univariate and multivariate analyses. Results:The median age of pa-tients was 60 years (range: 35-80 years). Among the 136 patients, 76(55.9%) were male. The prevalence of complicated T2DM was 27.9%in 136 PDAC cases. Preexisting T2DM was not associated with any of the clinicopathological characteristics (all P>0.05). Uni-variate analysis showed that complicated T2DM (P=0.045), maximum diameter (P=0.011), histological differentiation (P=0.013), pT stage (P=0.034), vessel invasion (P=0.032), and pTNM stage (P=0.030) were significantly associated with the overall survival of PDAC patients. The median overall survival time was 14.2 months for T2DM patients, and 18.8 months for non-T2DM patients. In mul-tivariate analysis, complicated T2DM [hazard ratio (HR), 1.873;95%confidence interval (CI), 1.187-2.954;P=0.007], poorly differenti-ated tumor (HR, 2.647;95%CI, 1.413-4.957;P=0.002), and maximum diameter≥4.0 cm (HR, 1.699;95%CI, 1.094-2.640;P=0.018) were the independent predictors associated with poor overall survival. Conclusion:Complicated T2DM was associated with poor prog-nosis. It could be used as a prognostic predictor in patients with resectable PDAC. If confirmed, these findings may provide a novel ap-proach for individualized adjuvant therapy.

Objective:To study the cytotoxicity to tumor cells P815,H22 and B16 in vitro and the treatment effect of mice spleenocytes activated by lymphokine IL-2 and Tremella Polysaccharide,and their effects on main viscerals.Methods:The cytotoxicity of spleenocytes activated by lymphokine IL-2 or IL-2 and Tremella Polysaccharide to P815,H22 and B16 was detected by ?-scintillation counter after 2 hours.Subcutaneous injection of the above-mentioned spleenocytes to the local area of jepatocarcinoma of mice,one injection every two days,5 times totally.To examine tumor weight,size,histological changes and morphological changes in main viscerals.Results:The significantly cytotoxicity to tumor cells of spleenocytes activated by IL-2 and Tremella Polysaccharide was observed.To B16,the cytotoxicity of activated spleenocytes was the strongest.To H22,the cytotoxicity of activated spleenocytes was stronger and to P815,the cytotoxicity was the weakest,the cytotoxicity of TP-LAK cells was significantly stronger than that of LAK cells( P

Objective:To study the diuretic effect of micronized powder of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen on rats.Methods:The metabolic cage method and weighing method were used in this experiment;The indictor of urine excretion in 6 h was used to study the diuretic effect of powder ofPanax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen in the water loaded rats;the output of Na +,K +,C1-in urine were measured to elucidate the related mechanization.Results:Powder of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen under high dose after administration of 2h to 5h can significantly increase the urine volume of rat compared with the blank control group (P＜0.01,P＜0.05),but no diuretic effect after administration of 6h.powder of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen under high dose could increase the urine Na+,Cl-(P ＜0.01) but reduce the K+ excretion,inhibitting the Na+ reabsorption and K+ excretion of renal tubule.It could significantly increase rat urine pH value (P＜0.01),the effect ofpH value by which is similar with the effect of hydrochlorothiazide and the effect of Jinqiancao granules.Conclusion:For the first time,this study investigated the diuretic effect of powder of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen,The relevant mechanism is that powder of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen have an impact on inhibitting the Na+ reabsorption and K+ excretion of renal tubule.

During the washing process of coarse bear gall powder extracts, it is necessary to adjust the amount of ethyl acetate according to the properties of raw materials, which aims to improving the yield and purity of the final product. In the research, using NIR spectra to reflect the comprehensive properties of coarse bear gall powder extracts, the process is optimized in a flexible way. Forty batches experiments are designed according to the weight ratio of ethyl acetate and coarse extracts of bear gall powder. The NIR spectra of the coarse extracts of bear gall powder are collected and processed using principal component analysis (PCA) method. The first 8 principal components combined with the amount of the ethyl acetate are used as the input variables, and calibration models are established to predict the yield and purity of the final product 30 batches are used as calibration set, which is used to establish the models, and other 10 batches are used as validation set, which is used for the performance appraisal of the established models. The correlation coefficients of the calibration, inner cross-validation and external validation for the purity model are 0.902, 0.896 and 0.883, respectively, and the RMSEC, RMSECV and RMSEP are 1.22%, 1.48% and 1.59%, respectively. The correlation coefficients of the calibration, inner cross-validation and external validation for the yield model are 0.921, 0.859 and 0.916, respectively, and the RMSEC, RMSECV and RMSEP are 1.39%, 1.65% and 1.53% respectively. This work demonstrated that NIR spectra combined with technology parameter could be used to predict the yield and purity of the final product. Using the established models, the most appropriate amount of the ethyl acetate can be determined according to the properties of the coarse bear gall powder extracts, and the yield and purity of the final product can be improved.
